It has given me such an appreciation for the shared parts of our faiths. I so wish we had something like Shabbat bc it’s such a special way to honor God. Thanks you so much for sharing. I'll give my two cents about why I enjoy your channel. You present as a woman who holds her life, her husband's life, and her children's lives in high regard. You have a vision and awareness, you are diligent, and you keep a standard in your home. All at an appropriate level. Such a lovely family. Grounded in faith and being an inspiration for your viewers. Well done to you both. May all of life's blessings be yours in abundance.

You were my first exposure to Judaism. Since that day, I have subscribed not only to your channel, but a couple more channels re/Jewish women and their daily life. I have also been slowly learning more about the Jewish faith, through online sources re/Judaism, history and through books and comparing what I learned to how I was raised. I'm not young (64) but it's never to late to learn new things. I wouldn't go so far as to say I am ready to convert, but perhaps I can incorporate what I can into my daily life. The part that deals with the relationship between myself and God. Thanks to you, Channah/Jar of Fireflies, and Sara/Frum it up. You ladies keep it up. You never know the effects your videos have on us. In a way, you are fulfilling your mitzvah to love your neighbors. Shalom.

Sonya, I am a Christian and have only recently come across your videos. I have been in a little bit of a slump lately as a wife and mother but the Lord, through your videos, has instilled a new desire in me to be the best Christian wife and mother I can possibly be. From your example, I have been filled with the joy of the Lord these past few days as I go about my daily household routines. I hope this doesn't sound completely crazy, but your videos have allowed me to be okay with fully embracing my roles as both mother and wife. I see so much grace in you, and although you are beautiful on the outside, I see the biblical concept of a gentle and quiet spirit which comes from inner beauty within you. I have always been on the outspoken side, but your example has inspired me to pursue what it means to cultivate a gentle and quiet spirit. I love your recipes and have even watched some of your videos with my own children!:) I have learned so much about the Jewish faith, which is beautiful. Your dedication to the Sabbath prompted me to ask my own husband how we could honor the Lord's Sabbath Day and keep it holy more within our own home and life., regardless of what others do. Your dedication to the Sabbath, to your family, to your husband, and to your faith shows your dedication to the Lord. Thank you for being an example to us mothers of what a godly woman looks like. May the Lord bless and keep you and your family. May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. May your children rise up and call you blessed.

I thought you might enjoy knowing “why” I even found your channel, was because about 2014 my family became moved regarding honoring Torah, the festivals and practicing “Shabbat” but being desperate how to walk this out I have constantly been looking for sources in how others lived this out, so I found you through one of those searches and very grateful for the other you shared producing such wonderful videos. I pray the Lord continue to bless all you share, as we all are apprentices of this journey and what a blessing it is to have practical sources to help those of us interested in learning how we might also put this practices into action. Hi Sonya, I love your videos and your new home is so lovely! While I will miss not seeing you as often, I think it's very wise of you to realistically look at your overall input of time into the videos and make the necessary adjustments to keep your sanity! I've always thought that making KZbin videos must be a lot more of a process than what we see. You take care of yourself because that's most important, and I look forward to your next upload.

I LOVE your channel. Your husband looks like a fun guy. Your children are adorable. I grew up Italian Roman Catholic in Bensonhurst Brooklyn. My neighborhood was Catholic / Jewish. I miss the Jewish Deli's. I Transplanted to central Virginia with Husband and children 20 plus years ago. The 1 food I miss is a Potato Knish, the square kind that you split and put mustard in the center! Do you think you can show how to make them with the recipe to go with it? I Know it;s probably a lot of work, and I'll understand if you can't. To me, that's my culture too, and sadly can't just go to the store and buy it. I have to make everything that I miss from New York. Keep up the channel it brings a bit of home to me every time I watch one! Thank You!!!!

I so agree with you. If you need help ask for it. We get a firm in twice a year to deep clean our house. It makes such a difference. I am not Jewish but enjoy your cooking. You have given me lots of ideas. Thank you.

I am from the Caribbean and have faith in Yeshua as Messiah for Jews and Gentiles. My maternal grandmother cooked for 12 children and much of what you do in the kitchen makes me think of her with food flavorings and spices. My maternal side is from Guyana/ Suriname. Your calm way reminds me of my grandma and your nursing career reminds of my mom and how she came home and prepared meals for us. Thank you for the love you share with us. God bless you and I know the Lord guided me to your page.I love Israel too.

I really enjoy your videos and appreciate your wholesome content. I am sorry you have some people leaving comments that may upset you and hope you continue to let them bounce off of you as much as possible but again, we are only human. I am fascinated by various cultural traditions and have been lucky enough to have travelled all over the world. I have learned much about an orthodox home from your videos and truly enjoy them. I live in Queens in an area with many Bukharian orthodox families and would love to actually experience a Shabbat dinner but no luck so far! lol. thank you again for your lovely content - I also love to cook and entertain but never really baked my own bread. you have inspired me! I have bread making items and ingredients getting delivered this week. I am excited! Be well Sonya!

I just discovered your videos, so I'm binge watching and love them all! You give such great advice and you're so calm and patient. You talk about having respect for each other in marriage and that can't be stressed enough because it's so difficult to get respect back. I've been married over 50 years to the same man, and we work at it. (This photo is eight years old.) You also commented about Israel--I love Israel and have been there three times. (I'm a Christian, but have Jewish heritage.) I'm so sorry you had those mean comments about getting housecleaning help. You're so sweet. If a woman works and has a large family, she's going to need help. Thank you for sharing; now onto another of your videos! 🙂

Sonya, I have been watching your videos for a while now and I just wanted to say that they have been so helpful and inspiring to me. We are a Christian family who have been celebrating some of the Jewish holidays for a few years now, with a goal to celebrate all of them as well as start keeping Shabbat now this year. I love seeing your family together, it’s so wholesome and inspiring! Thank you for all the hard work that goes into these!

Something Shay said in your last couples interview that stuck with me is that you should continue to take the time to get to know one another even after marriage. I just think that's such a beautiful sentiment and so wise. My husband is from Puerto Rico! It is beautiful. I'm sorry people made hateful comments about your getting help in the house. There's no shame in it, in fact it gives someone else a job. My husband became gravely ill a couple of years ago and just when we decided to get help COVID hit and we just couldn't risk exposing him to anyone because he has no immune system. I purchased a year subscription to Fleishigs just because you were in it. So far your issue has been my favorite.

This is so special, it's not easy to share personal feelings and answer questions especially if you're shy. Just sharing content that is under so much scrutiny is hard but Q&A's that are answered honestly are rare. I know I don't comment much but I look forward to every video you make and I will keep my fingers crossed for that cookbook to come out one day.
