You Cannot Obey God Without God

Amen! I was a Hindu monk for 25 years until God and the Holy Spirit dramatically came into my life while was living in India just over two months ago. They drove away all the evil spirits of the idols I worshiped right before my eyes and filled me with so much love and powerful conviction to obey the commandments of Jesus Christ. None of this, including my daily obedience, is possible without the mercy and presence of God in my mind, heart, soul and strength. Jesus is the only way, truth and life. Like the man called Legion in Luke 8 who had thousands of unclean spirits driven out of him and was commanded to tell everyone what great things God has done for him, I joyously share my testimony. Praise God!

Voddie came from a rough background and he said something like “I would never trade all of the sin that I committed for a clean life. That sin is what makes me aware of the grace of God.” And as I thought about it, it’s true. I know that isn’t much comfort when you’re struggling but the struggle may eventually help you to understand God in a way that you otherwise would not.

Many prodigal sons will receive the new birth and many devout church going sons will become jealous and fall away. Jesus isn't on the corner begging anybody to come to him! We were over in Rochester MN and drove thru Minneapolis MN and we really wanted to visit Bethlehem Baptist Church but we wern't able too for multiple reasons but I just have wanted to see you and be able to thank you in person for putting ballast in my boat. We can't obey God without loving Him more than anything and anyone else. The first commandment is the most broken commandment. We cannot keep the first commandment or any of the other commandments without loving God more than everything. Anything less than 100% is breaking the first commandment. But how do we love God? We must confess, repent, pray and listen to Him, and ask Him to help us cooperate Him. We need to be born again from above, and keep cooperating with God. As we continue to love God stronger and stronger, He helps us to obey! Amen. He that loveth not God breaks His commandments.

In explaining the transition from being born of the flesh to being born of the Spirit, Piper says, “Now, something happened, you were touched by the Spirit and you’re alive; your spirit is alive.” Piper states that this was a sovereign act of God and then explains that it is this new birth that makes it possible to have faith in Christ. He quotes 1 John 5:1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ HAS BEEN born of God. HAS BEEN born is a translation found in the ISV and ESV IS born is a translation found in the NIV, BSB, NAS, KJF, DBT, YWC and TNT There is a huge difference in meaning between HAS BEEN born and IS born, so which translation is correct? Eph 1:13 after LISTENING to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-having also BELIEVED, you were SEALED in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise It is clear from Scripture that the order of Salvation is HEAR the Word, BELIEVE and SEALED Conclusion - Piper is erroneously teaching that regeneration precedes faith.

Some may feel that it does not matter what we choose to do. To make wise decisions that please God however, we must consider the laws and principles found in his written word the bible and comply with them. Prayer will help us make decisions that relate to scriptural principles and laws. Weighty personal decisions can have quite a bearing on our spiritual health and wellfare. Every choice we make will likely affect our relationship with God----either for good or for bad. A good decision based on what we read in God's word, will strengthen our relationship with God, whereas a a bad one may damage it. This reminds me of why it does seem that the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament seem like two different Gods. They're not different Gods, but, 2000 years ago, God decided to make it perfectly clear to the world - that God, the God of the Universe, values all of us and each of us MORE than he values his own light. Up until that point, yes, we had the command to love God, and the commandment to love our neighbor. But something enormous happened. God himself placed a value on each person - we were no longer just images of God. On Calvary God declared to the world he values each one of us even more than He values his own life. I like many people struggled with important things in the Old Testament - particularly slavery. But in truth, before Christ's death, kings could become slaves and slaves could became kings (I.e. Look at Joseph). After God paid the ransom on our lives with his own life, God put a value on each person, that the world had never seen. I've always been proud of the fact that the global movement against slavery was born out of the Evangelical movement. Today, everyone takes it for granted that slavery is evil, but it appears that the first men to recognize this were men who also recognized that we're not just images of God, but people who God proved in his actions that He values us so much he gave his life for us. This is, I believe, why God's Word stopped condoning so much slavery in the New Testament. i had backslid and God brought me back. i am going through the motions....i read my bible daily and go to church and serve. where has my fire gone? why dont i pray as much? why dont i get excited about the Lord like i used to? why do i doubt sometimes if i believe? i spend alot of time worried about my loss of fire. ..doubts....and if im saved now. am i really saved?

Thank you that's exactly what I'm talking about... You know what I'm missing... I'm missing that fellowship at a church I'm missing confusing in Real Christians that actually do Care about what I'm going thru I can't confide in my family for anything so I get lost and ask a lot of questions about my faith I know God hears our prayers maybe we just have to wait on his Timing, God bless you guys.
