I'm sharing with everyone I can! This is vital info for the young and not so young. Life is too precious to hang around with people who won't challenge you physically, mentally, emotionally and most important, spiritually.

Josh~Your collagen literally transformed my health, but now, your podcast is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!! I'm teaching this year (after 50 year in government schools) in a Christian high school, where I'm going to share your podcasts with my students!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This one on friends is particularly pertinent to my kids. THANK YOU, JOSH.

Thank you for these videos on growth. I currently do not have any close friends. They all abandoned me when I had hard things enter my life. It is difficult to trust again but I will look more closely at who I surround myself with.

You also have to BE the better friend. Don’t be the one people are choosing NOT to hang out with.

Excellent point! I absolutely agree. We will tend to attract the level of friend we are willing to be ourselves!!

I have not been able to make any close friends most of my adult life & I'm 63 now. People are lost in their phones.

Same and am 62, it’s really sad. Seems even harder these days and like you said.

There is no doubt social media has made us more distant in relationships rather than bringing us together in most cases. Almost no one knows their neighbor anymore.

Dang. Here I thought I was crazy for having these exact same thoughts about friendships and what they should look like. Turns out I was just being gaslighted by "friends" that are now gone. Very hard to have friendships these days when people don't want to invest and are transactional. Forget midwest nice, its just a facade. Thanks for the encouragement and reinforcement!

Thank you Dr Axe. Great video. As the mom of teens in the uk I can say since “bad events” over the last few years there’s almost nowhere for them to meet once they’ve left school.

It's been challenging for many! Sometimes when we get put in this difficult situation we need to seek it out at a place like a place of worship, or even create the community ourselves!!

It’s not easy to make friends after 30… people aren’t as open and receptive these days. I feel extremely lonely more than ever…

There is no doubt it is challenging. For myself, I discovered community by pursuing, like sifting for gold nuggets, it takes time and commitment. And also at a place of worship (I found a great church) and people who are purpose-driven who I work with.

Hello Dr Josh. Enjoy and use the podcast! You mentioned offering suggestions for podcast ideas. A suggestion would be the skill of mentoring. Whether that is receiving mentoring or mentoring others. What are the 2 sides and is there a proper etiquette?

Hi Dr Josh, love this episode. I have been praying for and seeking for someone to partner with me to work in my consultancy. Looking for competence, chemistry, and character. Everytime l think there is someone, something happens that pulls the person or me into a different orbit. I'd like someone who is a friend with gifts that complement mine.

Yeah, except, you can't change who you hang around with, when those people are your family
@harmony3395 Жыл бұрын
Maybe not totally. But you can make a shift. Hang out with friends a little more than family. Increase your circle of friends slowly.

@@harmony3395 Agreed, all we can do is our best with what we've been given and try to maximize the relationships we have a duty to invest in.
