You HAVE To See These Watches - New 2024 Seiko Release - Black Series Collection

Seiko has really been on fire lately and with their new watch announcement of 3 dive watches being added to the Black Series, they are not messing around in 2024. Prospex King Turtle SRPK43K1, Prospex Solar Speedtimer Chronograph SSC923P1, and the Prospex Sumo Diver SPB433J1 Limited Edition.

The 4R36 Seiko is a good workhorse movement. My SRPK43 is perfectly aligned. Personally, I have been disappointed by Seiko's 6R35 movements. Both 6R35s of my own ran +12 sec / day which is fine but quickly started to gain 120+ sec/day w/o being magnetized, go figure? This is obviously a small sample size but that's my take.

These are the anecdotal stories making me hesitant to buy anything with a 6R in it. I have a SRPK01 (also perfectly aligned) with a 4R36 that runs about +/- 3 seconds per day. Over a one week period a couple of weeks ago, because it ran + and - it was spot on with my iPhone (which I set it by). I realize that's not typical, but that's pretty freaking good. My other 4R36 in an SRPE51 can run +/- 10-12 but often runs much better than that.

this is a collection watch to be worn a few times a year. if worn every day it would look like cats were playing with it 😁 but it is simply beautiful
