Agreed with everything till the end, respectfully. His pre-Trunk Muzik III freestyles/singles(Billy Goat, Elvis Messy, Mountain Dew Mouth, Bloody Sunday, Johnny Cash) with Klever were God-like. Not hating on the albums, but I always felt like Yela's best work prior to those freestyles was largely features on other crazy tracks (like Worldwide Choppers and the like).

I listen to Tom but I will say this...he is no Yelawolf. I think one of the appeals to Tom’s music is that he is rapping about the social constructs that exist today. In a media controlled environment, most of us were blown away that an artist like Tom would dare talk about racism, the music industry, cancel culture and more. So we gravitate to that kind of like a rebel against the system. I still to this day can’t get down with how he does his hooks. They are atrocious. I think if the world did not have all of these problems, Tom wouldn’t have most of the fans he has.

I’m from Gadsden, AL also and I’ve hung around him growing up and actually used to lay down piano tracks for a DJ I knew named Jimmy Fly that was supposed to be taken to be used by Yelawolf to try out. Befrore he was Yelawolf, at a house in Walnut Park back when Yela had corn rolls down to the top of his ass he would check out Jimmy Fly’s beats and freestyle over him and I I knew him as Wayne Atha. He is super talented. I always saw something different in him and something special. My Uncle was BB Kings piano player and music I was born with in my blood and I know when I hear talent, and especially drive. Good people deserve good things to happen to them so doors will open for them to be successful. He covers all the principles of hip hop; breaking, MC’n, Tagging and art, and writing Bars. Yela is an amazing artist too!!! He’s a prodigal artist all the way around in all levels of the four foundations of hip hop. Good dude that never forgot his roots. He’s a couple years younger than me but I’ve always had mad respect for him and his talent and intelligence. Never forgot where he came from. Would love to introduce him to my baby brother and the recited company he owns Autumn Eve Records for a possible collaboration. His name is John McNair and is the best piano/keyboard player you’ve ever seen. So proud of Yela. He deserved to break out as much or more than anyone with all his relentless hard work.!!!!!
