LYRICS
See the barricades ahead
Roll my sleeves up lift my head
I hear you wail what can’t be done
You are many I am one
And what becomes it’s hard to tell
Like looking down the deepest well
But I will take a torch with me
And light the way for you to see
Do you understand what it’s for,
This dirt that’s on my hands, the blood on yours?
I was clawing up the walls for so long
You were pulling me down pulling me
I was trying not to fall for so long
Now I’m gonna get out
Gonna get out
Compliments like falling rocks
Are ticking bombs with faulty clocks
And I will not be fooled again
I took my means and found my end
And all the days from then till now
Were steps I climbed to show you how
Small the world can seem to be
When you forget when you believed
Do you understand what it’s for,
This dirt that’s on my hands, the blood on yours?
I was clawing up the walls for so long
You were pulling me down pulling me
I was trying not to fall for so long
Now I’m gonna get out
Gonna get out

These guys were like sold out in every big venue all over the country 10 years ago. Now you see they playing in small places and the band barely makes it to big festivals. They deserve so much more, they still kick ass and rock their asses out

amen. hooray for people who can still recognize good music:) Yellowcard is where it's at. these guys are the real thing and they know that music is so much more than making money - seeing as they're still going strong. they make it an expression of themselves - of their souls. that is what music is about, in my opinion. expressing yourself and bringing joy into the lives of both the listeners and the musicians. :)

I remember I went to Memphis May Fire & Yellowcard with Emarosa's concert for the first time. The moment they sang this song I was so happy. ;-; I was just... ugh.. happy. Memphis May Fire are one of my favorite bands, I'm glad I was able to meet the entire band!!! I hugged them all tightly cx Yellowcard are actually a great band as well ^-^

One of my absolute favorites on this album! Not to mention the fact that, as this song fades, "Lift A Sail" starts up, and OMG do these two songs transition so well into each other! "The Deepest Well" is epic in its own right, but then to transition so flawlessly into another epic song just reminds me once again why I fell in love with YC back in the "OA" days.

+Kevalry well to many (not my opinion) they alienated their fan base with Lift a Sail, they tried to do something different, but at the end many people felt offended by their new "pop" sound and the lack of violin sounds, I remember reading angry comments on their FB page that so many people preferred to ignore content from this album. On the other hand, they resigned from Hopeless Records, that label used to promote so much their content and fund good music vids for them (except awakening, I don't wanna talk about that) to sign with Razor & Tie Records, and to me I don't think it was a good idea, not because it was bad, because I barely hear about them anymore, their new vids are mainly footage from concerts or live recordings, so thats other reason why this vid has a little amount of views.
