Really insightful content. I was so close to visiting and working in Japan at one point myself. I had experience with Motion Capture and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. That would've been a real dream come true to visit Japan.

That plane story is completely normal at busy airports. Don’t worry, the pilots aren’t blind and the air traffic controllers know what they’re doing. If something goes wrong the pilots will go full throttle and raise the nose to go around and try again.
@prancingppony Жыл бұрын
Fun Fact - the landing slots are so tight they only do a go around if the absolutely have to, so the pilot would have waited until the last safe time to abort the landing. The other plane and possibly the airport would have been fined but other than that it is standard business

4:40 For me I know when my video has failed after 3-4 days because day 1 has the normal peak and then slow decline of viewers but on day 2-3 KZbin may start putting the video in peoples home feed so views may skyrocket around then.

The obvious Yakitori recipe book idea aside, an idea for merchandise could be a downloadable/printable language workbook, Chris could make a workbook for Learning English, and perhaps Joey and Natsuki could assist in the making of a Learning Japanese workbook

Dear curvaceous Chris and precipitous Pete, This episode, like always, has been brilliantly entertaining and informative. I can't seem to wait for the new artistic venture of the world-renowned filmmaker Christopher Broad, "Famichiki's Fried Chicken Factory", an Abroad In Japan rendition of 'Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory'. I hope there's a scene where Chris Swims in a river of chicken grease and drinks it until he turns into an enormous spherical British man named 'Chris Ball'. If it's within the production budget, can you please put a cameo of a bear fighting Chris for the last piece of fried chicken? Thank you, Sayantan.

I wonder if that factory near Heathrow still has "welcome to Luton" painted on the roof. That might be funny on the planes nose cam :)

There would be no news report of a plane being on the runway. The pilots would have also seen the runway, as would have the tower at Heathrow (traffic control). A planned go around procedure is pretty normal but you only instigate such a procedure once you reach a certain threshold. Unless the pilots randomly became "nihilistic" on the final minute of the flight, nothing bad would have happened. What most likely would happen though, if there was a breach of procedure, is there would be an incident report filed to the AAIB.

It's truly strange hearing my story/experience on a podcast. 😂 My apologies for trying to write out an accent... I probably should have realized that writing in an accent when somebody would then have to read it out was a bad idea. I hope you guys enjoyed the story. Oh, about the Ouji music lounge.. it was indeed a strange experience, but I had rented a private room and the room was clean in the staff was all nice. Going to my room however was very weird because you kind of walkthrough hallway after strange colored hallway and the first time I walked back to my room I worried I was about to pop on some I shouldn't have gone into. LOL the food and coffee in the cafe below were great. I'm not sure what the hostel sleeping arrangements would be like though. I enjoyed my stay and how it only took about 10 minutes by train to get to Shinjuku. 👍 Oh, and a little Park was pretty nice.

I will admit I didn't watch "What it's like to own a traditional Japanese Inn" video that Chris made, mostly because the subject matter just didn't appeal to me. I would say most of the Abroad in Japan videos really pull me in and even some that I am not too interested still end up being very entertaining, but once in a while there are a few videos that just don't attract me. I think it's extremely hard to guess what the fanbase will like without an endless cycle of repeating the same content (looking at you Connor *crane games*) but I still applaud Chris for making content that is interesting to him. I think what really captivates a lot of us is Chris's persona and storytelling and experiences with guests, but some of the more tourism and showcasing videos might appeal to a more specific group of the fans. Best of luck, and really enjoy the video podcasts!

This is the worst format of a podcast you could come up with. A long form needlessly cut into 30 minute chunks. It has no start and no end. Is there a playlist with a coherent full episode?
@mydrillasanjay5397 Жыл бұрын
These are full episodes, even if they're cut up I'd rather hear 20-40 mins of coherent content that an hour plus of drivel
