My "Paid For" truck has been parked for two years. What took you so long? Everyone needs to stop their trucks. It's not about having balls to work for peanuts, it's about standing up to these thief brokers. They're making more than us truckers that have thousands invested. From their 10% cut for decades, they're now keeping 60-70%! Stop your trucks and soon they'll be paying what you deserve and probably a little of some head for saving them! 😂

People don’t need to go on strike or park there trucks just stop hauling cheap freight, I see loads it the board and it doesn’t matter how cheap it it someone takes it why ? Just stop hauling the cheap freight it’s really a very simple task..we only have 2 trucks maybe it’s just different for us, I have seen 48k loads going for a dollar a mile and say to my self that not going to move 5 minutes later it’s gone, let the loads sit..

I've been in and out of employment recently due to lay offs unfortunately, then not being able to prove my grit with a union job, but from what I gathered of all of the drivers laugh at 10k loads not understanding where the drivers are at plus where the work is. Yay for them union oldies that could have retired 5 years ago. Womp womp for newbies like me trying to make 100k+ to be able to provide for my family.

I was one of those companies. But i'm here to stay. I will haul for company driver pay as an owner operator before I go work for a company. I did the math and it's possible to run a trucking business on company driver pay. Sure you won't make 10k a month but 4-5k a month is all I need. There's just something about being an owner operator that you can't get working as a company driver. People look at you differently when you tell them your an O/O. I get to pick the lanes I run. There isn't anyone telling me I need to go here or there or when I need to leave and come home. If my truck needs something fixed I'll go out and fix it. I don't need to wait for management to approve a repair. Forget about the growth of the economy I will run in this market all day every day and enjoy doing so.

That's the part that misses people. It is lucrative in that those who know what they're doing CAN make a lot. But the vast majority are wrought by low freight rates and end up making way below minimum because there isn't a cap on how much or how little you are allowed to make. You are just simply at the mercy of the open market and whatever direct customers you secure

And there just ain't any loads to go around for anyone to make any kind of money. Just stay away from trucking. As for those o/o, trucking is just a fool's errand. You are just going to make money for everyone else but you. Dealerships and shops make a killing on your maintenance and repairs. Towing and road call services will have you go starving. There are many variables and reasons that will affect how much you earn as a trucker. At the surface level, rates are definitely low and this is an issue that affects us all. However, if that could destroy trucking then nobody would be left in the market. Local drivers, company drivers and those with direct customers secured are able to still turn a profit. In the end, it all depends on you, you either earn a lot, earn nothing or earn just enough.

When are we going out of business? Preferably never. And we're definitely not grabbing everything on the market, some of those rates are going for as low as a $1.12. We're not taking those. Companies like ours rely heavily on our direct customers who continue to pay the rates we pitch, and in the event that we have to rely on the open market and load board we barter the loads until we get them to a feasible rate. It's not easy, but it's what you have to do to make it

Murray Mullen writes his own PR quarter by quarter and a particularly good annual report essay to the shareholders. Q1 at Mullen was terrible but they still did OK. Over in Ontario, TFI Group also had a poor quarter. The public filings are often good reading for those who care to did through that stuff. In Calgary, Trimac just grinds it out as a private family company as they have for decades. Know your business and protect it. Recognize that there can be low times BUT overall it can be a good business if you learn to respect the volatility of the pricing and competitive pressures. FJB. You have a choice this year. Communists or Capitalists.

Holy crap guys, please don't tell me this. I'm a recent CDL graduate, and am about to be recruited by Werner, hauling regional for Dollar General. I've also had an offer by McElroy, hauling tarped flatbeds, regional.

It depends on how much $ you need a week. If you’re debt free then you’re good. I started with Werner 25 years ago and got some good training!! Don’t freak out. Go do your training and see what happens. May be slow now but hopefully it’ll change .. good luck to you and stay out of the middle lane. 😁

Good Evening, So I’m in a “mood” tonight. I’ll start just by saying this, I started trucking in 1996. Things are bad but have we done it to ourselves, have we stood up and taken a stand when needed to, not at all. Think about this why you’re driving because for some this occurred. - I drive truck knowing a certain group of managers (not leaders, don’t get me started 😂) do not like Trucks, Oil or Truck Drivers….wait for it please… I drive truck and voted for those people and I pull an oil tanker. Makes sense, doesn’t it. Then we wonder why we have issues. Listen relax a little but of levity and truth is always healthy. Stay safe.

End the sanctions, the billions spent on Ukraine could have helped at home. Fuel would have been a lot cheaper and trade along the west and the evil axis, china, Russia etc would have been at normal levels. Think of 2022 and how the economy here at home was doing , then sanctions was imposed. The economy in Europe started to decline, the economy in the U.S. started to decline, trade slowed, the only one’s making money is the arms producers and the federal reserve bank printing money. USA debit is so high it is unsubstantial.
