In the 1960s CEO to worker pay ratio was 20:1. Today it is 268:1. People want to know what happened to the American dream - there you go.
@jimboj4000
@jimboj4000 16 сағат бұрын
Interestingly... the reason CEO pay has skyrocketed like that is precisely because of people like you complaining about how much executives get paid. From the early 1900s until 1972, that ratio stayed constant at about 20:1. Then in 1972 people complained and the SEC mandated that CEOs disclose how much they pay to the public with that hope that this public scrutiny would encourage them to reduce their pay. Instead, CEOs then saw how much CEOs at competitor companies got paid, and no one wants to be a "below average paid CEO" and no company wants to employ a "below average CEO", so Boards then rampantly started increasing CEO pay packages. There's a lot of academic literature on this. Quite ironic but there's a fact you probably never cared about.
@alestevez950

You’re right, it’s a fact that I don’t care about because it’s irrelevant. I’m not “complaining” - as a matter of fact, I do quite well for myself. I’m just pointing out one of the major root causes. No one in particular is responsible for CEOs deciding to take a bigger slice of the pie. It happens because they can; it isn’t illegal for them to do so, so they do it. And it isn’t solved in America because Americans are slow at identifying systemic problems. They view everything through a lens of individuality.

@@jimboj4000In this case, the cause isn't as important as the effect. Still worth noting though.

Been feeling like this for a while now. I'm turning 30 this year. I feel burnt out, just tired & depressed. I feel pressure from all sides & it terrifies me. Need to have some serious & uncomfortable conversations with my family, don't want to but it has to happen. Because I can't take it anymore. And they don't know what I'm feeling or thinking because I never tell them. I've been keeping all this inside me & I just feel like I can't take it much longer. It is for my growth & happiness. I don't feel happy, I just feel miserable & anxious & scared all the damn time. Can't sleep well at all. I've decided I have to focus on getting rid of my bad habits & becoming more disciplined. Something has to change or else nothing will ever change. Thanks for the video Aaron

I suffered burnout last year, too. I've been through a lot last year, going to work, taking care of my grandmother, and dealing with church responsibilities. All that piled on me, and I felt depressed and stressed. I kept going through the motions every day, week, and month. On top of that, the job I'm working at changed negatively to where the morale went downhill. Three times, I wanted to change my hours to work in the morning. But the GM would not let me have them. One person told me he appreciates what I do, but he also stated that I'm undervalued in what I do. I wasn't even excited during the Christmas season, and I love Christmas! With that said, however, I am making some changes in my life. I plan on becoming a KZbin content creator. I know it will not be easy, but I want to share my thoughts using KZbin. I love KZbin, and I want to use it to share my passions and make more money. Once I make enough from my channels, then I want to quit my job and live my life the way I want to! To me, enough is enough! Have a better year, Aaron!

I've been burnt out for probably 6 years. "Recently" (summer) got laid off after nearly 20 years with the same company (I.T.). Looking at the local I.T. market, I still haven't applied any serious energy to getting a job. Seeing salaries of CEOs and pro athletes so ridiculously high, it's been tough to find any motivation to start working again for the going low salaries again. I know I'm speaking from burnout and likely depression, but with the pay structure so out of balance, I see cases like mine becoming more and more common. I see so many people work themselves to death and have nothing to show for it. It's going to keep happening until we pull our heads out of our asses.

I'm a graduate with graduate experience with some interesting work and life experience. However, I experienced setbacks but always bounced back from these. However, I am overworked, underpaid, and feel like I'm in a rut. When I was younger I was more disciplined with diet and exercise etc but now I'm content to chill out and do little else. I have personal and professional goals, but some of these are out of my reach (atm). Normally I have been able to figure these out but over the last few years this feels almost impossible. I probably am burnt out. I'm glad to know others are feeling similar (not in a twisted way). Let's help each other out. Have a good day reader.

The big issue about burnt out is the kind of job that you use to be. Trust me, that can kill your career a mental health issue and this is so much work. Some people don't care because they never know how the path can be tough and the way people judge you like someone of different thinking everything is easy. In the reality, some people are only without interest, so they stay to study and try to have the problems nobody finds to survive. They need to have people with heavy and tough problem to solve because they can't work, nobody wants them. I remember a colleague was a consultant, in short, his job was extern chief technology officer, it was perfect to him because he knew nobody will want him. I want his job now. In life, you have people loved about themselves and people you need and don't want, but you deserve to have for your weakness. The second position is much more tough.

I used to think happiness came from working 6-7 days a week always being locked in with my fitness making money all the time and not spending time on anything that didn’t bring me closer to a specific goal, but I found out this isn’t the secret to happiness and if anything it made me miserable as fuck. But I have also been on the other end where I was drinking and partying all the time and had nothing else to look forward to apart from the next big night out. This also made me miserable as fuck. But I’ve realised that happiness for me is something in between.

I totally get that you need to monetize your content, but it's got so ridiculous now that I find myself guessing what product from the predictable line of sponsors, this video is about to pitch from the opening. I learned a lot dureing the earlier years, but I've finally had to unsubscribe. Really not interested in a penis pump nor bargain therapy. Good luck and I sincerely hope you continue making a lot of endorsement income.
