Will the witch hazel grow in zone 9b SE Louisiana. I know California is zone 9 also but completely different climate. I am making a Autumn garden and need plants with beautiful autumn colors. Would like evergreens in light green/ golden colors too

Witch hazel is Native to eastern North America (meaning it grows in the wild)... So it should grow there.

Amsonia! Not a shrub but great yellow foliage in fall.

Right after I finished filming this I thought of Amsonia and I was so sad that I forgot about it! Great suggestion. Beautiful blue flowers too
