Once again, not exactly the ideal headspace for someone who wants to make content. And if you use the argument “well other people are making content”- not everybody is the same. Tyler took a long and well deserved break. If you follow her other socials (which you should) you would see that she has a great video in the works that’s almost done, has streamed consistently and weekly since the pandemic started, and she’s given constant updates throughout. So don’t come at her demanding content, you aren’t entitled to anything haha. Tyler is one of the most hardworking content creators I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. Being patient will make the new vids that come out all the more exciting and entertaining. Simple really 💜💜

I jumped into this serious with KH2, not having a damn clue what was going on, and YEARS later I've managed to jump head first into all the lore, have watched the cutscenes to every game, bothered my best friend (who's a huge KH fan) with questions and theories, and even tried to get down with Union X and Dark Road (Square for the love of God just make it a console game😭). Kingdom Hearts, I've realized, is just really fun to have in my life. The mystery and cheese of it all is glorious. Kingdom Hearts by now feels like a DnD-Campaign the DM though of that one time and just rolled with it. Then it turned out his players were so invested that he had to make up a big chunk after the fact because he couldn't just tell them there is nothing else. After a while he then took it really seriously to work on his world, had to retcon some shit, took some misssteps and now everyone is just so deep in that it's scary.

Actually most of them are its own story. The only ones who are a continuation from each other are Zero and Stay Night (Zero is a prequel). As for lore-wise. There is nothing new to the lore in there. It has its story, yes. But not much of a world building having.

Yozora has the single most clever character setup in the series since it started. First we're meant to think he's some kind of "opening scene to Toy Story 2" level in-joke in (fittingly enough) the Toy Story world, only with a Square Enix-y flavor. Then we get to the secret ending and it's like, "nope, he's a thing and you will wonder everything about him". And then we face him as the superboss, only instead of Sora facing off with the stock "who is this mysterious man of mysteries who we don't see because the developers didn't come up with a proper design and model for him yet" boss, he goes "Hey, I know you! I have so many questions, like why, and how, and what?" It's just...such a huge breath of fresh air I'm glad I got.

KH is that roller coaster where once you get on, you’re never getting off; not because you don’t want to but because the person controlling the ride (in this case, Nomura) won’t stop the ride long enough for you to grab your bearings and hop off before starting it back up again.

Also, I have to say it, Mickey was explicitly told NOT to go after Aqua or tell anyone about her by Master Yensid for fear of being too under prepared and failing to bring her back. We see Mickey and Riku’s first trip into the Dark Realm didn’t end well and the second trip had them find Aqua, only for the two heroes to be overpowered by her Anti-self. Clearly, Yensid made the right move not sending a partnerless Mickey or a less experienced Sora/Riku (w/ or w/o Mickey) to save Aqua. That’s just my perspective. Yes, it seems cruel to leave her there for 11 years, but strategically you have better odds the stronger and more numerous your heroes are.

Like, holy shit, the way the dialogue around her fits Streletzia and how she talks about someone that sounds like Marluxia... but no one realized at the time that Sora not actually bringing it up to the guy later on wasn't a plothole, it was a hint that it wasn't her. and in turn, all that stuff the nameless star said? Honestly that probably won't ever happen, Kingdom Hearts can go on forever if Disney stays onboard and the series has a fetish for mystery box storylines (even if they mostly feel like they were made by the people that wrote for Lost), even when/if Sora's story is wrapped up they've got dozens of threads to follow that can keep the IP going. Though if it's any consolation at least you know the answer to basically every mystery from the series aside from what KH3 and Union X are setting up, you'll always have _some_ vague conversation or enigmatic hooded figure to ponder about but there's no question marks remaining for the older entries.

I've been with this series since the beginning. I've always loved it. The mysteries each entry gives. Slowly explaining the story. Even when being made fun of for loving this series I never let it get me down. This series is my childhood. I even had dreams about it, even used to RP as my OC. I have to say, my favorite part about Kingdom Hearts is seeing just how much Sora has grown through gameplay alone. He went from swinging his Keyblade around like an exceptionally heavy cardboard tube in the first game, to pulling off aerial maneuvers that would make Spider-Man blush in the second, to... Well, he hardly even has to *touch* the ground in the third game, does he. Kinda a shame they got rid of _customizable_ duel wielding mechanics in the third game though, not gonna lie. But I guess there's a story reason for it... somewhere...

Especially considering most of the DLC is a 'mini-sequel' of sorts, it certainly made good use of it by having it as DLC rather than having to buy and play the *whole* game again. (Though, as you said, I do wish the saving system was just a little different).

Eh I think he just had an escalation problem like alot of anime writers have. I mean alot of people see kingdom hearts 3 and think they only need to play 1 and 2 with it but to get the whole story you need to play those other games. Its like skipping season 2, 4-8 of a show and going to the final season and not getting the emotional impact of anything that is going on and blaming the show.

The real plot twist: Kingdom Hearts becomes THE Final Fantasy.... When you think about it, "is any of this real... or not...?" does sounds more like a fantasy than anything else. And concluding a whole genre of videogames with a game that claims other Final Fantasy characters along side Disney characters would be the ultimate fantasy. Honestly I really want to see this happen if Nomura and Square Enix have have the balls to pull this off in a plausible manner. If this happens, what do you think the title should be? (You may want to consider it along with the FF7 remake... considering the on goings in that game...)

I must say I am quite confused at the "concluding a whole genre" part. Are they meant to ban everyone from creating a JRPG ever again after creating this game? Is only Square prevented from creating JRPGs afterwards? Is the game supposed to be so good nobody would ever wish to play another JRPG because it would not top it and they would rather play this game for the billionth time than get novelty? Or did you use that wording only because it was supposed to end two series and had no word for this as they are generally unconnected except for some cameo appearances? Or did you mean their corporation, as in Square would cease to exist after creating this game because they have achieved their end goal? Anyways, if a True end to the Fantasy JRPGs from square would appear, I would like it to be called Fantasy Finale, with the fantasy in the classic FInal Fantasy font and the Finale in an artsy, curvy ancient ink-written letter way.

Kind of off-topic, but am I the only one who found the focus on Ienzo/Zexion in 3/Remind odd? Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate it as he’s my favourite character, but it’s almost as if they’re setting him up for something. Perhaps in the next game, he becomes the new leader of Radiant Garden and has a much more integral role in the story.
