I'm just going to say that the eyeshadow technique is the swipe and dab from Smitha Deepak. If you blend from light to dark, it won't look muddy like another comment that I saw said it looked muddy, it's because they are blending from dark to light. Also, it's up to you how you do it, but you can either draw a dome of a transition shade and blend that or you can come back in and blend a transition shade on top the normal way. For a more wing like finish, you can draw and > shape with your darkest and last shade on the outer corner of the eye. If you do it like this, then you keep the principles of the traditional look and still get to use the hack. Also, when you blend, it supposed to be small dabs and soft small blending strokes between shades to look like a more natural transition, not big aggressive strokes.

I recently got super into makeup (some self esteem and skin issues made me not really like to because I'd have a lot of fun and spend a lot of time doing it just to dislike the result, get itchy and take it off) and I didn't know there were creamy makeups! Almost all of my makeup is hand-me-downs from my mom and she only used powder except for her lipstick! I don't like to do glam makeups because I think it doesn't really match my daily style and usually when I'm in a glam situation I like to call the attention to my outfit, shoes and hair But even so, I'm still amazed about the amount of possibilities of simple makeups I can do and I feel like I can finally express myself I'll get more creamy makeup as Christmas comes because the powder makes me sneeze and itchy and I'm sooooo excited to hide some pimples and put on a blush that looks exactly like my natural red face that it's even comedic lol

It's weird how beauty hacks change so fast and the right way of doing your makeup! Some years ago I've seen women over lining their lips it was a trend back then but after that every one and every makeup artist started making fun of it as a wrong way of doing your makeup. If you want to make your lips look bigger you should put concealer on the lines and blend then draw a line just on top of your lip line not one meter over it under your nose! And use a nude lip liner. But it seems in Tiktok wrong ways became a hack again. As I remember makeup influencers on Instagram and KZbin used to say put your concealer in a triangle shape under your eyes (which I never did as it was too much concealer!) Now it's the wrong way of doing it and you should put some dots so it makes your face look lifted! Puting dark eyeliner on your waterline was wrong and they said don't draw eye liner on your lower waterline it's not trendy anymore but now this sis did the old way of drawing line all around her eye to make it look bigger. If another app becomes a thing after Tiktok probably all these hacks change again then!

This whole concealer thing is boggling my mind.... Before you draw a triangle basically under your eyes and beside your nose.... But now, you put dots, lines, etc. under the eyes, by the nose, and under your contour/bronzer, yet it still ends up filling in those areas you're no longer wanting to put concealer on! They say, "don't look concealer on the lines under your eyes or it'll highlight them yet this is exactly what this technique does it's still ends up being on your lines under your eyes. I'm just so confused by this. Of course I am a 38-years young woman whom is just learning how to do makeup, so I don't understand the point. I used to be an "eyeliner and mascara only" kind of girl, but now I'm a makeup shopping addict and a "spend 6 hours a day in the bathroom putting on makeup" kind of woman!! 🤭 My husband is going a little nuts, and tbh, so am I!!! 😂

I find these tiktok compilations so annoying (idek why i watch sometimes lol) bc these aren't real makeup techniques. if you are wanting to learn legitimate application i suggest Smitha Deepak, Wayne Goss or Lisa Eldridge (if you aren't familiar with them). They are the real deal.
@Dazychain2 жыл бұрын
The triangle under the eye is a good technique for drag makeup or costume makeup that will be under stage lights. It is not a bad makeup technique but it's purpose is not to look natural. It has since gotten a bad name as being a "wrong makeup technique" when it does serve a purpose. Just not the one most people were using it for. The dots of concealer on the other hand, seem to be a version of a makeup technique that hasn't been copied properly. You would dot concealer where you find you need it most and then blend it out for a somewhat seamless finish. But most people seme to just copy the placement they see others place it, rather than taking their own features and preferred look into account and going form there. You're going to see a lot of that online because it is trendy. You will also see a lot of gimmicks because it brings in views. If you're just getting into it, I recommend Robert Welsh for technique. I will say though. Makeup should be fun and it's ok to not do any of it the "right" way. Paint yourself like a clown if it makes you happy. Put stars on your cheeks if you like it. Life is short anyway.
