Haha I’ve been doing this for years. Im glad this had been put on KZbin. I was wondering why their were no proper tutorials or examples for steaming natural hair. And I didn’t want to invest in a salon steamer. Facial steamers are legit ! It makes things easier,I never fuss with buying a lot of products I just put my leave in conditioner and steam my hair. It’s made my hair grow like crazy. I also steam my box braids too

I steam the bathroom with hot shower and stay in there for about 10-15 minutes 🤷🏾♀️. I'm on a budget 😂. But I love the way my hair feels when I use steam to help deep condition and to help refresh my wash and go's!

Steaming helps with elasticity. That’s why you’re hair is shrinking. It helped with the heat damage I had.

I've been doing this for some time now. The results are AMAZING. Hair is moisturized for a whole week. It does a great job at absorbing products into the hair. My last mistake was steaming my gel into my hair. It had no gel cast whatsoever so my wash and go got frizzy after day 3, still moisturized tho😊❤✌🏾

I steam my hair the same way. My hair is high porosity. It does help keep my hair moisturized in my mini twists without having to use a lot of products. I've found ways to tweak processes to tailor it to my hair type. I definitely wouldn't do it daily.

Ladies, please don't use a clothes steamer. Use a facial steamer or a hair steamer. There is a high possibility you'll get heat damage from a clothes steamer.

@@swisdom9117 no i dont, i make sure to wash my hair the second it feels dry, but depending on the style..a(twist out)for me lasts for two weeks and it would still be hydrated! My hair is high porosity too, grease is the most softening hydrating sealant ive ever used, i make sure to smooth it in twist then move on the the next,def. Wear a scarf if you try it! I put put on my scalp

Lol yes. They are both steamers. If you don’t have a hooded steamer you can use a facial steamer. Or if you don’t want something big or you want something cheaper a facial steamer works just as well.

Steaming my hair never worked. My hair is so damn thick from the roots, and all it did was frizz it up. I have type 4a hair. I'm not sure if texture has anything to do with it. When I want to deep condition my hair, I just do hot oil treatments before I style my hair. Which I do once every two months since it's always in protective styles.

There’s more than one way to deep condition/ moisturize hair. Part out a small section of your hair in the most dense area and try the maximum hydration method. Remember there’s always more than one way to do one thing.

Taming frizz works the same way as people hear train when they want sleek press and curls. Sometimes you don’t get the results on the first try. Sometimes it happens over several treatments.

I swear by steaming my hair, my Nan used to have a proper steamer in her hairdressers when I was a child and I always used to beg my mum to sit under it. Now she's retired I don't have access to a proper steamer so I've been using the blow-dryer/cap method but I definitely want to look into this as my hair loves a good steam! I do wonder if clothes steamers work just as well because I have one of those....

your hair type doesn't determine what products and tools you use. I have low porosity hair like you so you can use the same products and tools like me. I have a mix of 4a 4b 4c hair. Again it doesn't matter what hair type you have as long as you have the same porosity
