​@@Mayank_Maximum Keep in mind that the GPi has limited buttons and no analog stick. You'd probably be better off with a PiBoy DMG and full-size Pi 4B. The original Pi 3B struggled to do anything but the easiest N64 games.

One of the reasons I bought a Pi Zero2 was to test it on my GPi Case. Glad to know that it at least works to a certain degree. Getting SNES games run well and using a more accurate GBA emulator is what I really want from the GPi Case.

When we will have a proper retropie or equivalent image working there are two thing to check: 1) What is the battery life ? 2) Are the temperature ok ? Pi zero 2 uses more power and has higher temperatures compared to pi zero 1, hence, this needs to be checked.

Have you tried running SuperRetroBoy on your OG zero W? I had to install it to get the GBA games running smoothly but they run beautifully now!

I'd been considering the Retroflag GPI case fore about a year now, but the performance based on a Pi Zero for the price just wasn't good enough for me at the time. Once I saw the announcement about the Pi Zero 2, I knew this would eventually work with the new Pi Zero 2, and immediately bought a Retroflag GPI case on Amazon. There were 6 left when I put my order in on Friday. By Sunday Amazon was showing "In stock soon".

As good as it is, the retroflag gpi lacks the analogue stick for Dreamcast, psp and N64, or dual for psx. Use the pi3 retropi image as a starting point till a pi zero 2 one comes out.

It's been stated about the betas, but 8.0 beta of recalbox is fully working with the GPI and Zero2W. All systems i've tested seem to work without issue.

IMPORTANT: I now found the solution why I couldn't get the Zero 2 W running in the GPI case (and I bought the GPI case and the Pi Zero 2 TWICE until I found the solution!): It's the batteries!! In my opinion this is misleading information here in this video, the Pi Zero 2 is not officially supported by Retroflag GPI case and I think for good reason. 3 AA batteries are barely sufficient to power the GPI case and the Pi Zero 2W. In the first place I used Eneloop Pro 1,2V rechargeable batteries. That doesn't work. Now I tried 1,5V non-rechargeable batteries that I had laying around, it worked for a couple of minutes, then the voltage was already not stable enough to power the system (you see stripes on the display, then nothing). Maybe with brand-new high quality non-rechargeable batteries it will work for a while, but this can't be the solution. If anyone has recommendations for working rechargeable batteries in this constellation, would be appreciated.

Yes… but what about the battery ? It could be interesting to compare autonomy between the rpi zero and the rpi zero 2. The little battery can really handle the 2,5A without problem ? The temperature could be a subject too.

I tested today latest recalbox beta and it works out of the box. You need just your roms… don’t forget after installing recalbox after boot dpad will not work until you hold select + up for 5 seconds. Be patient and after a while it will boot in system select screen.

Man hope they get the raspberry pi foundation gets a nice CPU soon. Put a word out for it. Something that is powerful enough for WII and maybe PS2. Hey newer cell phones can run switch. I really like retro pi. it's just a pain transferring over the stuff via fillzella. They gotta make it easy like the mister. I just use my pi for mame for the easiness. Mostly the missing stuff. atleast it plays psx. They should do a low lag oled screen :).

Strange you haven't managed to get the retropi image that links from RPi's website working - used this on a Pi Zero 1 a week ago and thought I'd try the card in the 2 when I got it and it booted right up - haven't made any mods to it other than loading ROMs to it via WinSCP

i am trying to build one of these with either a Mango-Pi-MQ-Quad or a RADXA-Zero. i already got the MPi-MQ-Q and it has barely any operating system made for it, even the Mango-pi's official site is only giving images for the Orange-Pi-Zero-2 for use on the MPi-MQ-Q, so might have to try with the RADXA-Zero .

I read it was about 5x faster. Hopefully someone will post some comparison videos. RetroPi boot up and game load-times on the original Zero were the most painful.

How long does it last on the batteries though? D: Hopefully doens't shave too much time off compared to the original. I would love to get the Wonderswan and Neo Geo Pocket games running smootly on this. Erm also I'm not sure what you would plan to do with the analogue stick or L2/R2 triggers: NONE of the consoles that would run well on this support those. Edge cases aren't worth the added value.
