In this video you'll see onw thing you should always do when you fly. Air travel can be confusing and intimidating. I traveled by air 2-4 times every week over the past decade, and in this video I'll show you one thing that you should always do to make flying easier. Most air travel starts and ends at a commercial airport. The typical procedure is check-in; border control; airport security baggage and passenger check before entering the gate; boarding; flying; and pick-up of luggage and - limited to international flights - another border control at the host country's border. Do this every time you fly.

Save your electronic boarding pass in several locations. I use th airline app, my iPhone potos, and my iPhone wallet
Have a phone charger when you travel
You can print your boarding pass at home, at the airport kiosk, or ask at the luggage counter
When tagging your luggage, be sure to keep the piece you peel off as this has your luggage tracking information
Peel and stick your luggage or baggage receipt onto your paper boarding pass so everything is in one place

Let's make this simple folks three things to do: 1. Print your paper pass 2. Send the QR code to your email, significant other (fellow traveler) 3. Use the app and pin to your mobile wallet (you will typically use this until you run into a problem where 1 or 2 will help. All over, great info, the comment about your confirmation number being the most important thing you need when showing up aside from ID and Passport. Great advice. I usually have my confirmation on the app or written down in my wallet for fast access. Many reasons you night need it aside from checking in. It's how they identify your trip and get the process of checking in started via human or kiosk

Point well made. Once was flying with son. I always have boarding pass on phone, also paper in carry on and one in a pocket. Cuz this flight I had to hit the ladies room before boarding, and of course boarding started while I was 'disposed'. Son boarded with carry ons where my boarding pass and iphone were. Had ID in pocket and other boarding pass. Got on the plane last but I got on...

You can always get a paper pass by walking up to the check in/baggage check desk. Also at curbside check in.

I do get a printed boarding pass every time. This might depend on the airline but sometimes, they'll have one section of the boarding pass taken from you as you board the plane. It might not be too obvious which side you'll be able to keep so the tip on keeping the baggage claim sticker on your boarding pass is not something I want to do. Of course, in your case, you don't really have anything against the mobile boarding pass and even use it so as long as that phone works, you'll be fine. Wait a minute?! Was it not your premise that the paper boarding pass is used as a backup in case your electronic one failed on you? Ooopppsss...now the paper one failed on you because you lost your baggage claim tag that was stuck on the half of the boarding pass that they collect from you as board the plane. Most of the time, it seems they don't bother checking the baggage claim tag but the one day that you don't have it, it might become an issue.

I don't have a smart phone and my land line cord is to short to leave the house. I am old and have no extra money for a useless electronic device so its paper and a Answering machine at home connected to the land line. Yes I am old fashioned so paper only for me. I use travel agents and they send me all the papers.
