This needs a part two! This convo was more about sex within the context of purity. Now us married folks need a convo on sex within marriage. Different libido’s, setting the mood, intimacy etc. We need to talkkkkkkk lol

❤Definitely agree with you guys. I know that young people don’t love hearing the church say “don’t have sex because the Bible says so”… but as Bible believing Christians we should strive to love the Lord with all our hearts. And Jesus says if we love Him we keep His commandments and we know that the Lord hates sexual immorality. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God”❤
@chloejohnson31844 ай бұрын
Amen, and there are many areas of self-control that are not taught or practiced in the church. We can't cherry pick, which is the worst of sins and judge people. Sin is sin, young or not. This is a huge thing that the church and youth groups have been failing at since I was young.
@twinmom60094 ай бұрын
Does the Lord "hate"? Is the Lord capable of hate? This is a real question. I've never associated the Lord with hate, so I was wondering if He actually does exhibit hate.
@daughterofthelordgodalmighty4 ай бұрын
@@twinmom6009 there are passages throughout the Bible that describe how the Lord feels about sin. Isaiah 61:8 says “For I the Lord love justice; I hate robbery and wrong;”. And Psalm 11:5 says “The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.”. The Lord is perfect and holy therefore he cannot dwell with sin. Which is why Jesus died for us to make us righteous before Him.❤️

This video is soo good ! I had to re-identify what sex meant for myself in the context of a Godly marriage years ago. Church had their way of describing the “Why” behind sex and I gained my own understanding of why I made a personal decision to wait. All the key points you both mentioned were the reasons. I didn’t know about the 3 stages which is something new I can add onto my list. As a single woman, making the self-decision to decide to wait was me saying I wanted to do it God’s way. Cherishing my body as a temple and telling God to lead in my life. The man that God has for me will take on that same commitment. Amen.

Jess, I’m glad you brought up the topic about how the church tries to solve the issue of sex before marriage by not talking about it at all. Because I believe it actually does not model what the Bible tells us. For example, God clearly tells us to not sin, but he also prepares us for temptation. As well, He tells us what to do when we do fall. We have the ability to repent. We have the ability to pray, fast and seek his face before falling into temptation. We have the ability after we fall to go and ask for forgiveness. So, I feel like the church isn’t embodying what Christ exemplifies.

I totally agree with Jess on the bedroom music 😆 music sets the vibe and though Ribbon in the sky is a love song, to me it's not a making love song. I also agree with the steps that should be taken before giving your body to someone, if it's done first, you do miss the connections and trying to get back to the start is a upward battle. Great talk guys ❤❤❤

Thank God he’s a redeemer frfr because this purity life isn’t easy after falling but I love what you two mentioned, “how much do I actually want to heal from this and not fall prey to this sin or struggle”. Love the white toes Jess and Jonathan providing the “physical love” language. You two are just perfectly imperfect, keep shining your light and putting in the effort, it is beautiful to witness the fruits and strive towards them myself. Have a great week!

Tackling things that are extremely important to understand as God fearing people gliding through a kindred-spirit relationship with each other. Extremely happy to see it. i am preparing for marriage and afraid to navigate some things truthfully. This has helped me to see both sides and angles of being in a relationship with someone as equally yoked as the two of you are. Jess, I agree with you. Ribbon in the Sky (Intro's version) was my first dance wedding song, but it's definitely not a lovemaking song. It's romantic, like Jonathan said. That's what you want for your wedding, romance, not sex. The sex comes after the wedding during the honeymoon. That's when we're playing your 90s Playlist.

Hi guys, as Jess always says “I know we are only 2 years in…” but you guys are blessed to have this much knowledge under your belts at such a young age, and this early in your marriage. Having a strong foundation with open communication, trust and are willing to love your “crazy” unconditionally will carry you a long way. As far as the music goes, I can vibe with all of it 😂. Jess, I feel you on hearing those boom and bass beats of the 90’s, I love it! At the same time try to clear your head and open your mind to Jonathan’s Ribbon in the sky type music and you will experience a different side of things. Most of all Enjoy!☺️

Yes I definitely feel like sex should be talked about so much that it becomes the norm and talked about as this sacred high value thing not something that dirty people do. Like it’s talked about as if it’s forbidden the same way as drugs or illegal activities and no one talks about why you should wait. Sometimes reasons are needed adults need to stop with the because I said so or because that’s what god says it’s okay to explain why something is the way it is and a child is not disrespectful for asking. Also framing the reason to not have sex as because you can get stds or pregnant makes you think ok I can’t do it because these things can happen but if I can find a way to make these things not happen such as birth control and condoms then it’s ok when that is not the reason.

Stating that we’ve had sex and now for the duration we are choosing to not engage in xy and z is a true statement…. This conversation while good, is not a real raw conversation which is really what the church is missing…. We can all google Hebrew….
