Nice lil DIY. A water meter wrench would also do the trick. I use them on my vdrive to reach the center drain plug. 👍

Thanks for the good wishes and I've been busy learning more and more about the boat over the last couple of weeks. I should be putting together another video showing some technical things about the engine very soon. Yeah I talked to Yamaha support and this is a common issue. They said most shops have a tool made by a welder. However this is really a good idea. I am gonna try it after I clean the plug and the housing with scotch brite pad.

I’ll be making one very soon. My plug still comes out easy, but some day I’m sure it will give me a hard time. Having one good, strong hand from carpel tunnel surgery leaves me with few options. Good job Scott!

Thanks! The tool has really come in handy so much that I don't even bother trying to wrench it out by hand strength anymore. Glad your plug is still coming out easy.

Once again a great video from a great guy! When I first got my 2019 AR195 I was thinking the same thing. I was getting old because I was struggling to get mine out, but then I read to keep it lubed up with Yamaha Marine grease! Now as part of my cleaning routine after taking the boat out I put a little marine grease on and it just comes out like butter! Not sure if you are putting any on yours? It’s another great product from Yamaha! Later dude !

Aloha! Hope the weather is still cooperating for tomorrows launch! Tried the grease and it made it a little easier but was picking up sand. Cant win for losing! Lets see the vid from tomorrows cruise.
