KOEI was a revolutional company, Yoichi Erikawa is grandmaster of grand strategies, I was glad to have possibility to finally speak to him this year. A big connoisseur of KOEI games since early 1990s, I was searching for these games and running through the whole city to find KOEI game cartridges. Nobunaga's Ambition, Uncharted Waters, P.T.O., Genghis Khan, Operation Europe, Liberty or Death, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Aerobiz... I finished them all in the 90s. Some of the greatest games ever made, some of the most accurate historical games too (up to this day!). Hats off. And here we have now, paradox making billions on plagiarism of KOEI ideas, ideas of Yoichi Erikawa and his wife. Anyway, this was not expected, but damn, you made it. Hell yeah. Without KOEI Yoko Kanno would not be there too, most probably. I can go on and on. Ko Shibusawa is a true legend. Eternal gratitude, Yoichi-san, you have made some of the most favourite and greatest strategies ever in gamedev history, I am still playing them. P.S. Всем ценитялем и знатокам KOEI большой привет.

I really enjoy having CEO's being given the spotlight to talk about their history and what ultimately made them in the position they're in now. He's definitely a pioneer and you can just tell from this interview how passionate he is about games. Cannot get enough of these types of videos.

40 years in the game, and possibly more ambitious than he ever was. Shibusawa-san is an icon of the gamedev industry. Thank you for the insight, Archipel

This is such a beautifully made video. Yoichi Erikawa seems like a lovely person, and it's always great to hear about how someone was able to connect with their audience.

Feels like he's one of those greats who'd never get enough spotlight from media in general. I've only heard of him voicing Oda Nobunaga in the first Nioh and that's about it. Thanks for having him !

Best chance to increase that effort by actually investing in a better engine or technology. I can't fathom how beautiful their head quarter looks and seeing the blandness of their art direction in games.

I'm surprised that the founder of koei did an interview with you guys and I thought he'd a very very busy man due to being the CEO at the time.
