Every time I serve I feel like I am receiving more than I give. Serving others is how I have found myself!

I love my relief society. They are so sweet and we all love to serve each other the best we can. I can see the value in every woman in my ward, I hope to try and let some of them know how much I appreciate them today.

Eu estive no templo ontem e estive no templo hoje e estarei no templo amanhã.

The Relief Society should give the sisters time to relax and have good mental well being.

Speak to your leaders about having activities, you could even offer to help out or suggest particular topics.

This feels so placating. I'm not going to serve, serve, serve at the expense of myself. I've spent too many years trying to serve with an empty cup and believing that I never did enough. I deserve to take time for myself. Women need to be in roles making decisions in the church instead of giving free labor their entire lives. In their wards, stakes, and general authority callings.

Very very sad that you feel and have felt that way. Why did you serve if it bothered you so much?
@bethsyoung6412 ай бұрын
@@denieceallred3905Probably peer shaming. And the mens’ priesthood leaders asking/assigning without regard to the family situation, usually postponing the expected blessings until the next life, and too often they use the members for free labor to make the upper echelon leaders happy (a necessary piece of the hierarchy climb).

@@bethsyoung641 "Hierarchy climb"? 🤨🤔 Such spiritual leadership isn't a role to covet. The responsibilities alone are too much for most people to handle, even those that have been leaders in business positions! 😯 Add to that the growing hate and it's much easier to not be in the spotlight. As for pressure to serve in callings 🤷, that's ultimately the individuals' choice. Learning to say no, or learning why a position might be good for you, or just being happy to help others is part of the wonderful freedom of our agency. 🤍

Your feelings and experiences are valid. Thank you for being brave and vulnerable to share them. I trust that you can be guided by the Spirit to know how and when and whom to serve, and to find ways to influence positive change towards more equality in church councils.
