Schmutzgreifer, First, Thank You for caring for these people. I imagine it is both difficult and rewarding. Also would like to tell you my perspective. I had a dear lady friend that I hadn't seen in many years. I was contacted by her sister and told she was in a nursing home with dementia and failing health. When I met the sister prior to my visit I was told to not "get my hopes up" because "Cheryl" may not even recognize me and that she hadn't smiled in quite a long time. (I would like to note that this girl LOVED her music when she was young) When I walked in the room she broke into a big smile. Then when I put headphones on her with her favorite music (Al Green, Aretha, Percy Sledge) She started dancing in the bed and singing along (every word). It was amazing to see her transformation! For several hours she was lucid and "her old self"....and more importantly HAPPY.

Wait how is this song about his mother? "Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play" "I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday" All seem like break up lyrics to me.
@amitrana2756
@amitrana2756 5 жыл бұрын
Jeb Kush the complexity of motherly love is simpler and often more valuably attached to a person’s childhood. Hence, the term yesterday serving its purpose both as a reminder of how fast time goes by and implying how futile success in life is without sharing it or spreading the love. “Said something wrong” could be interpreted as teenage rebellion or the lack of appreciation one can grow in their life when they fail to realise and learn from the elderly and wise people. Not to say that it cannot be interpreted as a love song, but if it is written as a epitaph then that’s a beautiful interpretation too.

At the end of this performance John Lennon keeps looking at Paul telling him to come back for another bow before the next song. That shows how much John Lennon loved that song and realized it was a historic song that he wanted his mate to get solo recognition for composing this song before they continued as The Beatles that night. Goose bumps.

The man was 23 when he wrote this. It staggers the mind. One of the things I am grateful for is I got to live during the time of the Beatles. I was very young. I was not yet 4 during their first appearance in 1964, and 5 when I watched this. I remember this one more clearly. Yep. I was there, kids. When Giants walked the earth.

Lucky. It sucks that the alive Beatles will only be a part of my life for probably like 10 years. I only started listening to the Beatles in early 2019. Wish I could’ve been exposed to their music earlier 😔

@@Adam-qs3lt they made me believe we could change the world. As I said. I was very young. And foolish. The Beatles brought happiness and hope to the world. We shall not see their likes again, unfortunately. In the 70's, I kept wondering who the 'next Beatles' would be. The 'next Beatles' never arrived. They still haven't, 50 years later. And the night John was shot was the end of any of my delusions that we could make the world a better place. The Beatles' story is one of the great stories of the 20th century. It's mythic.

Probably the good quality black and white footage with the beautiful sound mix of this performance, that guitar sounds incredibly clear and well mixed with the strings behind and his crystal clear voice, also notice he’s so talented and focused he is following this backing track (strings) without a click track, gosh such a talented human being
