I used to watch Jaime, I really enjoyed her makeup and movies thing, but I unsubscribed a few months back because I noticed she was making skits/jokes/comments about how fat people are made fun of by the world for funsies, and from those videos I had a feeling that weight is a touchy subject for her, which is fine I'm not trying to say she shouldn't get offended when people bring up her weight or invalidate her struggles with weight loss or her body. I think you got it pretty right about Jaime being sensitive about her own weight and it creates a blind spot about other opinions on "fat people". I think Jaime is quite genuine in her own feelings about weight and generally seems like a nice person... but she assumes that ALR is equally genuine in her intent, which we've seen to be not the case. ALR has a lot of manipulative (and some say abusive) tendencies, which would make her a shitty person in my book, regardless of the weight/fat. And then ppl also have a tendency of when they dislike a person (even if it is for their shitty behaviour), they would criticize ANYTHING about the person (maybe cause it just feels good?) and then outside observers would assume that the criticism stems from the person being fat, rather than the person being shitty.

Here's some examples of Amber being abusive: Amber has forced an ex to call her during her lunch break out of distrust. She's forced exes to sleep in the same bed as her. She's claimed she was the victim of SA, but turned out to be the perpetrator. She's constantly put her own desires above her exes, having broken down her second-to-last ex, and 'forced' her most recent ex to be monogamous when said ex is poly (She's now trying to lie about that to push blame for the break-up on her ex). She's paid for her exes and held that above their head to demand things, even having one ex give up her job to make this more effective. She's tried to blackmail her exes. She refuses to stop talking about her exes even when they explicitly and publicly ask her to do so. Hell, her most recent ex dropped her off at her new place and sped off into no-contactland. And that's not even mentioning the pets!

But this level of hypocrisy is just plain disheartening and puts me off watching her because I often have trouble separating the person as they are from their content. Saddens me how mukbang has been taken so far from the original intent. It wasn't for fat or eating kink, but for people who had anxiety about eating alone, because culturally in Korea eating is a social thing. It's common to eat together, even with just one other person. That's why in a lot of Korean mukbang it's not *just* them eating and sensually moaning (gross, why), it's them talking to you, asking if you want to try what they're having etc.

I hate mukbangs. I used to appreciate food reviews of people trying new items or restaurants I wanted to try. But it’s now become synonymous with binge eating. I watch a lot of ASMR to fall asleep. Falling asleep to something normal like ice cubes clinking in a glass, brush sounds, wood clacking, etc. But I’ve been woken up horrified now to weirdos slurping massive amounts of noodles that they’re eating with a serving fork. The eating sounds and sauces all over their faces, gross me out sooo much.

I was slipping dangerously close to being part of the FA/BP movement. I have chronic health complaints which affect my mobility and that, the pandemic and getting into a relationship at the same time made me gain so much weight and I was always blaming my health complaints and the fact I’m a bit short so it looks worse. While they are a factor I ate too much chocolate that’s the truth. I’ve lost approx a stone as I don’t weight myself but I have dropped a dress size which is usually 10-15 lb of weight loss. Many of them had no business being on it in the first place as they had preexisting conditions that contraindicate its use, and then repeatedly ignored signs that it was having a bad effect on their health. While few said it outright, the wordage they used implied that they were not using the actual Norvo brand, manufactured specifically for weight loss, but often using dupe (compounded) meds, and not getting them from their primary doctor, but from clinics or online services. That was the vibe I got from her video, noticed the similar story in every other bad experience story, and decided I'm not an idiot, I have a good PCP, I'm getting the actual branded product, I will be fine, and I was. Her video on the subject just seemed so obviously spun to fit a narrative (being fat isn't my fault, I've done everything) that I am dubious of anything she has to say.

Not always true I can’t lose weight and I found out I have a fibroid and possibly endometriosis. ​@@Lydia_Rankidon't know about Jamie, but once a professional said that I ate too little so my body wouldn't work and digest the way it was supposed to. Then I started eating more (and healthy foods), going to the gym 3-4 times a week and had a significant weight loss. Each organism is different, but I used a lot of the speech "but I don't eat that much! How come I can't lose weight?" while having 2 packs of peanuts for dinner and drinking every night

I remember Jaime said in another video that a doctor said she had a “hypothyroid” or something? Not trying to make excuses for anyone, but I believe that was an explanation for her dieting issues.

I really enjoy Jaime's movie videos, and even enjoy her sponsored ads. I think she has a lot of compassion for the similar health struggles she and ALR have. I too thought "so people hate that Amber spends a lot of money on journals... Because she's fat?" But if you keep watching you soon see the real reasons people dislike her.

Jamie French used to do movie reviews of terrible movies. Myself and a select few group of people kept telling her to review the Britney Spears movie CrossRoads. The review wasn’t an attack on Britney Spears at all. It’s just a cheesy early 2000s movie when she finally did it she proceeded to slam all of us they kept asking her to review this movie under the pretense that we were all making fun of her and her conservatorship.

We hate Amber for a lot of reasons. One I can think of offhand is how many times she's burnt her supporters by going on a 'weight loss' journey, getting all kinds of support then failing like a glass hammer. Like, lasting 2 days. At a certain point, we are done.

Then blaming her viewers for why she does what she does, admits the negativity is what gets her the most coin, claims it was never a weight loss channel to begin with, then hitting another low, filming a pity-party/come to Jesus molment, then getting back on the wagon and having all the best intentions (aka new viewers, new 💰) and doing it all over again

Michelle! Did you ever see the early 2000's British documentary about the group of obese people that walked 500 miles? I just saw it and it was pretty interesting. Not sure it was the best idea, they were in incredible pain, but they felt so accomplished in the end (those that finished.) Would love to hear your thoughts on it!!

@@Decadence13666 it's called "Too Big To Walk" on Only Human's channel! And for sure, I agree it would be hard for anyone. I couldn't imagine doing it at their weight. But at my weight, it looks really fun and I'd love to have the 2 months available to do it.

Would help ke lose this last 10 pounds that seems lime it doesn't go anywhere unless I really just starve myself. My thyroid is all over the place and makes weight loss hard. I am working with a doctor now but it still can be really difficult to get the medication right.

So, I have anorexia, been fighting it since I was a kid. You inteoducing me to counting calories helped me realize why my weight GAIN journey was lacking and it was because I'd eat a lot of stuff that wasn't substantial! I was pushing myself to eat and was barely hitting 500 calories or (on my best days) 1000! Countinf calories isn't about "losing weight" it's about seeing if you're actually hitting your recommended daily calorie intake or going over it. Plus it ain't THAT hard to do, even on free apps! (And I have ADHD memory issues dude!)

500 calories a day is not healthy. 2000 calories for women. 2500 calories for men. However if it’s working for you then cool 👍

adhd(and autism) anorexic here! i always starved without counting and have gotten used to that for years, but i’ve at least had times where i have been able to track my eating/get more calories and important vitamins through counting. i struggled with being overweight my teen years, and now i’m working through being underweight knowing i need to go back up to a healthy weight. counting calories really is a helpful tool and i feel like it’s something i need in my routine long term to avoid suffering from being under/overweight (poverty is kinda getting in the way rn unfortunately but i’ll get myself through that)

@@tsu_bell I fully understand that! I come from a family that has only extremes of over or under weight. Money is always a huge thing when it comes to weight in general, as it feels as though certain foods are cheaper and worse for you than others. I think it's about balancing and giving yourself leeway now and then when things are tight. I wish you luck on your journey!!!
