They probably won’t seeing how big a success it was, probably just going to focus on making harder difficulty levels. Like introducing the Hive Lords and Warlords for the Terminids and Automatons respectively (or whatever the HD2 equivelants will be), or creating new enemies like Terminids chaff strains that are more resistant to certain attacks like gas or fire.

Nah if you didn't see they had a message answering this. They will nerf some things or rather "balance" them but not in the near future. I suspect they'll do the rebalance again after the new faction update. Which is probably next year.

This is what thermite grenades were expected to do originally: single target, take a long time to activate, and when they do damage, they annihilate. They have one task and purpose: mess up your target very, very badly. They weren't supposed to handle clutch situations, or clear crowds, or work in sheer numbers. Unfortunately, their one job-melting through a charger's head just as it would an engine block-was completely unrealized until today. Imagine a stun grenade that makes a pretty flash but doesn't even make your enemy flinch. Thermite grenades are FINALLY sitting where they belong, one job accomplished properly: to barbecue one target of your abject disdain.

Real thermite grenades do not explode. They ignite in place, and are sometimes used in nests of three, or multiple nests referred to as clusters. All they do is set things on fire, they will not melt through an engine block. Hell, we had a difficult time disposing of a simple laptop with a nest of three, they barely melted through the screen. We ended up packing it in C-4 instead. The power in the current HD 2 termite is greater than any grenade that's ever existed, and that's a wonderful thing. This game should lean into the power fantasy more.

finally got a group of people to finish a complete a full 3 stage mission on helldive without the game crashing or having a connection interruption to unlock super helldive and its amazing. Everyone iv come across in super helldive actually knows what the hell they are doing and iv been having a blast in it. Seeing how good thermite is now i must say goodbye to the beloved impact grenades that iv been using since launch. Been rocking EAT for armor and Commando for outposts with rocket and autocannon turrents for all the armor that comes in if we get spotted and havnt had a problem completing any bot missions.

There isnt a thing thermites cant kill in a single blast if you can put it in the right place. Its hard as hell to land the them on a titan's forehead, but im fairly certain it can one-tap them if successful. Every other heavy goes down in one. Hulks, tanks, cannon turrets, chargers, impalers- just land them on the head or weak point and it's over for them. Doesn't even matter WHERE you stick it on a tank it still always kills.

Great. I switch these ones with impacts now. Impact= good to get out of trouble when you surrounded or group attacks. A quick throw and you will hit multiples. Thermites= good for objective and larger enemies

Stun grenades are still awesome. Throw it at the swarm behind you and call on eagle on them, Stop a charger mid charge. And I don't think thermite can kill bug holes? So there's still reasons to bring other stuff, but thermite is actually good now O_O

I like that even after huge buff it is still something you have to land and also wait for to explode leaving the window open for anything to happen which in my opinion is the balance it should have always been. That hulk can still kill you. Not mentioning the fact that is only one hulk of many while your ammo is limited. This is balanced and I’m all for it.

I love the new balance, because now i don't need to rely on the very same mix for bugs / robots every single dive. This doesn't make the game actually easier, a lvl 7 dive is still a good challenge as it was before, but now i can use a heavy machine gun to deal with crowds of enemies and also with heavy armoured ones.

The new meta seems to be: A good primary of your choice, grenade launching pistol for objectives and fabricators/bug holes and finally thermite grenade for heavies. The rail cannon is still really good againist titans/striders. The liberator penetrator had a nice buff, so maybe now it is the ideal middle ground between rate of fire and armor piercing to be the ideal against most standard enemies?
