@@Rustymangoes I mean that might be the case for some Dads, but definitely not the case for mine. I'm the only girl in the family and my Dad was very obvious about me being the favorite. My mom theorized he saw the boys as competition when they got older. There's a reason why sayings like "Daddy's little girl" and "Mama's boy" exist. He definitely wasn't the protective type either. My mom was much more worried about how I interacted with men than my dad was. Then again, I was much more like him in personality and had the same interests so it could have also been an ego thing. My moms therapist told her to tell me that she loves me but doesn’t always like me when I was 9. So she did. In a session when her, and I, and MY therapist. No one thought there was anything wrong with saying that. My mom has since profusely apologized for this many times. She was following her therapists instructions and thought her therapist knew best. She feels awful for it now but man did it break my 9 year old heart at the time.

Feel bad for the dude who lost his ex. There's something special I hold with my first love and although me and her didn't work (could never work) we still have love for one another. I love her just as much as my siblings, like family. There's been times where she's needed me and I will come out for her. Of course I do have boundaries and we aren't getting back whatsoever bc she doesn't date dudes anymore. So that's why our friendship and love still exists bc if it wasn't for that I'm sure my current girl would leave me. But there's a special connection you have with that person. Grieving that person is normal. Hope he can work it out with his wife and hopefully she puts her feelings aside for the moment.

A good way we as parents discipline our children in Eastern Europe, Bulgaria when they cry for no reason is to simply be humble and let them know. - "You better stop crying or I will give you something to cry about." Fabolous and Tentalising it is always workin' just fine ~
