Een aantal weken terug viel het mij op dat ze bij de dubbeldekkers ook een aanpassing hebben gedaan. Het vlak wat rond de ramen zit en grijs is liep voorheen onder het raam mee in de ronde vorm van de neus (over het 3e frontsein). Tegenwoordig is dat vlak niet meer rond maar recht en is dat ronde stuk wat over het 3e frontsein valt ook geel. Hetzelfde idee als bij de verbouwde dubbeldekkers in het nieuwe Flow design.

Nu ik sinds 2019 schapenkop ben vind ik de afkorting van station Dordrecht een beetje aanstootgevend,het is net of ik in Oost Duitsland woon🤣. Mooie video! Wat opmerkelijk is dat is als er een zware goederentrein door de bocht bij Het Land van Valk rijdt mijn huis een beetje schudt.

This is the intercity from Utrecht to Eindhoven, which was diverted to Tilburg due to a badger (animal) digging holes under the tracks at Vught.

I don't know if I'm just being over sensitive but the last few rides seem to have had a lot of 'Temporary Speed Restrictions' due to 'Condition of Track'. Has there perhaps been a change in inspection procedures catching problems earlier or has there been a reduction in routine maintenance to save money? The yellow front end certainly stands out better, but then in the UK we have had yellow noses on trains for 60 years, so to me it doesn't look right if it isn't yellow.

Hi Vincent. Just out of Dordrecht (timestamp: 2:00) all three tracks had inner rails for a short distance. I believe these help in possible derailments: have you *ever* heard of such rails having to be used? Change of FLIRT nose colour: to aid visibility? Why the horn on the approach to Tilburg? Why are there so many clicking noises coming from the cab during normal running?

Hi Paul. No horn, it is the dead man’s switch signal. Those extra rails are more for stability at that spot.

Waarom heeft Lage Zwalule een groot groot spoorterrein en meerdere perronen?. Voor goederenvervoer begrijp ik, net zoals in Geldermalsen. Maar voor personenvervoer ? Er ligt geen middlgrote stad in de naaste omgeving.

Gele neus, dat is om de zichtbaarheid te vergroten naar aanleiding van het treinongeluk in Hooghalen in mei 2020. De oude kleurstelling viel niet genoeg op was ook 1 van de conclusies van het onderzoek.

Why was the colour changed to yellow? I would guess for the same reason as why locomotives in the UK have had them from the late 1960s on: it's a warning panel. The human eye is most sensitive to green and yellow colours.

On the twenty second of may last year a SNG train hit a tractor with a trailer on an unguarded level crossing near Hooghalen. De train driver did not survive the crash,he was 58. To make the SNG more visable NS decided to paint all SNG trains with the yellow front. This being completed the focus is now also on the Flirt trains of NS(but also changes are made to the VIRM trains as well).

I have a question. As a Belgian train driver/machinist I see you do something that's quite different from our set of rules. Multiple times I've seen you meet a yellow signal (that serves both as an annoucement for 40 km/h and/or closed signal as I understand) ... Then you stop at a station (not having encountered the announced signal yet) and then you leave the station and immediately resume riding at the posted speed as if that yellow signal never happened. Is that due to the ATB (I can hear the "ding" as you leave) ? Are you allowed to resume speed solely based on ATB in cab speed ? Does it tell you the sign ahead is reopened without restriction ? Is that because you see the green signal ahead and are allowed to obey its aspect as soon as you see it ? In Belgium this would be strictly prohibited. We'd have to approach the next signal as if closed and only once past it (if open) would we resume our speed (granted our TBL1+ system doesn't provide in-cab speed control)

Belgian signaling is complicated.. No, atb does not give permission, we do have to see the next signal. If that signal allows a higher speed than the previous one, under certain circumstances we are allowed to increase speed. By understanding the local situation, sometimes I apply this rule with a little flexibility. Where in this video does your question apply?

@@CabviewHolland Best example is 2:43 approaching Dordrecht Zuid, then at 4:55 you're leaving the station and immediately resuming speed. I assume you could see the signal ahead. I simply didn't know if your rules allowed you to obey its aspect as soon as you see it. I was curious about it :) Belgian signals are pretty straightforward (I think nothing can beat the Netherlands for simplicity. It's outrageously straightforward ^^ ) but it's some of our rules that have become convoluted over time... It's another debate. Lots of joking among the drivers ;)

NS changed the nose to yellow for 'improved' visibility. But it just completely removes the contrast which the blue-white scheme had. And trains have, in foggy weather or at night, their lights on. So their full obsession with making everything more 'visible' is just nonsense while the lights do just fine... (Just a waste of money)

Disagree: Yellow is a very visible colour and anything that makes a train visible at a distance is a good idea. Also yellow is a cheerful colour. In Britain new trains are being delivered without yellow on the front and they don’t look so good.

When did that field of yellow tulips appear there? {^_-} As pointed out by another in the fog the white is not much help. Lights are. Nothing's REALLY good. Straight lines do not appear in nature. They catch the eye. Ask a military camouflage expert about it. I'd divide the front into four segments diagonally with lines that appear perfectly straight when looking from a half km away or more. Top section would be white. Side sections blue or black. Bottom section would be yellow. To ice the cake I'd take that straight line vantage point and make the roof line look as straight as possible. Solar powered quite bright winky blinky lights with the (US) standard crossbuck or equivalent at each unprotected crossing that go active when a train is some km away would be good, too. Detecting the train and signaling the solar powered equipment is an exercise left for the student. Signaling back from the equipment with a periodic heart beat will get the student extra credit. {^_^} Now to relax and watch the video rather than read the comments. {^_-}

In Tilburg zie ik ook een VIRM arriveren en de lichtseinen omdraaien. Volgens mij zijn dit de extra treinen die werden ingezet toen er geen treinen konden rijden tussen Den Bosch en Boxtel wegens de dassen.
