Coffee Bun - soft bread roll with crispy outer coffee crust and is filled with butter.
The Best homemade coffee bun! ☕️🍞👌
✔️Dough
3/4 cup [180 ml] milk (fresh or evap)
1 whole egg
2 tbsp granulated sugar [25 grams]
1 & 1/2 tsp [4.5 grams] instant yeast
2 cups [256 grams] bread flour (or apf)
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp [30 grams] butter / margarine
*100-150 grams butter (for filling)
✔️Coffee Cream
1/2 tbsp [3 grams] coffee powder
2 tsp [10 ml] warm water
1/4 cup [50 grams] unsalted butter (softened)
1/4 cup [50 grams] granulated sugar
1 whole egg
1/2 cup [65 grams] all purpose flour (or plain flour)
1/8 tsp (or pinch of) salt
Bake @ 180C for 20-25 mins
*Baking time may depend on oven specification
💡Consistency of dough sometimes vary
on type, quality or protein content of flour so;
➡️if dough mixture turned out too wet, add up some flour
➡️if dough turned out too dry, add up milk/butter.
