This video goes to *Kyle Landry* , who inspired me to start my own KZbin channel 4 years ago as a hobby! This has been a fun journey, and I'm glad I found about him and his videos! I've played lots of his arrangements, which, i got to say, are not the easiest ones out there, but they are fun to learn, play and listen to! His arrangements rock even after these years! If you haven't heard about him, just check KZbin for Kyle Landry he has lots of videos with cool arrangements from video games to Chopin improvisations. I wish I could do improvisations like him! :D

listening to this song, brings me back so many memories. i was younger that i am now, when my grandparents were blessed their way to heaven. i played this song at their funeral. it was crooked, but i tried my best. you played this song so emotionally, and i was teared up knowing that it won't happen, i wished that i could see them again. on that day, i had a dream. a dream where i was laughing together with them. this song means so much more to me than just a song. its my memory. their presence. life together with them. their smiles. i just wanted to say thank you.

Because music is our magic. We don't need fancy words or gestures, nor fire in our hands or lightning at our will cast by a mere sullaby when we have music. We don't have to learn a wholeanguage to communicate with music, we only need to listen. Music makes us reminiscent of certain events we went through, read about and the emotions we tied to it. With this piece of music it'll be the game Finding Paradise and its sad yet great story.

This hits me right in the feels because my mom dedicated this song to me. My dad was never there for me and doesn't really love me. He has his own family now. My mom has been through troubles and this just reminds me my mom is all ways there. She had me at the age of 16 so it was rough. I am 11 now. Turning 12. She means a lot to me. I don't know what's it's like to have a dad. This song just reminds me my mom is all ways there for me. No matter what.

STORY INCOMING!!! It’s been three years. Three years since the love of my life disappeared. We would always play River Flows In You whenever we felt like it or just whenever. I couldn’t bear to hear that song again until s/he was back in my arms. I couldn’t play piano without him/her right beside me commenting about it. I was walking down the busy New York City sidewalks when I heard piano. It was the song. I walked up to the pianist. She/he looked identical to the most important person to me I had lost three years ago today. S/he stood up and looked at me after ending the song. *”I knew you would stop. Too bad I can’t.”* I next woke up in my room, tears in my eyes. I turned to look at the spot next to me until I remembered something. *THE RIVER IN HIM/HER STOPPED FLOWING*

Hello Tom, just a suggestion. Your visuals are amazing, but I think more can be done to closer match how the notes sound to the visual effects themselves. For example: making the tail of a note opaque and shorter as the note fades allows it to appear like its disappearing along with the ringing of the note, and how making the impact effect brighter on more pronounced notes highlights the outliars when they come. I'm not sure how many hearing impaired viewers are in your audience, but doing more with those small details in the visuals would help them understand closer to how the song really sounds. The videos you make are incredibly awesome, keep up the good work. I just want everyone to be able to enjoy them as much as I do.

This song is a story to me.. A family, mother, father, sister, and brother sat around the table eating and talking late at night. The father has been drinking but is calm for the most part until the mother comments on it. He riots, destroying everything. The children, panicked, run and hide in a closet, covering eachothers mouths as silent tears drip off of their faces. They left their mother. Her screams echo throughout the house, her begging, coughing, then a gurggled choking sound, then silence.. the kids know how dinner ended, yet they remain hidden and silent. The heavy, slow, drunken steps of their father getting closer and closer until they stop in front of the closet door. The children back up into the corner pulling their knees to their chest. Father walks off. They slip out as their father chases them but is so drunk he trips and falls constantly. They reach the street, however it is dark and can barely see they continue running as fast as their legs can carry them. A police car rolls down the road and sees them running, this isn't the first time. He speeds past them and to their house and finds the father hunched over the mother, crying looking at his hands and the bruises formed on her throat. The officers take him to jail, yet can not find the children. They are back at the house, snuck in, and both old enough to reach the knives.. They lay down next to their mother, seamlessly allowing the blade to glide across their skin as a red liquid begins to pool around them. Hearing the clang of knives hitting the tile as they close their eyes, the sirens fading to nothing in the distance.

Very amazing technique and skill but imo it sounded kind of crowded. There's just something about the simplicity in the way Yiruma composed this piece that really made it special, and allows you to empty your mind and just listen. So for all beginner pianists out there, you can send messages through your playing even if it's just a few simple notes, it doesn't have to be a complicated piece to be amazing and be enjoyed!

Honestly, thanks. I want to learn to play this song for a school talent show but I'm stuck between crazy and simple so this comment helped me see the beter side of playing simplistically. But maybe I'll just do a mix?

Daniel Gregston well it is a very hard piece to pull off. I fell it’s fitting for this video. Screw any other video who does it though lol.

The glowing bar is part of the piano or editing ? It's so cool

I think there is a green screen used to show the bars then lights used to shine on each key press, but I could be wrong.
