I used to play Minecraft on my phone and one thing I definitely don't miss is the reach distance. Toycat talks about survival mode in this video, but creative mode + pocket edition meant 10 blocks of block placement without moving!

Pillar-jump concrete powder in a 1-deep lake, then repeatedly mine the bottom block. It's a lot less tedious way to make hard concrete than placing all over the place and re-mining.

Or use a simple piston setup to push concrete when you place it. Eliminates the time spent pillaring up and the time waiting for it to fall.

Pillar jump the concrete powder, then pour water down the side. Dig down. It’s much faster because you don’t need to wait for the block to fall

do that in two columns next to each other so while one block is falling you can mine the other that has already fallen

On Java you can just put the concrete in your offhand and a pickaxe in your main hand and hold left and right click to do it super fast

I’ve been playing bedrock console since the 1.16 update, survival only with a long term world and have noticed only recently that I was able speed place blocks at head height whilst sprinting, adjacent, and against the block parallel to me. It meant making simple builds like large pyramids very quick to construct. Not sure how long I would have been able to do that, I feel like it’s something I would have noticed before now.

Crouch and hold jump and the place block button, while holding the two buttons and being crouched it’ll allow you to place blocks very high without even moving your crosshair, the blocks will stack up to like 10.

People give me side eye for playing technical Minecraft on a tablet, but this is why! With a keyboard and Xbox controller attached, I get the best of all worlds, including that sweet sweet extended reach when I need it. And since Apple decided to put an overpowered desktop chip in my iPad for some reason, performance is pretty smooth. IDK what monstrosity you were trying to play on, but even if you’re not an Apple fan, any decent Android tablet is likely to play Bedrock way better. 🤣

Yup, any Android-based device will do, even an Amazon tablet. Trust me, I use an Amazon tablet to play Minecraft and I use all 3 input methods, touch, keyboard/mouse, and controller. That way, I can use the crouch-toggling of controller, the fast movement of keyboard/mouse, and the long range of touchscreen.

Apple makes keyboards for their computers, so it would make sense for the keyboards to connect to an iPad, since, well, they were made by the same company. If that doesn't work, try using a lightning or thunderbolt-to-usb-a to plug in a tethered keyboard.

The Armadillo has been confirmed to eat termites for when termites get added into the game. They will be very useful as Termites will probably be able to eat ALL wooden blocks.

well java you can not place blocks infront of you like bedrock but I voted armadillo but java can not do block placement because in java you have to crouch to the end then place if you are over cliffs or lava while in bedrock you can just place

Whether or not this is just an advert for Bedrock, I will say I've been playing Bedrock lately, and I am enjoying it. I think Java is still my personal favorite, but there's a lot to love about Bedrock too. So now, I regularly play both. P.S. I desperately hope they fix the water noise too. If there's even so much as an item floating in the water, it's all you can hear. I chose a weird time to get into Bedrock.

Everyone I know has been asking for or suffering from the lack of extended block reach, yet I know nobody IRL who uses wolves other than occasional base decoration. However, I know nobody that doesn’t build, but many people who don’t use wolves, and while my sample size may not represent the minecraft community as a whole, I believe it gives some insight into the utility of these two items.

Coming from someone who doesn't care enough to go out of my way to vote on any of these events and only occasionally acknowledges the game due to the mods that are made for it, I really don't understand the desire for extended block reach for the purpose of placing blocks (I feel like 8/10 times you're trying to place a block from far away, you're probably already going to be connecting said blocks to where you currently are), so I genuinely don't see the appeal to the crab claw. I could understand the appeal if it also increased your reach for breaking blocks though, as that would actually be a convenience. As generally if you're trying to break a far away block, you're doing it for the sole purpose of breaking something, so having to place a block to reach what you're breaking ends up giving you more work to do. If anything, I would only want the crab because it's a crab, and crabs are rad (also, 14:13 - Yes, that is what crab eyes are supposed to look like. I'm fairly certain that all non-extinct Crabs have eye stalks, it's just that some species have less pronounced stalks). Its singular proposed gimmick doesn't really appeal to me. So I'm rather pleased with the Armadillo winning, as they're also rad and I'm down for some wolf armor, especially if they eventually let us enchant wolf (and horse) armor with a unique set of enchantments. That way we can choose to make our animal companions a formidable ally. As an example: I know one of the reasons people don't use Wolves is because things like fall damage and lava can quickly kill them. So what if you had armor with a feather fall enchantment and a fire immunity enchantment (think something like the Fire Resistance potion) applied to it?

For me, an extended block reach is much more appealing to me than a dog armor that's been compared to a horse armor. Also, it's been said that it's not just extending your placing block reach but also extending your breaking block reach. Maybe, we definitely see different potentials for different mobs.

Hopefully they add both the armadillo (which I voted for) and the crab. However, I guess the vote also did reveal just how many dog owners play minecraft. Willing to be that a lot of them probably name the first few wolves they tame after their irl dogs, just like I do. And a lot of them probably want to be able to take their canine friends with them everywhere but are afraid to lose them, just like me. Sort of the same issue with otters in Ark Survival. You sort of grow attached to having them around, to a point where losing them is almost like losing a pet irl. However, pets/tames in minecraft do not level up and do not have the ability to increase max hp and damage like in Ark Survival. Sort of wish they would add a leveling system to minecraft where you can increase your character’s stats and your pet’s/tame’s stats.

Heh, well I can tell you why your framerate sucked. You had the GPU disconnected, it's in the base with the keyboard, so if you disconnect the keyboard, your framerate goes with it ^^
