I mean, surely if a guy is killing a load of bad guys, that in turn, makes them kind of good? He may not have the moral high ground as he is still killing, but less bad guys in the world would be a good thing

@muz1112 жыл бұрын
@@joshconfer209 It all comes into context though doesn't it? If the character is murdering children, innocent bystanders, then no, they are not a good guy. If the guy in question is murdering people who have done horrible things, then sure, maybe murder isn't the best solution, but he is still only targeting the worst of society and making the world a better place to live. Context means everything.

44:40 hardcore henry? and first john wick was really good IMO. then they dragged it out too much. but the action sequences in all 3 were really well made in terms of filming and choreography, and to me it almost makes sense for him to make sure everyone is dead by finishing them off. his character being this super hitman kind of deal that barely misses etc. movies have also taught us that there's always a fucker that didn't die and reaches for a gun or whatever, and turn the whole thing around haha
@uXses2 жыл бұрын
I really liked the first John Wick. The others less and less because he turns from just a guy with excellent aim into some kind of mutant that can take way too much punishment and just shrug it off. It just wasn't realistic any more. (And yeah, I realize the irony of calling the 1st movie realistic in any way.)

A lot of the dumbing down of movies comes from the studio heads. They're trying to make interesting things as neutered as possible to try and maximize their business stuff...and not piss of China. It's people who have no business making creative decisions forcing people to frak up things that could be cool

Why does Pyrion think that John Wick is supposed to be a "good guy"? I mean he is a retired assassin (one of the best)...killing people, whether quick or brutally, has been his life's work. Also as much as i enjoyed the John Wick series, i have always seen it as an amalgamation of classic 90s action films. A simple plot that was shot well (JW1)...the rest of the movies and the world building is a bit ridiculous though 😅

Pyrion's consistent gripe with stories of the main character not doing stuff a good guy would do is so odd to me. For somebody that consistently criticises media like anime and stories such as Harry potter for just being for kids and not complex enough, he seems to always want his main character to be this categorically good person. His annoyance with John Wick is he doesn't kill people in a way a "good guy," would? Grow up.
