I think the biggest thing that's worked for me kind of lines up with this. it's what Nicholas said that made sense to me, you can never start the down swing early enough. When I started practicing that this winter, my ball striking has been unreal, especially for me. The elbow seems to be in the position you're showing, I open open my left side naturally. The swing thought I use is like I"m hitting the ball like it's behind, that type of "feel" has made my swing so much smoother and natural feeling. It's like i don't even worry about hitting the ball. JMO.

I'm a new player (approx 6 month), and this method felt natural to me from day one, but when I started lessons from my local club, the coach had me shifting my weight. I'm now back to stack and tilt and LOVING the consistency. Tom, you are a great content creator, keep up the great videos!

I sincerely appreciate your kind words, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content for this fantastic Stack and Tilt swing system and my teaching style are resonating with you!! Indeed, the need for a weight shift in the golf swing is one of the greatest fallacies ever taught, and it has led many an amateur golfer into the vast abyss of chronic inconsistency and frustration. This system certainly allows for some transfer of pressure into the trail side during the takeaway. After all, we are moving the mass of the arms and club backwards during that initial stage of the swing. Some like to sense the dynamic pressure shifts; others prefer the feel of a gradual increasing of weight load into the lead leg from the start. However, in either scenario the key here is that we do not allow our mass - and thereby our swing center and low point - to drift back at any point. In the swing I teach we start with our weight forward (generally 55/45 for the short and mid irons, 60/40 for the longer clubs), gradually add more forward weight load into the transition (70/30), 80/20 halfway down, 90/10 impact, and 95/5 finish. There's no "weight shift"; instead, it's just a gradually increasing load onto the lead side. And the result is a centered, low-maintenance, body-friendly, consistent, and tremendously powerful motion. Most of these golf instructors at local clubs/ranges want you to book as many lessons as possible (cash flow). I've taken lessons a few times over the years. They all change your grip, build a reverse-pivot into your swing, then spend 3-4 more le$$ons getting rid of that reverse pivot. Tom's videos use common sense/logic that I wish I had known when I started, but KZbin wasn't around back then, and Tom probably wasn't born yet! : )

🗣️TOM! I've gone from Backhoe Bob to Bobby Bomber thanks to you. The S&T swing has made a dramatic difference. Although I've seemed to have lost some yardage but my strikes are crispy and straight with no hitting behind the ball on my last round. I'm sure I'll get the yardage back as I progress with my new swing. My buddies were in awe. Couldn't be happier. Sincerely, Thank you. 🙏🏼

And you are absolutely correct about not being so concerned with distance at this juncture. Typically, once this swing is running properly on autopilot golfers experience significant increases in length. You are relatively early in the process and likely still ingraining your "feels" and thinking mechanical thoughts. When you develop sufficient confidence in the motion that you are comfortable "giving up control", you'll be able to just trust it and let it fly. At that point you'll have made that giant leap from playing "golf swing" to playing target-focused golf, and by then you should be seeing your yardages increase through the bag. Thanks for the great progress report, keep up the fantastic work, and keep on awing your dumbfounded buddies!! Tom

Tom. LOVE your instructional videos! It's helped me tremendously. "Straight arms, elbow tucked". I was wondering about the stance and your feet. They seem the same distance apart for every club instead of closer for short irons, wide for long woods. Can you comment on this? Thanks.

I'm glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you, Fred, and I'm thrilled for your improvement! We first need to be aware that camera angles can greatly skew the viewer's perspective on both ball position and stance width. The stance does widen incrementally as we move up from short irons to the longer clubs, the widest being with the driver where the insides of the heels are shoulder-width apart. I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you, Paul, and I hope it performs well when you put it into practice! Indeed, it is very simple to repeat since we don't have to "drop it in the slot" - as many are known to say - if we just put it there in the first place! Absolutely, it applies to the "Big Dawg", and if you look closely at the compilation of still photos of those Tour players that I featured at various points in the video you'll notice that some of them were swinging a driver. It is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWHbpJaDrrNmrJo Here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” where you can learn some aspects of the system I teach in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/ This will provide a nice foundational understanding of the swing keys that will ultimately get you mashing the ball through your entire bag. I'm glad to know that this lesson video resonated with you! Your shanks can be the result of a variety of actions: 1) You may be too steep on the downswing and thereby exposing the hosel to the ball; 2) Conversely, your downswing path may be too in to out; 3) You may be rolling the face open during the backswing; 4) Your wrists may not be hinging properly (which is often the case when a golfer tries to manufacture or force the hinge rather than just allowing it to happen); 5) You are setting up with the ball positioned at the heel of the club; 6) You are losing your pre-established relationship with the ball (i.e.: a deficiency in the Tilt component); 7) More... What I'm getting at is that there are a number of potential causes, and without actually seeing your swing it's impossible for me to specifically identify the culprit(s) behind those hosel rockets. However, based on your description it likely includes #6 to some degree, for which this lesson from my channel's archives on Arnold Palmer's favorite tip may help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJ3CZamlpd1mrqM FYI, in my online school you'll find diagnostic and corrective tools for resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues. Have you looked into it? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. Thank you Tom great video You mention that you take the triangle @ address and swing it to the top. There are some interesting ideas of how to exactly effectuate that motion Pete Cowen suggests that the hands and arms work in opposition- not together P2 to P4 How do you think the forearms move in backswing ? Which way do they rotate ? Many thanks
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 10 ай бұрын
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! With regard to your question, I think I pretty much answered the "how to" in the lesson itself. Put yourself in the ideal P6 attack position, reverse that back to the top of backswing, and then from there take it back to address. No active manipulations or contrived rotations. The proper loading and unloading of the power accumulators will occur on autopilot if we simply preset the correct structure and then allow the big muscles to control the motion without trying to micromanage anything. Would you like to learn some key aspects of the swing I teach in a more structured manner? So what you’re saying is that if I buy this gadget i should be able to get into this perfect position. I don’t come over the top but i think I cast even from the inside - my wrists just don’t seem strong enough to be able to hold the correct angle. This gadget I assume will stop that (in to out) casting too. I’ve enjoyed your S&T videos so much and I’ve patiently rebuilt my swing through them but I still can’t keep my wrists in control and still find taking a divot difficult. I'm very glad to know that my instruction content for this fantastic swing system is resonating with you, Jane! I really do not believe that this is a matter of strength as long as your clubs and shafts are correctly fitted for you. The swing is a sequential, properly ordered orchestration. This is why it's always best to search upstream for the true cause of an issue rather than try to put a band aid on the symptom. On the flip side, this also means that if you nail each successive variable - starting with the foundations of the setup - then you are facilitating the correct execution of the next swing element. (That's precisely how the step-by-step, position-by-position lessons and the drills of the online school are designed to work, and why they are so effective at getting golfers on the fast track towards consistent ball striking bliss.) Yes - the Precision Impact should help you immensely with your early extension issue as it is going to effectively "lock" your wrists into the proper position during the swing so you can then ingrain your "feel" for it. If you do decide to purchase it please be sure to use the CRISPYKFC code at checkout to claim your SagutoGolf discount! Keep up the great work, and let's get you some crispy divots!! 💪💪 Tom

Hi Tom, thanks so much for your knowledge and positive cheerful attitude Question, what do you feel in your back foot on the down swing? I'm glad to know that my instruction content and teaching persona are resonating with you, Bill! So, here's the thing: The need for a _weight shift_ in the golf swing is one of the greatest fallacies ever taught, and it has led many an amateur golfer into the vast abyss of chronic inconsistency and frustration. This system certainly allows for some transfer of _pressure_ into the trail side during the takeaway. After all, we are moving the mass of the arms and club backwards during that initial stage of the swing. Some like to sense the dynamic pressure shifts; others prefer the feel of a gradual increasing of weight load into the lead leg from the start. There's no "weight shift"; instead, it's just a gradually increasing load onto the lead side. And the result is a centered, low-maintenance, body-friendly, consistent, and tremendously powerful motion.) Early in the downswing the lead knee retains its backswing flex and the trail knee regains its address flex, and as the hips continue to move laterally targetward while the upper torso remains in place, the golfer is then well positioned for an upward thrust with the legs as butt tucks under the hips and towards the target - a very powerful and body-friendly action, much like that of a high jumper. These actions should occur naturally and in response to the properly executed dynamic motions of the swing, but initially it may be necessary to build in some "feels" for it. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option for you would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many seasoned, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Thanks, Tom

I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you!! With regard to the shafts, my PXG's are equipped with AeroTech Steel Fiber shafts in S-flex. However, this information is of absolutely no material value to you as those shafts were specifically fitted to me and my swing characteristics. If you are considering re-shafting then I strongly suggest a session with a professional fitter to get yourself dialed in to the best shaft for YOU. The differences can be dramatic. As for your back pain, this is a proven very body-friendly method, further validated by the fact that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built. Have you looked into the comprehensive, sequential learning platform of the online school yet? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Great advice, I used the technique yesterday and was doing fine, but I have one question; any tip on how to start the downswing, hips first?
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 10 ай бұрын
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Michael! How to initiate the downswing is a loaded question because it is so dependent on individual tendencies that I cannot give a generalized answer. If I tell you that it's a lateral hip slide but your downswing already naturally has sufficient forward force, then you'll hit pushes and/or hooks all day long, and if I tell you to rotate your hips but you are already naturally applying enough outward force, then your destination is pull/slice city! I could also say the shoulders, or dropping the hands, or getting the lead arm off the chest, or rolling your trail foot targetward, or increasing pressure into the lead leg, etc. Whew! You get what I'm saying, right?.... This is why I do my best to convey multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. We're all different physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with one golfer may not necessarily work for another. The lessons on this channel - while fully aligned with the swing method I teach - address a variety of topics, issues, feels, and/or common flaws/fixes from one episode to the next. They are certainly not intended to be taken as a comprehensive, step-by-step, position-by-position learning platform like my online school, which I strongly recommend to anyone who truly wishes to get on the proper path towards owning this swing as it will make for a far more efficient and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through my KZbin content. Hi Gerald, I could be wrong as I review and respond to so many comments, but I believe I may have already replied to a previous message you had sent on this same topic . My apologies if that was not the case. Anyway, it is certainly acceptable to have a few inches of space between the trail elbow and the torso at the top, just like I have in my swing. The key is that the arm has not lost its "tucked" orientation and the elbow is definitely not flying away, meaning that it is in perfect position to reconnect in the downswing. For most amateurs the "feel" of maintaining that tuck is very helpful to achieve this desired action. Tom

Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed it! I was using JumboMax Ultralite grips in extra-large for much of 2022 and the first part of 2023. I had wanted to give them a try for a few reasons, including the fact that DeChambeau uses them and we share similar swing philosophies. I personally love the feel as well as how they help to keep my hands quiet through the zone. Now, having said that, I purchased a new set of PXG's in the spring of 2023, and since they don't carry the Jumbo's in-house I went with their largest available grip, which is a midsize. I absolutely love the clubs, and I'm putting the factory grips through the playing test before deciding whether or not to have them regripped. There are no issues with the Jumbos and I still really like the way they feel; that's just where I'm at presently. The Jumbos are not necessarily for everyone - and my fingers are a bit longer than average - so I routinely tell folks to "try before you buy." However, having a properly sized grip that feels both comfortable and secure is critically important as it is our only connection to the object that is going to deliver us blissful joy or deep anguish, yet it is perhaps also the most overlooked equipment fitting component in golf. The golf swing is indeed overly complicated in particular by one part of the human body, Ronald: the brain and all the swing nonsense and misguided instruction it has been fed. Garbage in, garbage out; and countless golf swings have sadly been trashed as a result. This is not saying that golf is "easy" as it most certainly is anything but. However, the complexities of the swing - both real and perceived - can indeed be greatly simplified as demonstrated here in this "set it and keep it" lesson! Thanks for your message! Tom

The answer lies in ball flight laws, Andre. Clubface angle relative to target line is the primary influencer of the ball's starting line and face relative to path determines direction and degree of curvature. From there we can then do some reverse engineering to identify and neutralize the cause of a sideways shot. There are just too many potential variables and unknowns for me to make an accurate diagnosis regarding your hooks. For example, if your path was previously too steep and you were making compensations to prevent the ball from slicing off the planet - perhaps a very strong grip or setting up with a closed face - then those compensations could certainly result in a hook if you have successfully corrected your path. Other things to consider are your ball position is too far forward, your hands are too far back, your weight is not forward enough at impact, more..... See what I mean? Too many possibilities. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option for you would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many seasoned, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom

@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 10 ай бұрын
It will increase a "click" or two, Ralph. Without a club in your hand, have a look at your trail hand/wrist as you hinge it straight up - just as would happen in a backswing - and how this action naturally increases the angle between the back of the hand and the forearm. This is the "wedge" that is formed without any contrived action. That wedge is then retained through impact. It should release - again, on autopilot - immediately past impact at the point where both arms are straight - and will then reform when the wrists rehinge into the finish.

Tom, my risk in this 'position' is that in order to get the 'feel' that my trail arm is tucked in, it gets stuck and forces my clubhead open at impact AND makes it almost impossible to follow through and have a proper release. I get fat shots and moonball slices. Trying to get to this position also seems to force my trail arm into a very 'inside my lead arm" position that causes my right shoulder to be too low and my left shoulder too high in the backswing. I just am not a huge fan of trying to feel this position.

Whatever works best for you, Erick. However, it must be said that when properly executed this will absolutely not result in your shoulders leveling out or cause you to take it back too much to the inside. In other words, I do not see how this "set it and keep it" lesson would have us losing our relationship with the ball. As for forcing the face open, there is nothing here that would encourage such an action, again - if properly executed as I described it. Having said that, it is important to understand that I do my best to convey multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. I’m a ‘fat guy’ and for me if my starting position has my elbow touching the right side of my rib cage, I also get ‘stuck’ on the follow through. Slices and pushes. For my body type I had to adjust to the eight elbow starting from tucked a little more up in front of of my belly. As long as my turn back creates the ‘waiter tray’ and the front motion stays ‘tucked’ but on right front of my stomach, not ribs, I get good impact and follow through. I don’t know your body type but that’s the adjustment I had to make

Absolutely, and if you notice in the still shots of those Tour players that I featured at various points in the video, some of them were swinging a driver. Dear Tom, great reminder. Funny how things one thinks to know get lost over the time and one does not even recognize it. Reworked on your trail elbow tuck in worked brilliant with all irons up to the 5. However, trying to carry this over to the driver from the tee resulted in really bad misses (most topped) mainly because I was completely unable to find the sweet spot anymore. Really having no clue what that is about but it felt strange and wrong right from the beginning. Any tips on this?
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 10 ай бұрын
Hi Marc, It is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWHbpJaDrrNmrJo Beyond that, if you search the word "drive" on this channel you'll see some related content. Oftentimes when golfers are hitting everything well except for the driver it can be attributed to one of the following: 1) Their hips are not continuing their lateral slide through impact. This is common with the driver as the wider stance means that the hips have a greater distance to travel. If the hips stop moving laterally towards the target on the downswing then their rotation takes over, inhibiting any further necessary forward weight loading (we should be 80/20 forward halfway down, 90/10 at impact, and 95/5 in the finish), changing the low point and rerouting the club into a steeper angle of attack (AoA). This can produce a variety of undesirable results including fat and thin contact, topped shots and popups, straight pulls, and “banana” slices. Of great importance is keeping your upper torso/head in place (in other words, not moving towards the target from a face-on view) while the hips execute the lateral slide action. This preserves the swing center and the desired shallow AoA. 2) They are not allowing the length of the club to dictate the backswing path and are getting too steep as a result. The shaft of the driver is considerably longer than the other clubs and thus requires more of an around the body backswing as established by the shaft plane at address. It may "feel" flat as they take it back along the shaft plane for the first few feet, but as long as they maintain the "weight forward, shoulder down, and hands in" components while allowing the club to work around them, it should put them in the proper position at the top so they can attack the ball from the inside. (A good feel for that lead shoulder is "down and in, under the chin".) 3) Many believe - and some even teach - that we must try to "hit up on the ball" with the driver. However, consider that in our stock setup with the driver the hands are even with the inside of the lead thigh (as they are with all clubs when playing a standard shot) and our ball position is even with the inside of the heel of the lead foot. This presets a very slight degree of forward shaft lean with the driver. Beyond that, the ball is behind the zero-point of the swing (which is even with the lead shoulder), meaning that without any contrived manipulations the club will still be on its descent - albeit very close to flat - at impact. So, perhaps with the exception of folks with slower swing speeds - or those Long Drive participants teeing it extra high and hitting maybe 1-2 balls out of 10 onto a 60-yard wide "fairway" - in general the path is still ever so slightly down. In fact, the PGA Tour average with the driver is actually minus (e.g.: downward) 1.5 degrees - nearly level - and it should feel level - but slightly down nonetheless. (Here is an article on Ping’s website addressing this topic - ping.com/en-us/blogs/proving-grounds/optimal-launch-and-spin#:~:text=According%20to%20Trackman%2C%20PGA%20Tour,85%25%20ball%2Dflight%20laws ) Here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” where you can learn some aspects of the system I teach in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/ This will provide a nice foundational understanding of the swing keys that will ultimately get you mashing the ball through your entire bag. @@SagutoGolf Dear Tom, thank you very much for your detailed analysis what it could be. That is very much appreciated. I worked on this since and all your suggestions since then and just wanted to add one more thing which I felt for me at least to make a difference. It is the proper trail elbow position at impact and how to keep the desired connection during the back swing. Seems (at least for me but others might also suffer from this) like with the longer clubs it is harder to keep this connection "trail elbow to trailing body side" because one thinks, the longer clubs need a much wider arc to travel to generate speed, which in turn generates the tendency to push the arms (including the elbow) too far away from the body. In the consequence trail elbow looses too much of a connection often resulting also in unwanted movements of this elbow "into the back" which makes it impossible to deliver a proper strike anymore. So resisting the urge to push the long clubs into a too wide arc also reduces the problem(s) ...at least for me...

Hi Sharon, There is no conflict. I'm am simply allowing the wrists to hinge; I am not forcing it. If we pre-establish the connections properly in the setup and have a foundational base that facilitates a full centered turn without restriction, then once we've ingrained the correct actions through sequential drilling and repetition we can entrust the motion to the big muscles and allow the arms, wrists, hands, and club to simply go along for the ride and respond accordingly as if on autopilot. The power accumulators - including the proper arm, wrist, and hand action - will then naturally load and fire with no contrived manipulations or precise timing necessary, thereby returning the face to the position pre-established at address. It's called "giving up control to gain control", and it's the formula for consistently blissful ball striking and seemingly effortless power. yes, the right hand has to be set into a postion, that will enable the wrist to arc in the backswing. and, as you demonstrate, if the elbow and the shoulder lock-up the wrist can't arc. but, you are able to position your right shoulder in a low position at address; and, this enables you to reach forwards with your arm and set your right wrist. and, it is only from watching your videos i have learned to position my right shoulder below my left shoulder, at address, just by copying the way you step into the ball with your left foot; and, then swing your right foot out slap bang into position. when the foot presses down on the ground it lowers the position of the shoulder. i have to hold the club with left hand; but, by copying the way you take you stance i am now able to position my hands further forwards at address; and, set my right wrist. all, i need to do now is be able to take the club back.

This is most definitely a "set it and keep it" lesson that allows us to truly simplify the swing to the point where - yes - all you need to do is get it started and then allow it to run as if on autopilot. As for the positioning of the shoulders, it's really not something I think about. It just occurs naturally as a result of the trail hand being below the lead hand on the grip, and further exaggerated by the the tucking of the trail elbow at address. Thanks for the message and support. I'm very glad to know that my instruction is truly benefiting you!! Tom

@@SagutoGolf well, yes; but, by placing the right foot into position in the step up it lowers shoulder and enables the hand and arm to move into position. Previously my hands were positioned behind the ball because the high position of my shoulder would not allow my arm to reach forwards. Really helps to turn the right foot out slightly in the step up, too

I have the Precision Impact. But I notice from the video that your leading wrist is extremely cupped at setup and it appears that at impact it is still somewhat cupped. Comment? I have a problem that my trailing arm gets a bit trapped behind my body on downswing even though I try hard to keep it totally tucked - seems like my body is rotating too fast for the trailing arm to stay near where it was at setup. Causes both slices and smother hooks..
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 10 ай бұрын
Well, I would certainly not classify it as "extremely cupped" lol. Any cupping at address is determined by our grip, and the fact that I've maintained that same relationship indicates that there was no handsy manipulation of the club nor any contrived or manufactured wrist action. @SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 10 ай бұрын
Which works best for you, Patrick? That's the key. I've taught trail side, lead side, no side, etc. depending on what resonates with a particular student. In fact, I do my best to convey multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. We're all different physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with one golfer may not necessarily work for another. However, no matter the variety of suggested feels/thoughts offered for a particular element of the swing, they are all directed at getting different golfers to achieve the desired positions, motions, and results. This is why I routinely recommend the online school - saguto.golf - to anyone who truly wishes to experience the joys of consistent, powerful, body-friendly ball striking bliss. The sequential lessons and drills provide the guidelines and set the boundaries, while allowing ample leeway for each individual golfer to infuse and exercise their own uniqueness. Hey Mr. LEGEND SAGUTO... I Bow to you... OOOH OMNIPOTENT BEING OF GOLF.... You teach to basically preset everything like wrists on left thigh or inner left thigh to promote shaft lean... I think good video to make, to understand shaft lean... it help make some of my fittings i did really click... a 45 degree pitching wedge is not made to be hit at 45 degrees.... it is made to be hit between 39 degrees and like 42 degrees. and I know you know this. and it is obvious that shaft lean delofts the club... but making a video about the science behind it would make a world of difference.. your constantly breaking the swing down into scienctific variables, and how to eliminate them.. if you set everything on the set up.. less variables less opportunity for mistake.. every ball one clubhead of the left heel.. ball spot remains the same your width is different etc... Sometimes just explaining that to someone could make people understand and make it click.. IDK just an IDEA for a viral video... not that you need you help.. EVERY VIDEO you do goes VIRAL...
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 10 ай бұрын
Legend? Omnipotent?? Please - let's not hold back..... 😆😆 LOL! I appreciate that, as well as the suggestion. I have spoken about shaft lean in various videos. From the face-on view the shaft would be an extension of your lead arm, with the hands positioned even with the inside of the lead thigh. This hand position remains constant throughout the bag. Ball position varies from mid-stance for the short irons and incrementally notching forward as the clubs get longer, the farthest forward being the driver when the ball is positioned even with the inside of the lead heel. Of course, these are stock ball positions which preset the desired degree of forward shaft lean, and this system affords ample leeway for individual preferences. Based on your comment it appears to me that the level of detail you seek is best found in the comprehensive, structured, sequential learning platform of my online school, and it will make for a far more efficient and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through these channel videos that jump around randomly from topic to topic. The school is where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find in-depth instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Plus, all my short game courses (putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play), advanced level content, diagnostic and corrective tools for resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues, and much more. I have several videos related to Hogan's arms, including this one on the tucked trail elbow: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGW5gJWcot5mb8k In more general terms, I do my best to convey multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. As such, it is important to understand that the lessons on this channel - while fully aligned with the swing method I teach - address a variety of topics, issues, feels, and/or common flaws/fixes from one episode to the next. They are certainly not intended to be taken as a comprehensive, step-by-step, position-by-position learning platform like the structured curriculum of my online school, which I strongly recommend to anyone who truly wishes to get on the proper path towards owning this swing as it will make for a far more efficient and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through my KZbin content. @SagutoGolf 3 ай бұрын
Amen, Billy!! Stack and Tilt is a SYSTEM for swinging the golf club and not a specific swing unto itself. The system is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology, and it is modeled on empirical observations of the game's greatest ball strikers. As such it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everyone in between, inclusive of the best players in the world. Watch any Tour event on TV and you'll see a significant number of players executing the trademark motions of the S&T system, a fact corroborated by just how many of them have a very centered swing with the lead knee flexing and the trail leg straightening during the backswing, their lead arms on or very close to their tilted shoulder planes, and their hands deep behind their trail shoulders at the top. As such, we can call it what we want or don't call it what we don't want, but the bottom line is that this is what they are doing, and it just happens that these same swing elements are shared with this dark sorcery known as Stack and Tilt (or KISS...... 😎)!! Thanks so much for your support in sharing your dramatic improvement and success, and keep up the great work!! 💪💪 Tom Saguto, PGA PS: If you've not already joined, have you considered enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? Actually, my lesson series on this "trail arm magic" has helped countless golfers across the globe to overcome wide variety of issues and experience great ball striking.
