Right after posting this video, Fujifilm released new firmware for the X-T5 and others - so hoping this video is no longer needed. Reala Ace is out! I’ve upgraded my X-T5 to 4.00. I’ll post an update after using it for a few weeks.

The Af is still buggy. with 23mm and 35mm f2 fuji lenses the AF is pulsing in and out - in AFC video mode

Great video Jackie! It is risky if you dont have any experience in computers to modify the hex values yourself, yea its scary. I upgrade and downgrade like 4 times a day to test them, Just tested latest 7.0 xh2s and for video af for my camera firmware 1.03 its still the best one.

@@JakeChambersOy You can downgrade in the same way yes, just modified my 1.03 firmware to make the camera think is 7.01

in the end of this month fuji will release a new update, i dont think is worth to downgrade. I've checked and the new firmware is already alive and ready to download including a new film simulation

i am planning a holiday in tanzania and Zanzibar in september. i need reliable autofocus by then. if Fuji doesn't give us a fix til then, i will also downgrade my firmware. what good is reala ace if the fotos are put of focus? shame on fuji, its just frustrating and tiring. again and again.

My brother and I downgraded 3 X-T5 bodies without any issues. The bugs that got introduced with 3.01 are not present on 2.10. It is more risky to fail at a job, which will eventually lead to financial downgrades.

I didn’t try it with the XApp until I updated to 2.10 and yes it worked then. It’s a good suggestion and I will downgrade to 1.01 and try it out and I’ll post an update here.

Ok. The 1.01 version does not connect to the X app. Once I upgraded the firmware to 2.10, I was able to connect and restore the 2.10 settings that I backed up yesterday on the camera. So given that, I would recommend once you are at 2.10 and have your camera configured backup your settings and if you ever downgrade again you can restore settings once you are on 2.10.

Wish I could answer that for sure but I can’t. It worked with my X-T5 but that is the only camera I tried it with. Might be a good idea to ask in the Reddit forum.

today the new firmware was released which adds realia ace and fixes the bug in afc. the downgrade should not be done because the firmware you download from their site is not complete but it is the difference with the 1.0 firmware they do this all to prevent downloading the complete firmware and then decrypting it and doing reverse engineering to modify it

You obviously don't know what you are talking about in regards to the firmware not being complete. They ALWAYS release the full size firmware file. You can always go from the very first to the very latest without the need of any in-between firmware. These are not incremental update files.

Never, ever, ever download any firmware file from any source other than Fujifilm directly. As you pointed out, the risk is extreme. The new firmware release corrects the eye auto focus issue that previous firmware updates did not address.
