Just found this video and I think it's great. I see a lot of complaining in the comments but I just modified what I could do based on my current range of motion and ability. I also just paused the video after the instructions for each move were complete. I then did the move for as many reps as possible and then started the video for the next move. Instead of complaining about what you can't do, just do what you can and with time and consistency you will get better.

I tried to follow this video but as an obese person there are a number of issues. First, I have a very limited range of mobility so I need straps etc to aid me. I have a large belly and leg lifts especially holding while on the mat is difficult, couldn't you put in a modification? Obese people have very bad knees, some wiyhout cartilage due to years of carrying excessive weight so resting on the knees is out of the question. The sequences go from mat to standing back to mat without transitions. I recommend you have the excersie model strap on two weighted pillows onto her mid section and sand paper onto her kneed then have her try these poses, if you'd done that first, you would have a made a much better, more useful video for an actual obese person.

I am 120 lb over weight . I agree with you on some of the areas you state. There is no way I can do all she is showing due to limitations from the obesity. I think the true point here is to do what you can without causing harm to yourself. I recently joined Taekwondo and believe me when I say the stretches and exercises involved are way out of reach at this point. I do what I can do, not what my kids can do. I believe if I do what we can then we will improve mobility. More is better. I am thankful I can still do some at all. Remember stretching is for mobility. Exercise is to burn calories and eating smaller more frequent healthier foods is to loose weight,

Start off with stretching types and build your way up. It’s okay to choose 3 or less that you know you can handle. I found the best results doing it like that. My heaviest was 345 and I fell out of yoga so it’s become harder to do it but if you keep up slowly you’ll be able to do poses you never thought was possible. Just don’t give up be persistent with yourself and be hard but not too hard on yourself.

i had a hard time following because the instructor is not doing the pose/exercise at the same time . its hard pausing on and off again so i only have done it halfway thru.

Thanks so much for your attempt to include and acknowledge that people with extra body weight also want to increase flexibility. But PLEASE slow down pace and PLEASE add modifications, especially for anything on our knees.

No way is this for obese not without modification. You need to rethink the video title or change the content obese people with belly and thigh and every other bumps can't do this

Max X The main thing about yoga is learning to respect your body. If your body "has had enough" after 2 or 3 times of something , then respect that and keep working to improve. It is never about keeping up with anyone. I began yoga 50 lbs over weight. I understand the challenge. Love yourself and listen to your body and breathe! Good Luck, Namaste.

Asanas correct ga chestunnaru..but ivi weight loss ki kaadu kada..just too strengthening back bone..indulo 3 asanas weight loss unnayi.. everyone do surya namaskaras every day upto 12 rounds..if u have possible do both morning and in the evening.. enough u gradually reduce ur weight

I, too, am overweight and live with autoimmune illnesses (Sjögren’s Syndrome and lupus). I hate what medications/complications has done to my body; I’m hoping stuff like this video will help me get fit again. May you be in the best of health and have more good days than bad : )

Too fast. Makes it impossible to keep up with the instructions. One can not keep on pausing a video after couple of minutes before proceeding to next pose.

Good video, I enjoyed it but the transition from sitting to standing is so quick that you aren’t giving us newbies a chance to stand up before you start the sequence. Slow down a little.

While better than most of the KZbin yoga videos for the weight challenged, the instruction still over estimates the students ability to kneel or sit on the floor, to do forward bends (and breathe at the same time), and have the flexibility to achieve these Asanas. Almost is still not what we are looking for. Please try again!

heads up: slow down the speed of this vid from your yt controls and it helps a lot as this person rushes through the exercises and doesn't give time to do the 10 each she requires, nor does she give any instruction or basic understanding of each exercise. Also these are NOT POSES, more like lymphatic exercises. I also think Body Flex is a very good exercise for obese and does aerobic breathing and poses that I have actually lost a large chunk of weight on back in the 90s when they first came out.

The poses are good, just wish it was much slower and gives time to do the repetitions before moving to next pose. However even the repetitions for some poses are too many, as much as 40 reps! I think that’s too much to ask for an obese/overweight yoga beginner. But the biggest peeve by far are the ads interspersed! Completely breaks up the flow and that kind of distraction is not what good yoga is all about. Minus the ads, it’s ~ 8 or 9 minute video. These are good poses but please consider the comments below and redo the video. ETA to estimate real time of video without ads.

I'm not obese or even overweight. This video moves way too fast for an obese person and it's taught by a woman who is definitely 15 to 20 kilos overweight but she is not obese. Also the video should be in real time. How do you expect a person who is obese to be able to make the transitions that quickly? If you are obese slow the video way down and move at your own pace. Don't get discouraged. But in my opinion you should look for another yoga channel that teaches you in real time so you can keep up.
