If you’re looking to keep the engine cover carpet off but end up wanting a cover, I’ve been working with Henry Chea to design a quick release engine cover that doesn’t require removal of all the interior trim to get to the engine compartment. He started a thread over on Planet-9 in the 981 mods section if you want to read more 👍🏼

Your videos are such wonderful resources. I’m adding a Soul Valve controller to my GT4 this weekend. Seeing the check valve and solenoid put together is a huge help. Keep up the great videos and thanks again!!!

Nice car man! Great decision going with SOUL...the best in the biz for these Flat 6's. I went with headers as well, and couldn't be any happier with it.

Got the same one myself! It's the best bang for buck exhaust out there for the Cayman and the customer service is amazing! Agree! It completely changes the driving experience. I've had mine for 4 years and I still love it! Only issue is it drones for me under load or going up a hill around 2300 - 2700 rpm. Otherwise it's the best haha

Hey Iggy! Glad you're still enjoying your system! - Mike

Thanks for the thorough walk through Tommy. The fuse tap was a great solution, I assume you ran the wires to the solenoid through a grommet in the firewall? This video gave me the confidence to tackle the job myself.
@TommyLGarage2 жыл бұрын
Glad it helped. And yes it was ran through the firewall.

Hi! It's a great video to learn from😁 I'm going to install the exhaust too, can you elaborate on how to install the ground?
@TommyLGarage Жыл бұрын
Ground can be added to any nut or bolt attached to the body

What is advantage to using a valved system that uses engine vacuum vs the ones that have an independent air pump unit?
@TommyLGarage Жыл бұрын
No real advantage. The independent air pump is easier to install.

2:48 On the opposite side of the solenoid there's аnothег valve under under the black rubber cap, what's that for?

@@TommyLGarage I just checked on mine, which is not yet installed, I figured when you relieve the vacuum and the valves return to the default "open" position, it sucks in air though this rubber capped valve as the other side is one way only. Then when уоu apply the vacuum is starts to suck air out of the drums on the exhaust valves which put them into the "closed" position.
@RB-ez8hb2 жыл бұрын
How do you determine which vacuum line to use? Aren’t there two types of lines one sucks air while others are pushing it.
@TommyLGarage2 жыл бұрын
Trial and error and following instructions.

Yes they can but as soon as you crank

Love the exhaust tone. Great video. For the m3 you did about 25 different exhausts. For this car how many would you do?
