Great content but why the distracting captioning this time? I enjoy your videos for content but the lack of consistency in production makes them hard to watch.

I think Mark Baker said that was Chris Barnes issue in pressure situations... his shoulder would move forward and he would get over the top of the ball and lose all leverage at the bottom.

Very good advice JR. I know learning these tips increased my average +20 - 25 pins or more. But sometimes those bad habits creep back in and you have to go back to basics.

First I would like to thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I'm hoping you can help me. I struggle a lot with the 7 pin. I have issues with seeing down lane. So I say target front, back and pins as a reminder to look at those things after I've thrown the ball, but my eyes aren't capturing that. I just see the ball go down the lanes and the ball hit the pocket. Then I leave a 7 pin. And by the 4th/5th one I'm guesstimating on what move to make. (I do make moves up and back but I still leave the 7, 8, or 10 pin) So I go from sugar to shyt, because I don't know how I left the 7 pin, I just know it's there. I watch a lot of videos and your explanations are the best. I am left handed (I'm sure you guessed that already) and the only thing that is a bit frustrating is that, everything is focused on the right handed bowler. Completely understandable since you're right handed, but it would be nice to see some of the things you're talking about being shown visually on the left.

Pivot point, the shoulder is the pivot point, and as evidenced by biomechanics and professional bowlers the non-dominant arm must be the stability in the swing (moving or not 😉) if you pull with it you cause issues, if you set it then the position lacks meaning so long as there is balance... higher level thinking there but simplictic explanations lead to equally simplistic problems as game develops... teach bowlers why not how and they really learn

Used yesterday’s tip bowling this morning….keeping my left shoulder forward longer and waiting for gravity on the downswing felt so good…. Had been struggling with keeping my hand the inside for months! Thanks for your help.

You interpreted that wrong. B&K meant that if you keep your shoulders square your hips won't be able to activate and you won't be able to be athletic and you won't have power.

crazy but I had a lesson with a local pro just yesterday and my issues are coming from this! When I'm at the back of my backswing I'm wrapping the ball behind and not keeping it in line w/my head causing chaos at the release. He said to think of a pin thru your shoulder and using it just as a pivot. My only goal for the next couple of weeks is to keep the backswing straight and let the ball do the work and stop trying to force it w/my shoulder.

I agree with all you said. I always thought moving the non bowling arm to the side helped acurruacy by squareing the shoulders to your target and aided balance.

was giving your old live taping video a rewatch the other night because I am having fit issues with a 5* reverse pitch change to get me out of the ball faster. I started knuckling because my thumb slips out a little bit on the back swing and the ball pushes between the webbing and the knuckle forcing a grip so result.. stick.. I have started taping from deep in the bottom of the ball with cut up small pieces so i can feel down there then taping the top with full pieces about a 1/4 inch into the ball and layering it. I havent actually thrown it on the lanes yet. But my simple question is how do you know too much is too much? cause this is already pretty snug. as if im lightly gripping my thumb with my hand. But when i practice throwing off into the couch it does come off nicely. So the question of what is too much i dont think ive ever heard anyone elaborate on.

I have a question I’ve watched a lot of your videos even older videos on ball release and how to hook by keeping your hand behind the ball and adding a slight twist to get more rev rate but I can’t get the ball to hook not even slightly I even switched to finger tips. Am I staying in the center lane to long ? I don’t get it should I try and throw the ball on the left side of the lane less oil. If I stand way left and throw toward the right gutter to hook it. I’m stuck

I've been having issues with ball speed lately. I've been told before that speed and power come from my legs. However it seems like no matter how far back i start my approach, i can never increase speed or power. What could I be doing wrong?

What are thecsize of your steps. I was having same issue until I moved up but in my 4 step approach had each o the first three steps get longer till I had a long sliding 4th step and found speed of shot increased. Before this had small 1st step and 2nd and 3rd were about same size then skide.

Make sure it's out of your hand quickly, meaning don't hit it just move the arm through and let the hand go limp (try it one shot or two and you will feel what I'm saying) sometimes it's fit, dealt with it myself, but sometimes it's HIT, or grab, dealt with that also 😅😂 my best advice is to work on being less grab and more smooth/get this damn thing off my hand please at the bottom 😂 and then if issues persist try addressing pitches with you pro shop guy to see if that might help
