@4:33 Stopping the fan blades from spinning is definitely important. Not only can you damage the fan but you can also damage your mother board. If you spin the fan, with air, then the electric motor becomes a generator and will send a voltage to the mother board. Produce a big enough voltage and your board gets damaged.

After awhile, accumulated installs of software can make your machine run slower. Starting with a fresh install of OS is not a bad idea, but a bit of hassle.

'reset' can make it a bit faster. Reset with deleting data can also improve further.
