i just came back from japan and found a pretty old vcore 98 tour G (orange and black color) which i think is the same one that stan-the-man used back when he was winning slams. mint condition for really cheap. it's pretty head heavy and thin beam, but it is a beast to hit with. so solid and hefty, with lots of feedback. will take awhile to get used to, but I really think some of these older rackets just have much better feel.

I think people exaggerate how hard this racket is to use. It's just 10 more grams and a bit higher swing weight than the regular 98. If you're reasonably strong physically it's not hard to use at all.

Jeez, this racket has been out ages. Surprised it took that long for you to get it. Anyway, I’ve tried the racket and felt it needed tail weight. I demoed with a leather grip and Lynx Tour at 50lbs. Felt great, but lacked control so probs needed to be strung at 2-3lbs higher. Suffice to say, it was not a switchable racket from my modified 2021 VCore 95, which I absolutely love 😉

The previous version needed 56 tension. For feedback and control. I use a 95 mainly, but I do use the 98 when arm needs a rest. Poly tour rev works well. Maybe this one needs a tighter setup.

Hey hey! 👋🏻 I use a 95 too! 🤩 What string set up do you use? I’ve tried polytour pro (1.25) at 48, alupower at 46, Triax 1.33 at 50, and Lynx tour at 48. Ptp = too twangy, alupower = wow for 2 hours and then tension drops a lot, Triax = surprising power and spin, lynx tour = spin machine with great tension maintenance.

Is the regular VCORE 98 better than the 98 Tour? You guys gave glowing reviews for the 98 (non Tour) last year. Would you recommend the VCORE 98 or Extreme Pro for someone looking for a arm friendly racquet?

Have you tried the 2023 Yonex Vcore 98+? This extended version of the Vcore 98 had similar specs except for a higher swing weight.

I recently switched from my beloved rf97 v13 to the tour. Adjusting to it well but miss the rf. I did it because I want more room for error. A mishit with an rf and it feels nasty n u forgiving. I’m getting more used to the head shape and I think that’s what I had to adjust to the most. More of a cosmetic than feel. I also added 4 grams to the top to make it a little more head heavy

I have been playing with this stix for about 6 months. I haven’t felt as comfortable with it as my modified 2018 95 VCore. I added a leather grip to the Vcore 98 tour and have tried several string setups. PTP at 54/52# was my last try. Strings feel so loose compared to my 95s. I have been demoing the Ezone98 with this vcore and can’t get enough of the Ezone however I already bought the Vcore98 tour. The Ezone is just a wonderful stix but after a 3 setter my arm gets sore. I really want to try an ezone with a leather grip and some NG blend to see if that helps.

I have not tried this racquet. I currently have a vcore 95 demo and I really like it with a little lead tape on the head. Now I’m curious if I may like the 98 tour better, but I really like the 95! 🤷🏼♂️🤦🏻♂️ Frustrsting because I was convinced I’d buy the 95

I got one at the end of last year and it has been my daily driver since. I came from a Gravity Pro, so yeah I like heavy rackets. I wanted the extra spin after playing with the Pro for about 4 years, but not give up much if any control. I agree it is a bit too dampened but I play without a vibration dampener and I get enough feel. I do use a stiffer string as well. It's not a Clash. Now that was/is totally dead.

does it have better feel than the standard 98? I'm hoping it feels/plays like a more powerful vcore95. I'm kind of shocked by how much better my 95 feels than my 98 - to the point where I wonder if there's something wrong with the 98
@albertyu7502 ай бұрын
@@fretstain tbh, the VC98 plays more like a more controlled and stable VC100 rather than a more powerful VC95. I agree, between the 95 and 98, the 95 feels much better, but for long matches the 98 gives you a little more forgiveness so... VC95 for casual hitting, VC98 for matches

Seen a lot of tour pros using it without contract. Many folks see that and want it for that reason. My take was the same as yours. Good stick, just not for me.

I have a of this. You can feel its much stiffer than the 98 stander. I dont like it because it creates less spin. Its more like a havey version vcore pro

Comment on the 2023 VCore 100 and 98 (not the 98 Tour); the VCores are EXTREMELY dampened. It takes a lot of reps to get comfortable with these racquets. I have played with VCores that have poly/poly blend and gut/poly hybrid. Neither setup provides ANY feel. You just have to trust your strokes. If you like a very dampened racquet, give them a try.
