My next purchases will most likely be a specific Bangles album. Doro, Sig:Ar:Tyr, Skyforger or Korpiklaani as well. And then there is always the random find…I go with a lot of random finds. One box set i felt was worth it is the Thin Lizzy 1976 5 cd 1 bluray boxset. It includes new stereo mixes of Jailbreak and Johnny the Fox, 2 discs of demos and BBC sessions, a live show, the bluray and a hard cover book. Came out to about $80. Plus i threw in the colored vinyl they offered of both albums...i had to get em 🤷‍♂️🤣 But yeah i seen your other rants and totally agree man.

They're insane prices. And yeah I'm not sure who the target audience is for these new reissues. I guess there must be one out there otherwise they wouldn't be selling them. I think you're right to call them out Johnny as they're things the average fan can't afford.

I for sure I am not going to buy all these (you said it right) insanely overpriced box set of an album that I own since the 80s. Older vinyl is better too, it is really analogue, where as music on new releases has gone through a digital process. These bands have lost every contact with reality. Good rant!

At these prices no way, and I say that as someone who owns 11,000 CDs. The remasters Kiss put out during 1997 and 98 still sound great as does that Tool album so these rip off releases are unnecessary for me.

Hell no to these sets. I bought both Kiss boxsets mostly for the live stuff and as a Kiss collector but the sound is awful. I bought all six of the Black Sabbath for the live recordings and was not disappointed. You're right. The only way to stop this is to not buy it.

I agree that is has gotten insane with these reissues and Kiss really did start years back when they put out some much merchandise. Most bands did posters, shirts, hats, pins, but they did dolls, lunch boxes, all sorts of toys, and many have followed the same trend over the years. The pricing has gotten so nuts and just not worth my money or time. I have bought deluxe editions in the past but mainly for classic albums by Bob Marley, The Doors, Janis Joplin with them mostly having a second disc with live content or unreleased sessions but I'm not paying that much money out for something I'll listen to a few times and then set it on my shelf to collect dust. Gene is always on point about their new merchandise and I have to share a funny story about him. Back during the Revenge tour I was in high school and spent New Year's at my girlfriend's house and this was after I got her into listening to Kiss. Her family was really religious and she believed the "Knights In Satan's Service" BS from back in the day but changed her mind when I let her listen to a greatest hits album. We're watching Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve and Kiss kicks off the new year with Rock and Roll All Nite and this friend of her parents sees Gene and says, "I'd hate to meet him in a dark alley." Me, "You're scared of Jewish New Yorkers?" Him, "They're Jewish?" Me, "Yeah, Gene and Paul are and the only thing you have to worry with Gene will be him trying to sell you Kiss merchandise." Dude looked really confused but he was also a very uptight white dude.

That is crazy pricing on both items. And zero value for money. The best ones I have seen were the Metallica box sets. I thought they were great value. Full of vinyl, cds, dvds, books and other bits and pieces.

No, I will not be buying this set. I love music, but when it comes down, these kind of prices I draw the line. The collectibles are nice but not necessarily important to me. The music is what matters.
