I have the same model, with 5 hours on it and just changed the oil. Be careful with that little yellow valve contraption, it will just come right off. I'm really loving this mower though. A big improvement over my 15 hp Bolens which I had for a decade. It's fast, smooth and quieter than my Bolens and has a tighter turning radius too. I can mow in reverse too which the Bolens couldn't. That is a huge help. The deck cleaning adapter thing is nice too. In about 5 to 7 minutes with the blades turning and the deck lowered to the pavement, clean water comes out in 5 to 7 minutes. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.

Just got a 242 XD 42" also...Amazing machine...No plastic except for solid grass expulsion chute at bottom...Anti-scalp wheels and front centre deck wheel...I'm amazed at the cut precision since it was usually easier to get a nice precise cut with a WB 21"...Have used it twice and have already washed and waxed this baby...Replaced a Toro 38" (1995) whose deck finally corroded to the point it just collapsed on one side and had nothing solid to be welded back on to....Pays to use the wash ports on these guys to keep that gunk and condensation to a minimum...And yes, the Kawasaki engine is making me forget about the old Briggs & Stratton...Even the seat is a quality stitched vinyl!...Cutting in style bro...

I purchased this same Model Husqvarna 46” Tractor from Lowe’s in Piscataway, NJ. a 2018 Model in April. Love the Tractor for its performance but having problems with the seat wobbling as it slides back and forth on the left side. My biggest peeve is the fact that I can not get any help from anyone at Husqvarna. Called them and could not speak to anyone who could help me with my problem. It’s late August of 2018 now and I am still living with this problem. Called Lowe’s a couple of months ago and went round and round with them. They had me speak to their head guy who works in the department that handles all their lawn equipment. He knows of my problem and told me the problem exists on both the 42” and 46” Husqvarna models they sell and there isn’t a fix that he is aware of. He told me that he would contact Husqvarna for me and see what he could find out and get back to me. Well of course he a representative from Loews dropped the ball. Just 2 weeks ago I called Loews once again about my problem in Piscataway,NJ and asked for the manager Scott there and was told he wasn’t in so they put a assistant manager on who sent one of their workers to my home to look at the problem. Sadly he told me the same thing that there was no solution to the problem that he was aware of. I am fit to be tied now at this point. It seems like I have no choice but to rig something up on my own. Then I found this video with this owner showing his 46” Husqvarna off on You Tube. Good job by the way. What I saw here when he lifted the seat up was a different design on the bottom of his seat as to how it is mounted to his 46” Tractor. It is different to how the seat on my 46” Tractor is mounted. I believe his Tractor has a better design and I am willing to believe he is not having the same problem I am having. I will be back on the phone tomorrow morning with Lowe’s to point this problem out once again and I hope my post here gets back to Husqvarna Corporate Offices and Lowe’s Corporate Office after it is read by others. At this point I believe Husqvarna needs to have a recall on this seating problem I and others are experiencing. No one wants to be jerked back and forth on the seat of their Lawn Tractor when cutting the grass. It is not a great experience. Husqvarna should be ashamed that they have no customer service to handle a complaint like mine. I believe the situation I am encountering could turn into something dangerous at some point while driving this tractor.
@ffas236 жыл бұрын
Ended up fixing the seat problem myself. Husqvarna customer service is nonexistent if you have a problem with your Tractor and Lowe’s answer to me was to pick up my tractor and bring it to a lawn mower repair shop which was totally ridiculous I felt. What I did was look online for the part number for that large gold colored washer shown in this video at 0:55 seconds under the seat and bolt to go along with it. I then called Husqvarna Parts Department and told them those parts were missing from my new tractor. Ended up using the washer with a longer bolt and added a piece of rubber maybe a 1/4” thick to the left and right side of the washer and tightened it up. That did the trick in keeping the seat in place so it doesn’t rock back and forth anymore. I even thought to be kind enough to call my local Lowe’s store to tell them what I needed to do to fix this problem in case anyone else complains about the same thing. I also gave them the part numbers of the parts needed but if I had to bet on it it probably fell on deft ears. Other then this problem I had I am happy so far with this tractor. My hope is that I never have to call Husqvarna again for anything. They should be embarrassed at what I had to go through as a new customer and I hope my post here does embarrass them and Lowe’s.

Funny thing, Crafstman's lower line tractors are made by.... Husqvarna! I started out looking at a Craftsman (made by Husqvarna, even had a Husqvarna sticker under the seat, same as your tractor has by the battery at 0:54) and liked it but decided against it for a few reasons: 1 - it was a floor model and Sears would only give me 30 days warranty on it...? Had never been used or started, but basically no warranty? 2 - Some of these Husq-Sears tractors have problems with the front end alignment, the one I saw at Sears had major toe-in, they now make replacement tie rod ends or comparable which you can buy for it which are adjustable but I hear that the adjustment doesn't always hold. 3 - I wanted a tractor with EFI - NO carburetor so I bought a Cub Cadet which has that. (Made by MTD, which also makes the Craftsman Pro series tractors, though I don't think they're offering the EFI yet anyhow on the Sears tractors.) Good luck with yours, and good luck to me with mine - which arrived today and is still in the crate.

Where did you purchase that mower at if you don't mind me asking?
@yankeeownz99806 жыл бұрын
Jeff Grant I have the same tractor and I purchased mine from Lowe's during their sale last year. When you buy, call Husqvarna within 30 days to receive the paper back/hard copies of the owner's and repair/parts manuals for free or it will cost $11+ per: 1-800-487-5951 Lowe's will not tell you that info. You just receive get started paperwork and the engine manual. Makesure you buy the V-Twin and not the single cyclinder engine found on the 42" mower. I called mower/tractor engine repair places in roughly 20+ states and they all said the same thing: constantly repairing single cyclinder engines.

I use Tru - Fuel in my new Husky chain saw...no Ethanol, high octane with fuel stabilizers inside the fuel
@p4thf1nd3r86 жыл бұрын
That’s a good thing here in Georgia we have and depending on what gas station we use it at least 10 to15 percent about 99 % of everything we get in my shop to be fixed is because of that ethanol crap lol

@ethanbaker72726 жыл бұрын
I own a 2016 Husqvarna LGT24k54, it is really nice and it does have a choke. It has a Kawasaki engine.

Can you cut in reverse. My grandfather got one about ten years ago. It tried to kill the mower.

They have a wide array of models. All different. From cheap to commercial. You can't judge this way.
@Peach_state_patriot774 жыл бұрын
gizzy guzzi I’d say a nearly $3,000 Huskavarna shouldn’t have so many issues within the first or even second year of buying it. Now that I understand half of their parts are made in China so save them money I get it.
@gizzyguzzi4 жыл бұрын
@@Peach_state_patriot77 Those are American Yard Products mowers. Same as Craftman and many others. It's rebranding. They didn't make them. Their commercial zero turn mowers are outstanding. Like I said, you can't judge them all with a broad brush. That's like saying you had a yellow car once, and never again! It was a lemon!
@Peach_state_patriot774 жыл бұрын
gizzy guzzi ok whatever you say. My family won’t be giving them anymore money. You do your thing and we’ll do ours.
Look at craftsman its same tractor match up. They make craftsman tractors.

If yours has the General Transmission RS800 hydrostatic transmission in it, they're garbage. Poorly designed. Grass and leaves get underneath the drive pulley and the brake release. To get the crap out from under the pulley, you have to pull the battery and the battery case and either hose out or blow out all the debris or you'll get no speed from your tractor. If it gets bad enough, you'll have to pull the entire pulley to get all the stuff out from under the pulley. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYS3hmd8prxnra8
