This practice is an all level sequence that is good for keeping the muscles and joints happy and healthy. Use the tools of Yoga to compliment your running practice. Check in with your breath, stretch and strengthen the muscles and avoid unnecessary tightness, soreness and joint pain.

Adriene really helped me change my view about yoga, running and sports in general. I'm not a very sporty person, and I run slowly and not super far. In the past, I often heard things like "You only really get a benefit from running when you run for 30 minutes", "You have to run a little faster/further every time to improve", "You have to run at least 2 times a week" and so on. That discouraged me from running altogether. After many years of Yoga with Adriene, I finally started listening to me and my body. I don't have to set any goals. If I get out there and I'm too tired to run, it's fine to walk. If I slow down because I'm out of breath, it's fine. It's really all about me. Ever since I've got this mindset, I enjoy running. I love being outside and feeling my body. I'm so grateful to Adriene for changing my mindset on sports in general... it helped me out so much! ❤

I’m just barely getting into yoga and her fun attitude has made this my daily video after a run, the stretches are getting deeper and the postures have improved over time! :)

In March 2014, I couldn't run a mile; in March 2015 I finished the LA Marathon. During training I did this routine after every run, and I was NEVER injured, and over 9 months of training I skipped only 2 days, and I believe 120% that Adriene's sequence is the reason. And I still use it after weight lifting, hikes, and bike rides to keep me free of muscle soreness. Thank you Adriene!

Every time I want some sort of specific yoga I just type in Yoga With Adriene and I am always beyond gratified. Yoga for after running, when I am sad, when I am happy, for my period, when it is my birthday, bed time, morning time and the list never ends. Thank you so very much for your kindness and yoga, it is truly amazing how you can make everyone feel like you're giving a one on one yoga session through the interweb.

Hey Adriene, this is my daily morning practice. Maybe I should have gone out for a run before this, but I am not a runner, just a senior yogi, so I had fun doing this and it was great for flexibility, super stretchy. See you tomorrow on the mat 🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🙏💕

I love how you always say exactly what I need to hear at any given moment! - soften the face, breathe into X. The language in general is very helpful too, shine/melt/draw energy from this or that body part.

I'm keeping this : Rather than getting discouraged by things in Yoga you cannot do, I say smile, enjoy that you have something to work towards. You can return to the video again, return to the body, return to the mat and say "What's up? What's it gonna be today?" in my inspiration quotes bucket

I've been doing Adriene's free videos for awhile now. As a single mom with three kids and a limited budget, being able to do yoga at home without worrying about class fees OR babysitting fees saved my sanity and my body. This isn't remotely equal to what I've gotten from this channel, but it's time to at least offer my gratitude. Thanks, Adriene. You're a big part of the reason being 40 is fun!

Very nice, even if I am not a runner. I do walk a lot, fast and hard, so this definitely helped. Question: When we are doing pidgeon, is ths hip for that folded front leg on the ground or lightly touching it. I cannot tell since it is on the opposite side of Adriene from the camera. Cultivate day 27. 327 days in a row.

My hips are always high off the ground in pidgeon so I use a block under that hip. She talks about using supports for the hip on her foundations of yoga for pidgeon.

I absolutely love this runners cool down. It is my FAVE. A run doesn't feel nearly as satisfying now if I don't hear Adriene say, "you're awesome, you ran today!;)", and my body just sucks up everything that follows. A totally real, spunky, energetic delight that meets me where I'm at on any given day. Thank you for sharing this!

I tried this sequence for the first time after running this morning and I loved it! I was a little intimidated by the time because I've been doing the shorter 5-10 minute sequences, but this one was so good I didn't even realize almost 20 minutes had gone by. I wanted it to keep going lol! This was the perfect session for stretching my legs! Definitely plan to keep this one in my post-run rotation. Thank you, Adriene!

I do this yoga after my long runs every other day but I have also started doing it as a morning routine on the days I don't run and when Adriene says "you're awesome you ran todaayyy" and it's a day I haven't been on a run I say "I didn't but I'm awesome anywaayyy" out loud to the empty room. Cultivate day 27, I'm not a runner but I walk a lot, the stretches were great for my legs and hips specially pigeon pose is really soothing; at first it starts with a slight pain which fades away gradually and instead I feel sort of getting massage! Namaste🥰

I just did it after my run! Thank you very much! I'm enjoying so much all your videos! And this one is great! And, by the way, now that I'm reading The Tree of Yoga, I can see reflected some of Iyengar's words in your way of teaching. It is really good to see how mindfulness, meditation, being aware of the self, etc. can be so easily applicable to the everyday practice. It feels reachable, it's something that we all can do :) Yeaaah!!

Yes, beautiful! I love yoga because it is not about transforming into something you are not or trying to reach the unattainable- though it can seem that way. Hi Adriene! This is my first youtube comment ever, and it feels good. :) I am training for an ultra marathon (50 miles), and I have found this video (and your optimism) to be an absolutely priceless tool in my training regime. My recovery times are split in half (if I even need recovery time), and I am not generally sore, even after my longest training runs. So for that, THANK YOU. Anyway, my race is in three weeks, and I was wondering if you had any ideas on some quick-ish poses that I could practice *during* the run? I will be running/on my feet for about 12 hours or more, in a sort of "monoculture of movement" as I think of it. If I integrated some mindful stretching once every ten miles or so, I bet it would really improve morale and endurance. Again, thank you so much for what you do for us youtube yogis. Much love!

Hey Adriene I recently looked into your channel with hopes of getting in shape. im a transgender girl. my transition does result in weight gain/distribute. im looking for a workout to help keep my body tone while welcoming slight weight gain but a healthy gain. if you could do a video on a workout and suggetions that could be beneficial for me or people with dealing with the same predicament. :)

I find that watching you do yoga while I eat lunch is really good for my digestion. You're relaxing and funny. I might even try to do this one day after a run. You, and you're channel, are sooooo good, Adriene. Thank you.
