How is it possible that you exist outside of space and time? Can the mind even grasp the idea that consciousness exists beyond your senses?
Rupert explains that the body is the instrument through which consciousness perceives itself as the world but that doesn't mean that it is located behind your eyes. The physical body is only a physical body from the limited point of view of perception. It's made of mind - of thinking and perceiving.
But that which is perceiving your current experience is perceiving through the faculties of sense perception, yet it is not located anywhere in the time and space that seems to be real in the waking state. The knowing with which we know our experience is dimensionless. It's in another realm. Time and space are a manifestation of this eternal infinite realm of consciousness which has no dimension.

I've often thought about this even as a child. The fact your eye's see (or ears hear, etc) something does not necessarily equate with your perception of what your eyes are seeing. What you 'see' is often an approximation, that you are making in your mind - or even something completely different.

Well said. Rupert has similar faculty in introducing difficult non-dualistic concepts as Alan Watts had. Alan for example asked his listeners to comprehend "space" as "mind" - since everything we perceive is located in space. And after you succeed with that, add your "self" to this "space" since the way you perceive everything is equally illusory as "what" you think you perceive. I recommend listening to Alan just to try various paths to these difficult concepts. Alan was a prolific talker and there are tons of his lectures available on line. Some more useful than others. Rupert is much more concise and focused with his message and because of that he requires more concentration.

That might perhaps have been a reaction to trauma. Dissociative events such as out of body events are often associated with trauma. Just being a pre-teen or teen contains its own traumas. Also, who knows ? I guess the developing brain has many ways of being apprehended in a plastic manner - after all , brain plasticity is a hallmark of childhood and adolescence as opposed to adulthood ( believe me now - Im in my mid fifties but I do remember similar experiences to those you mention as well as those mentioned by J N below ).

@@jn2400 See Andrew Huberman's very interesting essay on KZbin about psychedelics . Not saying you ever did mushrooms but that your reported experience is very similar to that when one experiences a " universalising " experience under shrooms - maybe the same cause ( that is, 2a serotonin receptors communicating across your higher brain functions causing that stretched feeling across the sky ). I have had similar experiences both with and previously, without psychedelics. In your case, maybe your brain was still making those higher function connections, which I suggest may be a good thing for you if it continued to occur after childhood since it might possibly be indicative of a continuing ability to make very highly functioning cognitive associations between disparate sources of information held in disparate areas of the higher brain - that is, a high degree of integrative imagination. Or, maybe not.

I mean this should be common knowledge since we discovered the photon and quanta of energy. We know photons dont experience time (or space since it's the same plane). They are also without mass. So by definition, everything is quanta, so when it gets slowed down and gains mass, it operates within spacetime. But essentially, the true nature of energy without being clumped up and slowed down into mass, is timeless and spaceless and massless. So it really just depends on it's velocity and mass how you experience spacetime or if you even experience it at all. It's a spectrum of frequency, like a radio dial. Where you're dialed dictates what you experience.

I agree, now if that photon or electron mass object(s) for form or join into a neural network of others in our brains for many years that can percieve a reality limited by our receptors...what is the life force called that we see in trillions of fellow perceptable creatures anyway. Good points.

Nice to find you here Uli. My 5 cents: I think that for everyone who is interested in non-dualism/Advaita/Satsang, Wholeness Work by Connirae Andreas will be a revelation. I've been going to Satsangs for 25 years, and it has changed my life for the better. Only gratitude. "I am That" has been beside my bed for 30 years. Absolute beauty. But one thing no Advaita teacher has ever been able to do was to provide students with a method. Connirae did find the way. 'To meet the beloved' without it being dependent on grace, WOW, now that is exciting. And of course the I that meets/recognizes itself as Awareness is always an experience of grace. So yes, everybody can wake up in this lifetime with Wholeness Work. I'm really curious when the Advaita crowd catches on for real.

I think this is all true -- For example, I've only ever existed in this one singular moment that all of the world rolls through. What I don't believe, is that the awareness of this grants magical powers to edit the universe, the ability to fly, to turn water into wine, or any such things. There's a difference between the dreams I have at night, and the material world that my body exists in: The entire structure of the world in dreams is highly reactive to my thought and feeling, but the structure of the material world is only weakly reactive to my thoughts and feelings: essentially, only some of my body, and reactions from other intelligent beings, and the reactions of the laws of physics to my simple body motions and such. I don't think we can confidently leap from, "I am consciousness, located in its own dimension, independent of the space and time of this universe," to a kind of total estrangement of consciousness from this world of matter, space, time. Such a divorce is conceivable, is imaginable, but I don't see any evidence that we can confidently state that it is actual.

Haven't quite got all he said from one listen. Sounds like "creativity" is a bit of a good "control" mechanism bc I've sometimes observed that what my imagination makes on a canvas occasionally appears in real life exactly as is. Although unplanned so maybe it can't be a deliberate act? Yesterday realized waking reality is the same old same old, and dreams (with a few rare exceptions) finds me in different locations and with different humans doing different things every dream remembered. Then the next day waking reality plays out the dream literally and symbolically. Very strange.

. Namaste! I have the greatest respect for Spira, and he is a great champion and ambassador of non duality (Advaita). So firstly, Deep respect and salutations to RS for the great work he is doing. Now in this video, it appears to me as if he has used a personal vocabulary and getting used to it can confuse one when one goes to other similar fields of study. For instance, in modern psychology the stimulus response theory would use a vocabulary which could be said to be different. In that context, first there is a sensory sensing by the sense organs, which transmit the sensed stimulus to the mind, which does the perception and pass it on to the intellect which does the cognition and gives appropriate order for response to the motor organ. So the work flow here is - there is a sensing by the sense organs, followed by a perception by the mind. RS has the same view, but uses a opposing vocabulary. When you mean the same thing, perhaps it is of advantage to use the same vocabulary. IDK really, please correct me where I am going wrong with this. Classical Indian Advaita which probably goes back to 6000BC or so, seems to agree with this stimulus response model (to the extent mentioned here). There also, the model says, the Indriyas sense the objects of stimuli first. (Here, the word Indriya may not mean exactly the sense organ, rather it means “the command centre of the sense organ”. Actual physical Sense organ is clubbed with physical body, but indriya is the command centre of the sense organ. This is just a disclaimer, and for practical purposes, let us say it is sense organ for the limited context of this note). Then comes the Manas (mind) which weighs the pros and cons of the sensed stimulus in a process called Vritti (=modification / ripple of the mind). Then comes the Buddhi (intellect) which determines the content of the sensed stimulus from the pros and cons provided by manas. Thus here, hunger may not be a “sensation” in the literal as there is no sense organ for hunger and thus there is no Indriya for it. (Senses are only 5 - sound, touch, sight, taste and smell, so only 5 sense organs are defined - ears, skin, eyes, tongue and nose). Yet hunger is perceived in the mind as a modification of the mind, Vritti. The stimulus comes probably from Prana (= Vital forces) which creates a Vritti in the Manas. To me it seems like both modern psychology and classical advaita seems to agree with the same process and vocabulary, but RS has customized the vocabulary, probably his pedagogy follows this. Mostly he stays true to classical Advaita. Definitely the concept of dream and time and space. Chaitanyam (consciousness / awareness) is not in time and space. Rather time and space (and causality) is in Chaitanyam. Modern physics also agrees time and space are emergent properties, not fundamental aspect of universe. Namaste! .

Much of Indias philosophy and religion has come from the previous megalithic civilisations which were destroyed at around the time of the Younger Dryas period 12,000 years ago. They took a different path to our civilisation. They understood the nature of the Universe in terms of resonance. The survivors tried to restart their civilisation at Godepli Tepi, but failed. Tesla got a glimpse of this knowledge but was supressed by vested interests.

There are two kinds of energy - spiritual and material (matter). They may interact with each other, but never merge as one, like oil and water. Our real identity is spiritual (spirit soul, consciousness, life, the “I”). Whatever happens to the body never touches the spirit soul, who remains the same, eternally, untouched by all material afflictions. “For the soul there is never birth nor death. Nor, having once been, does he ever cease to be. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing, undying and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain.” - Bhagavad Gita As It Is 2.20 The body is governed by space and time, but the spirit soul is outside of its influence. Time and space will eventually be gone, but the spirit soul exists eternally.

@neomagnon
@neomagnon Жыл бұрын
@@taniakozak7772 Well, only an ignorant fool (not knowing) will claim there is no matter. Atoms are the basic unit of matter, scientists are unanimous about that. They even identified the states of matter - solid, liquid, and gas, as taught in schools. Material forms, including the universe, are made of matter, they are real and can be perceived by the senses. Of course, they are in reality just an illusion because eventually, everything will be destroyed and disappear, like soap bubbles a mirage in the desert. Only the spirit souls and atoms are eternal. Atoms follow the first law of thermodynamics - the law of conservation of energy. There are three energies of God: 1)Spiritual - spirit souls/consciousness and the spiritual world, 2) Material - all things made of atoms and even subtle material energies like gravity, feelings and emotions, and mind. 3) Marginal - spirit souls temporarily embodied in material bodies, that can be in the body or out of the body, as a result of karmic reactions or spiritual God-realization and enlightenment.

@neomagnon Жыл бұрын
When the universes came/expanded into existence, God, out of His omnipotence, inserted time to measure the events/circumstances and space so that matter/atoms have something to expand into where prior to the event there was no time and space. There is a beginning and an end in this infinite cyclical event. Nonduality is diametrically opposed to our common experience. Just a wishful speculation and an illusion and the desire to be God. The variety of our thoughts and disagreements points to individuality. There is never a time we identify with everyone and everything. "Achintya bhedabheda tattva" means simultaneously one and yet different. God is one with his creations that emanated from Him but they are eternal individuals, like the individual molecules in one vast ocean. A movie is a series of individual films/clips. If you take out just a few clips, the movie is not complete anymore. And the watchers are individual entiries sitting at a distance separate from the movie screen. They may "merge" with the movie emotionally, but not their individual personalities. And they are fully aware they are just watching a movie. If we are one and the same Supreme God, how did we forgot about it? What kind of God that forgets He is God? A king may disguise as a commoner, but he knows and never forgets he is the king.

Another (related) way of explaining this is to consider "Of the 3 aspects of time, when does awareness take place? Does awareness take place in the past, future, or present?" Clearly, awareness can only occur in the present. So how long is the present? Well, the present is immeasurable, it has no "length" in time. As soon as you conceptualize the present it is no longer "the present" and has become "the past." Conceptualizing (thinking of) "the present" takes place in time, but in that process of "thinking" awareness is completely lost (gone). Awareness (aka "the present") is not within time, it is completely "outside" of time. Awareness (knowing of being) is what you are - and that is not something that is bound by time, in fact, it's the other way around.

There is only one free will, the will that is free of itself in one's conscience. I think the conscience is the place where the connection is made between the body and the actual location of consciousness. How else to explain how I was able to have a lucid dream of exact future events in real time in color, about 15 seconds, in a place I had never been before, about two hours before it happened? And I believe that place is located at the heart of every atom, and that space/time flows inward to that place. It is this flow that creates our world of matter, energy and information, when structure, the shell of an atom and all smaller parts, results from a convergence transition of that flow, analogous to the standing wave you will see as river water flows over a rock in the current. Structure, the turbulent chaos (electrons) that piles up at each boundary, exists so long as the flow exists. Interrupt that flow with the right combination of physical forces, and you can travel to other worlds, intact, in that flow. I think that is how ET's are coming and going to and from Earth in these small craft. Interrupt the flow a little and you can break free of gravity. Stop the flow and you 'disappear' to the sub-atomic, fractal infinity, where the fractal nature of things allows for unique 'addresses' of other places--the only chance one would have to navigate there. If a mind can do it, a machine can be built to do the same. And it is not risk-free. You get something a little off and you can incur damage to your vehicle. I think that's how the Varginha , Brazil UFO got a rip in it and subsequently crashed as it popped up there from the subatomic world.

Alignment with the higher self unleashes the ability to make choices. The reason we suffer from a low self perspective is because we have a limited view and our first instinct is to change, not to choose while nothing can be changed. There are infinite choices you can make, and with every choice you make, there is another version of you. No matter how many choices you make in time in space, there is still only one version of you from a higher self perspective - THE ONE.

@@BeardOvBorgia - I’m very familiar with what CERN is doing and most of their attempts, though it has merit, is founded on some bad assumptions. God, crystals, magnetism? God is the closest description, magnetism is a dualistic byproduct, and crystals are simply a method of manipulating a byproduct of electromagnetic fields. If you really want to know, go to the source of everything. It’s very simple and obvious. Yes, it’s the appearance of the nondualistic, that creates the dualistic properties of our reality, but until the proof is made available then it’s philosophical and requires belief. Everyone is afraid of the truth so they hide behind belief and philosophy. Both have merit and value but that doesn’t help people - other than providing a warm blanket. YES, scientific backing can be achieved and it already has - You just haven’t seen it!

What he is saying is just a closer, more accurate model of the human structure to negate the grossly inaccurate model that we have adopted. But, I venture to say that real seeing from pure consciousness , negates all models. As brilliant Rupert often gives his disclaimer or admonition, “this is a compassionate concession.” Quite honestly speaking, my intellect is not strong enough to ever follow one of his “compassionate concessions,” step by step, from start to finish, without getting lost at some point, and trying to get back on track. But, in all honesty, I was never a great student. Probably why in my search, I chose the easier paths of Bhakti, devotion, service, love, surrender, prayer, some ritual, dharanga, (concentration) and somehow just approaching meditation through Rupert’s help, and Nisargadatta’s help of observing the “I AM.”

This reminds me of thoughts on a moment. Once you ponder the future, you must 1st create the moment in the present. Next, you contemplate the future. Lastly, you process the moment as the past. All this happens simultaneously in any given moment. So technically, living in the moment transcends time and space. It is closest thing we have to time travel.
