Many thanks to Al, Anne Applebaum & Frank Foer for an excellent discussion. I never imagined I would see democracy threatened on so many fronts within my lifetime. The battles feel exhausting at times, but when I need energy I imagine a world without Putin, DJT, Netanyahu and the other fascist wannabe's around the world. I remain convinced this is possible, as long as we all continue fighting the good fight.

As it is today, "the government" is a synonym for "the corporations". Mussolini spoke of “that great, immense, living organization which is the national Corporate State of Fascism”, but ours is an inverted totalitarianism where economics bests politics (1). Corporations spend more lobbying than the combined payroll and other costs of running both houses of congress, and this doesn’t include money in political campaigns (2). Congress only votes on laws written by corporate lawyers. Public opinion has no effect on legislation (3). 1.) Look for “The Powell Memo” 2.) Look for “The Atlantic lobbying spending” 3.) Look for “Princeton Public Opinion Study”

Israel could have had the moral high ground after Hamas attacked. Instead, Netanyahu went for maximum collateral damage. Instead of exposing the Hamas lies, he decided to disperse his own set of counter lies. Time after time Netanyahu has failed to take precautions.

I’m unable to understand Israel anymore. The country feels to me like an enigma. Like a fictional world made up in a Star Trek movie. Israel’s spokesperson continue to make claims which are untrue. I’m so sad to be Jewish today. I have never felt this way before

Bebe used to rock up regularly on late night abc current affairs shows in oz years back funnily enough so did boris. These talking heads were far from power then but curiously maintained a presence how and who managed them from that point were obviously owed something when their time to strut the world stage like puppets arrived. not one for conspiracies but this democracy thing is a fast paced febrile thing directed by players we know not.

Al, if you're reading these. I hope you keep it up. You're doing a great job ...... There is a message that needs to get out...... The popular belief is that wage inflation started with the pandemic. Which of course, was the democrats fault and Biden has made it worse, but in reality wage inflation started in 2017 after Trump took office. At that time I owned a small italian restaurant in the northern suburbs of chicago and all my kitchen workers were mexican immigrants. In my area there are a lot of landscaping companies that take care of nice yards for people. And they employ seasonal workers from Mexico who come legally on work visas for the summer season and some stay longer to snowplow..... Well, for the twenty seventeen season, a lot of them were fearful to come, even though they had legal work permits, because of the toxic trump rhetoric. So the landscaping companies started coming to the back doors of restaurants like mine to recruit the lower level cooks to come a mow yards .... I had to give up 50% pay raises to keep some of my workers ..... Trump started wage inflation and took money out of small business owner's pockets.

💛💙💜💙💛 listening ... 🇺🇦 🌏 🇺🇸 2:31 The subpoena was to testify at a hearing in Congress which implies public, not behind closed doors 12:54 the Ukrainian front is under constant drone surveillance by Russian drones equipped with IRF (?) that detects body heat, so there is no hiding from the RussianZ right now. And we're so much to blame for that 🥺 it makes me sick. MBS's Aramco is producing drones and other weapons for Russia. Aramco owns the Port Arthur Texas oil refinery, largest in the USA. They refine Russian oil there. tRump brokered the sale of Port Arthur oil refinery to MBS in 2017. 😖 13:51 Mega Mike said god told him was Moses to lead the country back to a godly nation ... does he realize Moses led them through the desert took 40 years?? 18:55 actually "peace negotiations" is a Kremlin propaganda point to create chaos 19:53 Prigozhin's mutiny actually has a "inside" CCP connection involving the missing CCP Foreign Minister Qui Gangz (sp?) and the other leader that died of a "heart attack" but everyone says he must have been poisoned ... i can't remember his name. Anyway, the time the Foreign Minister went missing coincides with Prigozhin's mutiny and his jet getting shot down. There's speculation that they might have been working together to oust Putin and Xi at the same time ??? It's possible? 🤔 42:49 can you even imagine howtRump would have handled this??? 😳😖 44:03 earlier today i listened to 3 interviews and all point out that actual FSB agents are among the protesting truckers in Poland and Slovakia. They have been creating a blockade to keep shipments from going into Ukraine.
