I need to also get back into reading The Bible more, if you ever make an online bible study I'd love to join as I don't have anyone my own age really to share thoughts with on it. I've started to feel the same way about reading books recently as well and have decided this year I'm going to focus more on smaller books, and a lot more on poetry. That's a hobby I want to get back into that I've let slide in recent years (also Switch gaming girl yes! cozy games are love) and I've signed up for a scrapbook journal class I'm excited for. Im so happy to have found your channel last year! Everything you said is so reasonable and has been the same mindset for me going into this year. I'm a new mom and my time for reading has drastically become limited. My goals and ambitions with reading started to feel very heavy and drowning and that I couldnt keep up with others or what i use to be able to do. I really wanted to make a bookstagram as a hobby and so ive been curating posts that inspire me or ways to be creative and express my love for reading with others, but to not feed into the overwhelming speed of how many books, posts, reviews I add to my future friends and followers feeds and to start that journey when I feel ready to do so. I want to be intentional with what im posting and sharing stuff that allows me to be creative and calm, but to communicate with others on the books i love! Im so excited to see what slowing down and being intentional is like for you this year ❤

I’m only 15 min into this video and already 👏 all the clap hands 👏👏👏 I did a version of “digital simplifying” this year too once I asked myself, “what is consistently getting in the way of connecting with God, your husband, and your children?” The automatic answer was idle scrolling on Instagram. So, made some big changes. And I’ve been shocked how little I miss it. Also, mega impressed with your TBR cleanout; I do that every year or so, but never that volume! It must have taken you hours to weed through that many!!

Instagram is a huge distraction for me, so I can totally relate! I’ve been finding myself getting bored with the app & don’t miss spending a lot of time there! Haha it was definitely hard to say goodbye to so many books, but so worth it to have a clean space again! ✨

It is definitely interesting to see the difference between people who do booktube and influencing as a full time job and those who do it as a hobby. There seems to be an unspoken pressure to put booktube as a top priority even with a full time job. All hobbies should have a proper place behind God, family and work.

I love this video! This year I'm prioritizing reading my Bible more/spending more time with God. I've missed a few days sadly, but still trying to make it more of a habit and not a convenience. Seeing potential Christian videos would be so cool! (You don't have to if it's too much.) 2024 is a big year for my husband and our family, since we are moving again and leaving the active duty military lifestyle. I set my "goals" low at 20 books, but wanted to do more mood reading and have fun. Quality over quantity was one of my biggest personal goal. I also am not going to stress too much about KZbin, when in April we start moving 2k miles home. I totally get where you are coming from, and know any videos you make will still be great!

Cultivate is such a great word and I truly feel it will bring you peace this year ❤ My word for this year is grounded. 2023 brought a lot of grief with the deaths of my mom and my mother in law. We were go go go the whole year and moved as well. This year I have a new home library and am focusing on decluttering/simplifying our home (previously my in laws home) and spending more quality time with my husband and kids. We are even planning a surprise Disney trip for this summer and traveling to Florida for the first time!

I loved this video. This was so inspirational and gave me the motivation to continue my purge and organizing. A lot of us on youtube are all hitting burnout at the same time. It’s really hard to read 100+ books a year when most of those are untested new releases, as opposed to reading from a well-recommended backlist that has already been filtered. I’m a litfic reader and in that sphere, no one’s really trying to read more than one or two books a month. And if I only end up loving 2-3 books a month, why PRESSURE myself to read more than that? I’m also not doing non-middle-grade readathons anymore. EVERYONE is always in a terrible slump after those monthlong competitive readathons. I’m excited to know your thoughts on Ink Blood Sister Scribe! I feel like it didn’t quite catch on but it’s a great adult fantasy! I read it the same month I read The Wishing Game and The Rachel Incident and that’s the three-book reading month I’m trying to recreate for myself!❤❤

I'm hearing so many creators saying they are just TIRED of the KZbin pressure. It's in the artist YT community too. No one watches longform process videos anymore its always instant gratification... so taking a painting that took a week to a month and chopping it down to just a reveal or 30-60sec short is very disheartening. So I'm joining the YT for fun club.
