There are several factors that can cause low testosterone, including:
1. Aging - Testosterone levels naturally decrease as men age.
2. Medical conditions - Certain medical conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and some genetic disorders can cause low testosterone.
3. Hormonal disorders - Problems with the pituitary gland or hypothalamus can cause low testosterone.
4. Medications - Certain medications such as opioids, glucocorticoids, and chemotherapy drugs can affect testosterone levels.
5. Lifestyle factors - Smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and a sedentary lifestyle can also contribute to low testosterone levels.
6. Testicular injury or infection - Injury to the testicles or infection can cause a decrease in testosterone production.
It is important to speak with a healthcare provider if you are experiencing symptoms of low testosterone to determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment.

Clinical depression can also affect how you sleep, your appetite and your ability to think clearly. Clinical depression Depressive disorder (also known as depression) is a common mental disorder. It involves a depressed mood or loss of pleasure or interest in activities for long periods of time. Depression is different from regular mood changes and feelings about everyday life. According to research, men’s testosterone levels have dropped at least 20% in the last 20 years across all age groups. Seventy-year-old men in 1987-89 had an average testosterone level that was almost 100 points higher than 55-year-old men in 2002-04. The average 22 year old man today, has an average testosterone level roughly equal to that of a 67 year old man in 2000. So, in reality, most men DO have low t levels compared to men a few decades ago.

The problem with these doctors and many others is that they are very situational, and that situation is usually money. You're going to have one group of doctors just say that 50 years ago, everybody's testosterone was higher. Then you're going to have another group of doctors say,, No, you don't need that. These are usually the old doctors who are not athletically overweight and say, Well, I'm just getting old. Meanwhile, you have a doctor who's all for it, who works out, who's not afraid of physical labor, and who wants to keep his mind sharp, livelong, and healthy, so I think it's obvious who these two doctors are; they're just getting old.

It’s very dependent as mentioned in the comments, in America anyway, 1. If it’s your general PCP or an actual Endocrinologist they both have different perspectives of what levels are classed as low. 2. The actual labs where your blood is tested vary from one company to another which can determine if they class your levels to be low or not. 3. Your insurance also Chios in regarding what it classes as considered low testosterone levels if your wanting to go through your health insurance. Lots of variables that can have a lifelong impact if you are right in that edge of what one doctor or lab considers low and a different lab or doctor may say your absolutely fine, it’s really not black and white in the world of medicine and as mentioned the guidelines or always changing 😮

Ever wonder why men and women in their 40's and beyond tend to not think well? It's low-T mainly but also low progesterone and too much stress hormone Cortisol. Progrsterone helps to keep cortisol under control and helps testosterone from not causing prostate problems in men. THAT is why standard doctors dont wan to treat men or women with testosterone or progesterone

Hi Thomas. That’s a complicated question. The short answer is that testosterone supplements don’t cause prostate cancer but if someone is diagnosed with prostate cancer they should talk to their doctor and discuss potentially stopping as it can fuel prostate cancer that is already there. And if taking supplements should be checked regularly with PSA testing. Hope that helps

@@vhjvbhjb5280 I agree. I have been into health and fitness all of my life. No drinking, smoking or processed food. At 60 years old many thought that I wasn't past my late 40s. Before ever starting testosterone I was functioning well. Eventually at 60, I felt myself slowing down, poor quality of sleep, lower energy, fuzzy thinking and minor but frustrating forgetfulness. I decided to start testosterone. I am back again. Best thing I ever did. I have probably added years to my life. But you have to be following a healthy lifestyle before and after you start testosterone therapy. And you must only take "replacement" levels.
@limitisillusion7

Any proof of these claims? It seems to me there could be a vicious cycle of sorts going on. Poor diet and a lack of exercise could cause low T, which could cause depression. Then depression causes you to make worse diet choices and exercise less. Then T drops more, ad infinitum. The question is... Do you want to find the root cause so that your body can ultimately produce testosterone naturally, or do you want to become dependent on injections? Keep in mind that low T may be just one side effect of poor diet and lack of sufficient exercise. You may have other biomarkers that become imbalanced as a result, and only fixing T levels could lead you into another less predictable vicious cycle. That's why putting all the blame on one biomarker may not be a good idea.

Now, talk about how the normal range of testosterone keeps getting lower and lower. So many men now test low, the normal range has decreased substantially. Average testosterone level of your grandparents generation was around 800ngml. Now, if you're at 301ngml, you are considered within normal range regardless of your age. That's not even half of what your grandpa had in his 60-70s. There is a global low testosterone problem. Any endocrinologist would agree with me on that. I know, because I'm friends with a bunch of them already.

@@xijinping880 lil? Come say that to my face and I'll kick your fucking teeth in. I work in the medical field, and have a degree in biology. As a hobby, I'm a muay thai fighter. Worldwide testosterone levels are dropping and it isn't as simple as, good health equals high testosterone. If I had to guess, it is from the endocrine disrupters/mimickers in the micro plastics we eat. Which, is an entire credit card worth each week. If bad health meant low testosterone levels, we'd expect to see low levels in history during times of hardship when tested. Yet, that isn't the case. Meaning, something else is the cause. A lethargic life and bad nutrition isn't helping. But again, it isn't the main cause. That can account for small changes. But, we are seeing full 50% reductions in testosterone levels in men now compares to the 50s and 60s. What happened right after that? Microplastics started being added to everything possible.
