This was the very first yoga nidra I ever did about eight years ago. If I remember I think you only had this video and maybe one other back then. These practices along with running and breath work were keeping my functioning through a social anxiety disorder. My father passed a few years back and really at that point wasn’t doing any of my practices and fell into severe social anxiety and depression. These practices along with counseling and Gods Grace are beginning to heal me again. I will never stop doing yoga nidra and this Chanel is still my favorite although you do not have many videos each one is a Gem 💎

This is the first yoga Nidra that I've ever listens to on KZbin. It is perfection in my opinion. I will admit that I now find it really hard, impossible to follow or relax anyone else’s guided Yoga Nidra as well as I do with this. This is an impossibility hard experience for others to be able to try & live up to. I try others, but they just don’t compare.

I tend to get nights of complete insomnia or inability to quiet my brain. As such last night was an extremely hard night. Finally around 5:30am I recalled that sleep music might that I should try as a last ditch effort. Then I had a reminder that the feather was great for helping me sleep. Once I got the correct volume and started playing this oldie, but a goody. One of he last things I remember was resting in the area between my ears and I was out cold! Please never remove this video as it is a lifesaver for me on so many levels as it is my audio Therapy Cat! 😊❤

I just did this meditation for the first time. Unfortunately the trigger warning does not show up on the screen where this meditation is unless you open up the Chevron below the video. I enjoyed the majority of the meditation and got into a very relaxed state. The reason that I use yoga nidra is to assist me in getting back into a sympathetic state and out of fight or flight. Unfortunately due to the comment about the dead body in the forest, which was completely unexpected, I had to struggle to remain relaxed and no longer felt that I could trust you. This is very unfortunate and contra indicative of the reason that I do yoga Nidra. Perhaps there should be a visual warning at the beginning of the video so that others can avoid this experience. As you are in a position of trust over others while teaching yoga nidra, I would suggest that the onus is on you to be trauma informed or be completely transparent in your use of violent visuals such as that so that people can make an informed and safe choice about whether or not to engage in this practice. Thank you.
@tanisfishman-SchoolofSankalpa3 жыл бұрын
Hi there. Thank you for taking the time to write a comment and share your experience. Firstly, I am sorry to hear that you were triggered by the visual. For some people this image is triggering and for others it is not. A dead body lying in the forest is the image of the body returning to the earth after its expiration. A full cycle. Returning to that level of awareness, the forest, the earth, the ground. The stages of life can be very triggering, like aging, sickness, and the ultimate of death. During that stage of yoga nidra called rapid visuals, there are images that work at different levels of the psyche. On one level it could be triggering because the mind cannot comprehend death. It is the unknown and very difficult for the mind to be at peace with, on deeper levels of awareness, the death of the body is understood as a part or cycle of life. During this stage, it is to witness what arises and what associations the mind has stored with image and what sensations are stored in the body with associated images. It can be quite cathartic to be with what is triggering when the body is relaxed and the mind quieted. A way to be with what is causing suffering. It is placed in the practice after much focus on relaxation for this fact, that a release is possible. To call it a violent image is not truth, but this is your association you have made to it. I do understand that it can be quite triggering and that is why I put that note in the description, but for others it is quite healing. To face the fact of the death of the body while in a more subtle, softer inner landscape. If you are using yoga nidra to reset your NS into more parasympathetic mode I would recommend more Irest (integrative restoration) yoga nidra as they specialize in trauma sensitive practices. But the main idea behind yoga nidra is to touch into the witness consciousness that is our awareness and meet, allow, face, welcome, notice everything that arises in our experience and then to finally settle into emptiness, the void, awareness itself, everything and nothing. Again, I am sorry that your experience was triggering and not helpful. But some of my scripts will have images that confront the psyche in some way. Not to upset someone, but to give an opportunity to face that which is causing waves of suffering and manifesting in ways possible very unknown to the conscious level of mind. There are many yoga nidras that are more gentle and focused on relaxation and even guiding someone into sleep. That is not my intention. My intention is to support someone into a relaxed state to touch an awareness that is deeper and face and ride the inner storms that the dualistic nature of life just is. Thank you for reading and receiving a different perspective.
@dianasolfest40523 жыл бұрын
I appreciate your detailed answer, as I too come from experiences of multiple trauma as well. But I came in here knowing that images like this were possible & just somehow intuitively knew that they are only for the good of healing- I feel more grounded in the knowing now, thanks to the comment- w/the added detail answer. So thank you both!! So glad to have found this video, I only have been practicing 5 months & rarely miss a day!! I feel my understanding & growth are going painfully slow- but it is growing for sure. I read & listen to all the information- I can get ahold of about the practice of Yoga Nidra, because I so very much want to experience the wonderful & amazing 🤩 results. Thankful, and Thank You!!!

Why the dead body lying in a forest? I loved it until that point.
@tanisfishman-SchoolofSankalpa7 жыл бұрын
hi Hannah. there are many intentions during the rapid visuals. one aspect is to activate the visuals centre's and spontaneous create an object without an external cause. this is high mastery of mind. another aspect of the visuals is to release any stored energy/ associations from the subconscious with concepts and ideas that may cause tension in the mind. concepts around death are usually high triggers for people. so the best way to release any fears and associations is in a relaxed state where there is no personal emotional attachment.
