Does anyone else kinda miss the days of airbrushed french tips? They were SO white, I loved them. Wonder why no one does them anymore? Hand painted looks great too, but it seems so much more finicky.

I missed it so much, I decided to learn how to do nails and bought one. I have been using it and then started seeing first hand why people have moved on from it. The brush gets clogged, it’s easy to not get the perfect smile line and when doing ombre, you have to go clean out the brush to switch colors which takes like ten min. After much experimenting, I realized with ombre…there are other ways to accomplish the same thing with much less effort.

I love french its so elegant, I just bought the stain resistant top coat yesterday, I just watched your facebook live, am i correct in thinking you said stain resistant top coat cant be used over soak off gel polish because it cracks?
@youngnailsinc6 жыл бұрын
Stain Resistant can not go over gel polish if it is on the natural nail. If the gel polish is over an artificial enhancement you will be fine.

Forgive me for jumping in, but it's a bit like putting gloss paint on an eraser. The minute the eraser bends, the paint will crack and split.
@MoonChildTarot88883 жыл бұрын
Have you tried putting on nail tips using base gel polish and UV light instead of glue? If so did it work as well as glue?
@youngnailsinc2 жыл бұрын
You can use a gel base coat to adhere a tip. Just make sure to remove the shine from the well of the tip, otherwise it will pop off.

i Can see That light smudge near the center. How would u fix that because if I see it I know the client is going to be crappy about it?
@youngnailsinc Жыл бұрын
You can use a small art brush with a little Swipe to clean up any smudges before curing. If you realize you have a smudge after curing, you can use a buffer to buff it off, cleanse & apply Protein Bond & top coat.

Maybe this is a stupid question but is gel paint the same as gel polish?
@qt_stacy2 жыл бұрын
i really wish the moment you’re fixing the details of your smile line wasnt cut right after you make a dramatic mistake because that’s the kind of stuff i wanted to know how to fix. it was really inauthentic for you to cut right as you were fixing the most important part of the smile line - the center arch
@PestilentAura Жыл бұрын
When I make a mistake on my French, I take one of my cheap round tip nail brushes and dip in alcohol or acetone, then dab on a paper towel, then just lightly clean up the smile line.

Let me correct you, we nail technicians fo not PAINT, you paint a house, we polish nails!
@youngnailsinc6 жыл бұрын
Soho Hipiechic hi.... though Greg definitely needs to be corrected and put in time out allllll the time😂 it actually can be called both. In fact even polish itself is called nail paint...a quick google search (what did we ever do without google🤔) Nail paint is a lacquer applied on the finger and toe nails. Nail polish is a varnish applied to the finger and toe nails. They add color and protection to the nails. Hope that helps, but you did remind us our house does need a new paint job😁

This is. The longest most tedious way I’ve seen of painting a smile line !?!?!? There are much easy , faster and really beginner friendly ways to this. I’m so confused as to this content !?!?!
