I tried to play, but didn't get very far. It's an intriguing lesson in how you can take an inherently interesting idea and still make it not work. That's not meant to be an insult. The game is plagued with beginner mistakes, and y'know, we all have to make all the beginner mistakes, probably dozens of times. That's how we learn. I was writing seriously for five years before I stopped making _some_ of the mistakes. I still make most of the others. So as I'm playing it, the primary thing of interest is that I really enjoy this idea that I'm gonna run around building up a castle and preparing for the hero to show up. It's kind of like the Stanley Parable, but in same ways even better because there's a sense of progression and an end-game, plus the mystery of what will happen when the hero shows up. Am I supposed to win? Lose? With that in mind, I know what I _would_ feel, how I would think, if the game were compelling: "Oh, boy! I'm getting this amusing dialogue, narrator, new characters, a whole castle to explore, and all these little things to do! This is so fun!" Instead, all I could think was, "Oh, no, I have to try to jump across the lava again with these janky controls and hyper-sensitive camera?"

Is it true in Unity you don't get a free water material and or texture unlike Unreal Engine, I remember something about Water?

I don't think one comes preloaded but there are free ones available in the asset store

I'm pretty much happy with how it turned out for a 48 hour game jam. It did exactly what I wanted it to do. I understand some people don't want to experience it for the art but it's not clickbait just because it's not what you wanted. The game literally is what it says in the title of this video. I think maybe you don't understand the point of a game jam isn't to make a game you expect everyone will enjoy

@@3gnomesgames909 Honestly, for a game jam, this idea of yours is pretty solid, most people can't do anything even remotely as ambitious with such a limited amount of time. And not even due to a lack of talent or effort, just cuz you know... YOU LITERALLY ONLY HAVE 48 HOURS TO FINISH AND PUBLISH SAID GAME!
