Ah the British holiday! Reminds me of the time me and my parents went for a walk on Hadleigh, on a path around the countryside and to the castle there and boy did it rain! We were only in light clothing like jackets and trainers, typical tourists, and the mud was thick, rain was cold and that really fine rain that gets everywhere and we were going the wrong way. Ended up asking some other walkers who were dressed for the weather for directs back to the car park. Honestly I loved it!

I don’t mean this at all as an insult to anyone, but of all the yogs, something I think is unique to Lewis and Smiffy is their openness. Not just to new ideas, but also to being wrong. It’s a really interesting facet of personality to be able to hold strong convictions, but still be willing to listen for anything of value from others. I’m not saying that Flax and Sips aren’t, it’s just something I notice especially with Alex and Lewis.

Flax is definitely right about companies needing to be able to profit from ethical behavior. Capitalism is cold evil- it doesn't specifically *want* to cause harm, it just doesn't care if it does. If people can make ethical behavior more profitable for a company than unethical behavior, that company will not only have the incentive to behave ethically but will also out-compete those who do not.

My experience in various parts of Tennessee is that we have pockets of "diversity." I can only remember two black schoolmates from elementary to high school, and one Hispanic schoolmate. There were plenty of Hispanic people in the area, but most were undocumented, and I suspect most of their children were helping their parents work on the tobacco farms. In fact, I rarely saw any Hispanic people at all in that county, but my mom knew a lot of them when she worked at a local bank. They tended to come in groups when they got their paychecks, always with one person in the group who was fluent in English, so they could help when someone else's efforts were failing them. (As I've met many more Hispanic people in adulthood, I've always seen concentrated efforts to learn, with someone else only stepping in where necessary, but the stereotype of being tooo lazy to learn English is still strong, somehow.) As an adult, living just about an hour away from where I went to high school, I've encountered many more people of color. In particular, I've had the opportunity to make a few black friends. There are also Hispanic and Laotian communities in the area, but they tend to be fairly localized. My city is the biggest in the area, so it seems like everyone comes here to shop sometimes, and I worked in retail for several years. Still, I'm not sure that I even met any Laotian people at all until I worked in the next town over, where most of them live. I think the language barrier has been a lot for many of the adults to overcome, but the children have grown up with English, so I expect that they'll become a lot less localized over the next decade or so. I've been surrounded by people with different cultures and heritages, but it's only been in the past several years that I've had the opportunity to work with and hang out with them. I've had so little opportunity to learn about the similarities and differences in our backgrounds. And while I live close enough to an urban area that my city is far less racist than many other rural towns, it's still much too common. More notably, we now have a reputation of being anti-Islamic. Many of our churches work at building friendship and understanding, but it hasn't yet been enough to quell the fears many people have about Muslims "taking 'our' jobs and bringing 'their' laws." We may not forcibly segregate, but we're still embarrassingly segregated, and it really enables the "us vs. them" mentality.

Not a vegan, but BK Impossible burgers aren't technically vegan (or even vegetarian). They are cooked on the same griddle and thus come into contact with beef fat. Also, some have cheese depending on taste, so at best they could only be vegetarian. However, they are tasty and I myself am moving towards more veggie protein for health reasons. I would recommend them and I commend their efforts towards moving towards a more sustainable future.

As a vegan (even I eyeroll when I say it), I eat vegan food from KFC for a treat (not the taste but convenience)... some vegans don't ever do that and I respect that and they essentially are being a better vegan but, it’s also great to see these companies proving vegan options, as long as it reduces the overall meat intake.

In regards to the conversation at the end, the term I've learned for using 'gay' as an insult and other insults in a similar vein (r*tard, p*ssy, r*pe, even cancer/aids, and killed/murder, and dumb/lame) is 'oppressive language'. It doesn't make you a bigot (homophobe/misogynist/etc.) to use it necessarily, but if you continue to use them in social situations where it's not wanted, then it becomes a bigoted action. Continuing to use language normalizes it further, so using it, in effect, supports and condones its usage. You might not 'feel' a dislike or bias towards a certain group, but speech is an act as well. (Personally, I'm not too harsh on it if I hear it, but I do stand with others who if they find it offensive and wish to intervene. I use 'dumb' and 'lame' pretty commonly, but I've been trying to replace 'killed it' with 'crushed it' or 'good shit'.)

My view of the vegan food being sold by fast food chains is that its never been about the morality for them and more about social inclusion, as lewis brought up the majority of people are still meat eaters but vegans and vegetarians arent uncommon anymore and still having circumstances where they cant eat anything on the menu is bad business. The hardcore types might still think theirs something unethical about it but they dont have any friends anyway.

People need to watch the Dominion Documentary to understand why people are vegan for the animals. For me, I just thought a lot about things after being desensitized to all types of gore and cruelty, I figured it'd be better to look at things as truthfully and honestly as possible. I can't find a good reason to exploit non-human animals. I can no longer tolerate it. Animal agriculture is animal abuse. Worse than child abuse. 46:00 Vegans buy vegan products to support the supply and demand for a product. There's now a supermarket race in the UK to be the most vegan supermarket. There is an issue of what's the best way to turn the world vegan. It's still debated in the vegan community, because there's different ways to do activism. But to fight for animal rights, it requires more exposure of industry practises like the killing of newborn male chicks in the egg industry (Including free range, which isn't free range), there's the dairy industry which takes away male calves and kills them for veel, and stresses out the mother. The calfs are not allowed to drink the mother's milk. If female, they're subject to a life of exploitation and torture as a dairy cow. All animals in these industries are also bred to provide more of a product, to the point where it takes a toll on their physical health, hence why every non-vegan is an animal abuser by paying for that practice to exist (Local farms are guilty of this too, they have to use industry practices to make a profit). 51:00 (Roughly) on Pyrion saying that it requires the corporations make change. It's partly true, but one way to change that is supply and demand. The more people ignore animal products (Creating a loss of revenue and resources), the more likely we'll see changes to plant based. Five years ago, there was never any kind of vegan product in restaurants. A few things in supermarkets. But now, there's quite a few things. Change is happening. Unfortunately people don't want to full commit, so we have this slow build up. This trend of "Fexlitarians" or "Fake vegans" needs to stop. Veganism is an ethical practice to avoid the exploitation and cruelty to animals. Plant based people are only doing it for health or environment, which is fine. Just don't call yourself vegan. Just an FYI, products can be called vegan if it doesn't exploit or abuse animals, since that is what veganism is.

Pyrion, sips and lewis are all very successful with their streams and other content. So if they didn't think that it was worth it to keep doing triforce they wouldn't, they have plenty of other things they could be doing I'd imagine. Even the videos 2 years ago weren't getting 100k reliably. There's no such thing as a series taking a break and coming back with guaranteed more views, it's just not that simple. They have a patreon now so in contrary, they're probably earning way more than they were before and should be catering towards those supporters, not KZbin viewers. The platform has changed dude, get with the times.
