Secret # 8 if you own a vehicle with a push to start ignition and the battery on your fob dies and you cant get a battery at that precise moment because maybe you are camping in the woods away from civilization , just push the start button with the actual remote rather than your finger . When the battery on your fob dies you only loose the keyless entry function , not the transponder signal .

I've had all four tires blow out on me of course at different times and let me explain something to you about tires yes it's true that with bald tires you are more apt to have a blowout...But you can still have a blowout even with brand new tires yes that has also happened to me now as far as keeping control of your vehicle you never never never step on the gas in a blowout you never never never hit the brakes in a blowout you take your foot off the gas and Coast to a stop once the car comes to a stop and it will as long as you do the steps that I'm explaining to you then once the car is almost at a dead stop then hit the brakes the way I'm telling you to do it will bring your car to a stop safely let me tell you this if you hit the gas and a blowout you're looking at a possible spin out if you hit the brakes in a blowout you're looking at a possible spin out take your foot off the gas that the car Coast look for a place to pull off the road and do so safely you do this as the car is coasting as long as you can do that safely once the car has posted almost to a stop then and only then can you hit the brakes by the time you hit the brakes you should be pulled completely off the road make sure you turn your four ways on get out and change your tire

As far as "safe passing" is concerned, if the vehicle in front of you is too wide to see around, you're better off NOT PASSING. Yes, it will take longer to get to your destination if the vehicle ahead of you is going ten mph under the speed limit, but think how long it will take to get there if you run someone off the road or go in the ditch yourself. And you won't get to your destination at all if you get in a head on collision.

You should ALWAYS put on your parking brake when not using the foot pedal. Park locks up your transmission. So when you step off the pedal, all of the car’s weight goes onto the transmission, which can wear it done and damage it.
@alm77073 жыл бұрын
I don't know how you do it, but I don't get unstuck like they show at 7:52. You use one foot on the brake the other on the gas. Get the car to move forward as much as possible and quickly apply the brake with your left foot. (see the wheel spinning forward at 7:52? before it starts sliding back is when you jamb on the brake) Now you are holding the wheels on a slight hill. Put the car in reverse and wait till you feel the transmission engage, then release brake and push gas at the same time. The car should back slightly up hill in the rut, JAMB on the brake again and do the same going forward. Each time you do this you should get a little further and hopefully out.

Rocking is a good way to torch the transmission. Try it a few times with somewhat slow shifts, then it's time to resort to other methods. Sometimes just turning the steering wheel back and forth between far left and right can do the trick, for front wheel drive, AWD, and 4WD vehicles that is.

I thought that was called pushing, like when your front tires lose traction and you push through the curve or corner. If this youtuber had even half a clue he would recommend touching (touch not hold) the brakes just as you enter the curve to shift more of the vehicle weight onto the front tires to increase front end grip.
@franciscosoares24403 жыл бұрын
Would that be oversteer
@TyGotch5 жыл бұрын
Um pushing in the clutch pedal while braking in the winter wouldn't block the tires... That makes no sense. I mean it seems like you ment to say if you don't have abs and slam on the brakes in the winter your tires will lock up and block the tires with snow but that is not at all related to pushing in the clutch pedal while braking, unless you brake like a maniac and slam on the brakes every time.

When stuck in sand or snow decreasing tyre pressure, if only a little, should be your FIRST resort. Depress the valve and count to say 20 for each tyre so the deflation is balanced. You can drive on deflated tryes without undue risk if your speed is reasonable then re-inflate at a garage.

i had a back tire of my van blow out while carrying 1000 lbs and i just let off slowly and pulled onto the shoulder with no trouble, if you keep moving the rotation of the tire will keep you up unless the tire disintegrates, also, the jand brake needs to be used and the cable lubed so it does not rust and jam, i had my master brake cylinder blow out on my in rush hour and i was able to stop with my hand brake and part it in a location where i could get a new cylinder to replace my old one. i also did a brake job and did not put the brake spring on the drum brakes properly and had the brakes not lock up doing 60 miles an hour around a bend so the hand brake saved me again. for getting stuck in snow or on icy conditions i found sand or cat litter more effective because it is course and help you to get traction.

The only way your car will slide when pressing the clutch and brake in the winter is if you press the gas and keep the clutch in and then let off both the brake and clutch. Its called a clutch kick except usually you dont use the brake. You can still press the clutch and brake because all the clutch does is not allow any power to flow through the transmission to the wheels. It does not effect braking

I live in WI and my house is on a cul-de-sac at the bottom of a steep hill. Every winter people get just a bit past my drive way and loose traction and cant make it up the hill. They back down to the flat section and try going fast. Doesnt work. It amazes me that none of the people know that they need to put the automatic transmission 1st or 2nd gear because then there is more torque to the wheels and higher traction. If I am out snow blowing I will knock on their windows and tell them this, then watch them zoom away up the hill.

And never overtake when you see there is a bend in the road and you can't see the other side of the road. Stay behind the other car until you are sure the road is clear.

The momentum method can be bad for the transmission when getting out of a situation. Switching from drive to reverse while moving can damage the transmission.
@robertlaw40735 жыл бұрын
The issue is not using the clutch and the brake and the same time in snow. The issue is when you downshift and lock the wheels letting out the clutch in low gear to quickly.... this is a bigger issue for motorcycles BTW, as with their smaller contact surface with the road means that any braking in a corner will substantially reduce the lateral grip, so even a moderate downshift in a corner can be bad news.

And both times I was headed to California from Arizona.. both times all I did was grab the wheel with both of my hands very firmly, remove my foot from the gas or the brake pedal, but my turn signal on and start to merge over to the right. the particular stretch of highway I was on is sand dunes and going into the middle is not a good idea unless you own a military grade Hummer. the first time was a front tire blowout and the last time was a rear.. hopefully this helps
