I always turn off the dry cycle and just crack the door open for the dishes to air dry. I also always just throw a detergent pod in the bottom of the dishwasher to run it. So one good and one not so good idea

A dishwasher is not for washing your dishes... A dishwasher is for sterilizing your dishes.
