Nice one mate, this nicely covers a lot of the issues I see everywhere in beginner shots. I still wanna see your full cinematic version with burning leaves being swept up by the explosion though.

Thanks Daniel! Haha maybe a director's cut is in order 😉

Nicely done. I'm finding color has the biggest impact on compositing. It never looks right until the contrast and luminance matches. I never thought of speed though, I'll have to remember that.

@@AlfieVaughan following your ideas, I did an explosion Explosion In the fictional East German city of Prutskau in after effects on my KZbin channel. Please have a look do you think I could find a job in Britain? I’m in Berlin right now and I hate it. I would like to go back to the UK since I studied film, directing in Edinburgh.

@@AlfieVaughan My channel is basically a collection of little ideas for my project spy versus spy or Berlin city of spies. So far I didn’t manage to find any collaborators. Very sad.

It depends what kind of job you want but I don't think you're quite at the level to be able to get a job as an artist yet. Just had a quick look. It's all a bit basic. Maybe if you applied for an internship or apprenticeship you could go in at an entry level.

Man.. you guys are going through a lot of work to do what Davinci Resolve can do seamlessly.. Anybody doing compositing should have it for the color page alone. Makes matching different assets easy. Everything you did from camera shake to whatever takes no time in Resolve..

I've had this pointed out a lot in recent videos. I work as a professional compositor at a VFX studio which is why I use Nuke. It's just what I learned on. However, I still believe it's more powerful than anything else on the market. Fusion seems pretty decent but Nuke is still the leading compositor at a professional level

I've used Fusion for years; I love it, but Nuke is better for compositing. The work Alfie did is the same I'd do in fusion. You can use a camera shake node, but real camera shake will always look better. It's the little details that sell it.
