That’s what gets me about so-called “security guards”. They take the time to come off their company’s property and hassle someone with a camera on public property. The company property begins at the guard house, fences and the entrance to their property. Security guards are a financial liability because they are not trained properly. Great job DJ for standing up for your rights 👍👏👏

Should call these security guards by rank. 1 gets you thick 10 gets you, slightly less thicker
@coopsiesmeanderings25078 ай бұрын
Yes there are a lot of guards that we could call less intelligent. now I work as a security guard, my mum was ill, so I needed a night job where I could keep doing my own work and look after my mum in the day time. The owner of the business told the security supervisor he does not, want trucks parked on the road that leads to the business. I stated we can not enforce that, its a public road, your land doesn't start until you get to here. pointing out where the public road stopped. the supervisor just said, if we don't we lose our jobs. Part of the problem is, there are people who sit in their glass office, pick up the phone and say, tell that person, and expect you to go and sort stuff out. yet you don't get any backing, then you get called useless, luckily being an engineer by trade, I have enough sense to know what is allowed and how to respond to unlawful requests. Also most companies want SAS style security, yet don't want to pay over minimum wage. Now some companies like Amazon if the road goes straight to the gatehouse, do own the road right up to the junction onto the main road. so your not allowed to park overnight on the road. so seeing how this road at Howdens, goes straight to the gate house and no other business, it would not surprise me to find out that they do own the road. just becuase it not fenced off and they allow the public to use it, doesn't mean they don't own it. Now the security here come out full on, I'm security, your not allowed, instead of being respectful asking whats going on, then if they owned the road, had proof that they did. after all we should have fire maps. location maps. and perimeter maps. which most places don't bother with, and most guards never read, and supervisors just sign off saying yes they know. so yes there are a lot of ill informed people, ignorant people, right from the top down, and in amongst them are some people who do know what is allowed. I have an example, one of the places I was doing security on, this lady come in every morning to clean the premises for 2 hours, what nobody noticed was her extremely well tailored suits and hand made shoes. she didn't need to work, and this was her excuse to get her out of bed in the mornings. when they put the windfall tax on the oil companies a few years ago, the oil companies got rid of 2000 people. stood next to me was a guy who was a captain of the supply ships in the north sea. luckily for him he kept his medical certificate and other qualifications up to date, 12 months later they ringing him up we need a qualified captain. don't think everyone who wears a security uniform is as thick as two short planks nailed together with brown stuff in the middle. you will be surprised who actually does work in this field and why.

I think it's a bigger problem related to the high cost of accommodation. To do these low paid jobs you couldn't afford to live in a home. You'd have to be content with living in a crowded hmo, probably sharing sleeping quarters with strangers. If you are from a third world war zone it looks a reasonable deal to live in overcrowded slum accommodation in a western country. If you are British it looks pretty hopeless, working to be trapped in poverty and squalid conditions with no hope of bettering yourself. If good quality affordable housing was available to British citizens, British people could do these low paid jobs and live in reasonably decent conditions. But that needs government to represent British people, which they don't.

Just had a look according to the .gov site manned guarding requires a licence 1 of the 5 types is "security guard licence - for guarding premise or property against damage, theft, unauthorised access or disorderly behaviour." This is for front line licenses, maybe guarding a company premises does not qualify but I would suggest as soon as you move into the public space there would be a requirement for one. Given that DJ was on public land and that these people moved from private land they are in breach of the law for approaching him without a valid SIA licence. Not being a legal eagle I might be wrong but it looks like they not only over stepped the mark but that they were acting in breach of the law on being licenced when they did so

Thanks for the video DJ. I wouldn't have a clue where to start with a drone but it helps people as a member of the public to understand the boundaries. I was reprimanded a few weeks ago for running past a disused warehouse on the public footpath that currently has 24/7 security, as it was getting dark I'm always courteous to them and wear my full length hi vis jacket to make a point of being seen so they know I'm not doing anything I shouldn't. I reminded them I was on the public footpath and I'm wearing a full hi vis top so I can be seen, and I also said I know some good eye doctors if he was struggling to see me 😂

Great video DJ still the best original and best audit channel, “get back to work”, “from above”, “go on then try it, see what happens”, “no thank you”, “do you have an SIA on display”, Never fails to make me laugh 🌟👍😂

@@paolom.6011 I cannot understand this African, speaking understandable English should be a pre requisite , you have to listen so closely that you just cant make sense of it. Its seems par for the course with all these security guys, only seen one Indian guy who acted nicely and spoke very good english

I love the way you dealt with that African security guard and his so called manager. That crossing was interesting as it doesn’t have the zig zag markings or the lollipops, but it does have the tactiles for the blind people and it’s definitely there for public usage, so I don’t know why she came out with the story it was for their drivers. What nonsense was she on about. Nice one DJ 🙂👍
@OctovineGB2 ай бұрын
oh!, you mean you do not have an ethnicity for the 'so called manager'?. You may say you are not racist all you want but of course you are. You may not know it. By the way, in order to calm your nerves and of those who like your comment and see nothing wrong with it, I would like to confirm that the 2 security staff were in the 'wrong' and need proper trainning regarding issues like this. Have a lovely day!

On the drone footage it appears that the other roads have the brick paving where the public would cross the road, the same paving that is next to the zebra crossing. 👍
